I found out today that the Six Flags Mall in Arlington Texas where I was born and grew up as a kid is being demolished. This Mall opened in August 1970. The area around it was full of eateries and shopping including Target, Sears, Toys R Us, JC Penny, etc. I passed it many times as a kid and young driving adult and watched the area slowly die and fade into history. It saddens me to know I will never see any of it ever again..... CRIES!!!! I know its just inanimate things but it was part of my childhood that I loved to see while riding with my mom in her 1965 Ford Fairelane, and Aerostar van. I really hate change..... I want to just scream sometimes..... I miss the things that we used to have and really dislike a lot of the crap that we have today. I could use some hugs friends please......

Things around us change all the time and it's out of our control to keep them the same... some of them get replaced with something even better though. So maybe your area will get something even better in its place that you can enjoy now as an adult. Better than seeing the old place be vacant, right?

The shopping mall industry was heavily hit after 9/11 and it never recovered. When I worked as a consultant/assistant manager/manager between 2000 to 2007 the company I worked for had its last good year in 2000. Never did that store ever achieve the same sales it had and it was a yearly decline afterwards. That same mall today has lost Nordstroms and Sears and only has Macy's and JCPenney as anchors.
Online shopping in the past decade has merely driven the knife farther in.
I've not shopped at this mall in over two years even though it's close and convenient. Today it's only useful for females between 15 and 22 who get a big allowance from daddy.
*hugs*
think I read it was already demolished in 2016 already
