Wife: Dig out some of these larger weed roots in this flower bed.

Me: Sure thing....(start digging with hand shovel....thinking: Hmm, these black crumbly bits look like charcoal...and burned glass, there was a house fire here 30 odd years ago...,,.is that quicklime?.....Oh? Big stone?...how big?....A nice six inch length of concrete.....what is this stuff?....looks like.....Spent coke? This place has an old coal chute....Or did someone do some blacksmithing here once?.... according to the lot registry or whatsitcalled this land was a blank lot....at the time the original homeowner who built this place bought it, doesn’t mean it was always empty. Could have been anything 50 years before that. ...Well, that’s a lovely glaze on that pottery shard, Orange with blue showing underneath......Huh, a metal pipe?...how big around is it?....
