not bad. and yay to using the IG (favorite weapon)! alatreon was a fun fight indeed. i even did the immortal kinsect build against him, just for fun (though that fight took forever). i was sad when i ran out of things to do and make in iceborne. thank god rise is here to fill the void.

IG was the first weapon I mastered way back on MH4U on the 3DS. If I remembered correctly I logged more than 700 hours on it before I broke it and about the same on MHW. I saw that build but never tried it, it looks hilarious though! I feel you though about Iceborne, kinda stopped playing it a few months ago but mainly cause I'm waiting for Rise~

i originally started with LS back on mh3u, but ever since mh4u, i've been an IG main, and come mhw, used LBG as my secondary. speaking of iceborne... yeah, i have 4,000+ hours on that (couldn't help it. gameplay was damn addicting). even got 100+ kills on every monster in the game, including fatalis (humble brags. hehe). well... all but ancient leshen, because FUCK THAT MONSTER! still, i hope mhr is just as addicting.

Ah I see and cool! I started with IG and GL on MH4U then branched out to the Bowguns before I got the MHW. After that I learned HH, SA and DB! But man I thought I was a vet, you make me seem like a new born pup heh. Anyhow sent a friend request, after I get down to it and take care of basic stuff I'll hunt with you some time~ How you liking the game so far btw?

Damn man I’m getting it the day it comes out! I can’t wait to hunt with you! Beat demo magnamalo (after 57 tries) and have been practicing every weapon so I am totally prepared!!

noice! hit me up anytime you want to hunt! sadly i ran out of tries before i beat him, but mainly because i was always playing with randoms. doesn't help that all the pre-made loadouts sucked. still, i know his patterns, and feel like i'd destroy him come the actual release.

If you still want to give it a shot, you can reset the demo tries by deleting the save files.

System Settings > Data Management > Delete Save Data(at very bottom) > select MHR demo

This will reset your tries back to 30 and you can do this as many times as you want!

nah. like i stated, i'm not a fan of pre-made armor sets/skills. i'm ready to take mag out on my own terms.

And that's perfectly fair! He's going to go down way easier too since we'll actually have decos and skills on our armor and such. Should still be a fun fight, I'm looking forward to it :D

yeah, pc players gotta wait till sometime next year. makes me wonder if, seeing how it's only gonna be on switch and pc, it if "might" get crossplay. that would be interesting. and sorry to burst your bubble, but i believe they stated that no new weapons will come out for this generation. tonfas seem like they will exclusively be to that game, just like prowlers to generations ultimate.

i prefer physical all the way. i trust the developers of the game, but ever since some publishers stated that "buying a digital game doesn't mean you own it", i've been very worried.

I've had the game on pre-order since the initial announcement... I sadly started on World, but picked up GU, and both feel like totally different games. In World I mained the IG through the main story and SA through all of Iceborne, and post story I did mainly SA and now I've found the wonders of the Bow.

Even trying to hunt Magnamalo in this new demo is SOOO frustrating... But finally! A new challenge!

yeah, mhgu is a compilation, and at this point, a send off for the old style of monster hunter gaming. seems like from world forward, it's gonna be the new style of gaming. and i'm both an IG and LBG main.

i can't imagine it being bigger than world, but i do understand the tradeoff it'll get. mhw has the graphical aspect, where as mhr might get the content, but who is to say. don't underestimate the switch.

same, though i ran out of things to do in it (4,000+ hours). knowing how addicted i can get with the series, i tried beating as many backlog games as i could before rise comes out.

Might be a couple weeks before I get my copy, but this will be my first time jumping into the series. Played a lot of Final Fantasy Explorers, which I understand was somewhat similar, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one, too!

it is... kinda. i would say monster hunter is more like the souls series, but only with bosses, weighty combat, and no exploration.

That just sounds awesome!! I love Dark Souls and Bloodborne, so if it's similar to those, I am so down!!! ^^

yus! and the grind of killing monsters to make stronger weapons and armor to fight even bigger monsters gets VERY addicting! especially when playing with friends.
