The Song that defines the 2000's
My friend and i were talking the other day at work about random stuff (mostly music) and we reached a question that stumped us completly. Is there a song released in the last 7 years that is truely a song that in another 10-20 years almost everyone will remember? From previous decades there are songs that most people remember vividly (Bohemian Raphsody by Queen, Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin...Hell, even Thunderstruck or Highway to Hell by AC/DC.) but I couldnt really think of one single recent song and niether could my friend. So im turning to you guys to maybe help me answer this puzzling question. Post your songs that you think will truely stand the test of time. ^^

"American Idiot" by Green Day could be a possible candidate IMO

OP
we thought of that one but we didnt think it would count cause not all people like green day, but it could be considered to be a defining song
