I've been thinking about Nebby's design recently
4 years ago
Your probably wondering how I'm typing this with giant cartoon gloves for hands...
I'm fine with the design for the most part, but one area of the design has been on my mind for the past few days, specifically the ears.
As you've probably seen before (unless this is your first time seeing my profile, in which case, welcome!), Nebby's left ear has blue and purple stripes, while his right ear has purple dots, and it's always been that way since I first created him. But now I'm not so sure about the ears anymore.
I designed Nebby with the idea of standing out among other fursonas, and I wanted to make him look as unique as possible, and so I tried to incorporate as many patterns as possible to give of the idea that he was a plushie that was made out of various materials.
But recently I've considered changing the ears, as I'm beginning to think they look obnoxious. I think this part of Nebby's design is trying too hard to stand out and be unique, to the point that it looks tacky. I've considered replacing them with a tartan design, that way it will match the nose, but to do that I'll actually, y'know, learn how to draw tartan.
I dunno. I want to keep the same design I've had all these years since I first designed him, but I also think that the design is tacky.
What do you guys think?
