Tales of Anima Update
Hey everyone! I've been working hard on my web-comic Tales of Anima for the past few months and its going really well. At this point I have a release date for the comic which is going to be in early may. I think I can probably launch it in the first week of that month actually as there isn't much left to do. The first chunk of Anima that will be released is the "prologue" which takes place before the main story actually begins. The prologue was designed to stress test my workflow and get experience with making a large comic project.
Tales of Anima's main story is about a 20 year old pro gamer who falls into a magical portal to another realm called "Anima" and finds himself turned into a dragoness. He meets many friends and foes as he quests to manage the incendiary emotions of his new draconic body and return home to his old life and form. Little does he know, however, of his draconic heritage and how some wicked individuals on Anima plan to exploit it for their own gain.
At first I wasn't sure about what it would be like to make a comic entirely in 3D, but the workflow has proven to be really fun. In the beginning I had to model allot of assets so pages came slowly, but once the characters were modeled/rigged and the settings were developed the actual page work started to fly by. As far as writing is concerned, this is the first time in my life that I've tried to develop a large story and its been challenging to say the least. Sometimes writing would come easy, but other times it seemed impossible to know what to do and I'd find myself "blocked" as they say. It is certaintly rewarding though and I enjoy the process however it comes.
Hope you're all having a good spring. Its almost summer! Whoo!
