These modern bulbs are becoming all kinds of intelligent. Smart phone connected. Battery Back up for power outages. Color changing. Options like that are available. And being LED's, they 'should' be pretty darn reliable for years. Just one thing that I've seen on them is they say to avoid being put into recessed fixtures. They do put out a bit of heat and the type of fixture either lets it vent safely or collect the heat...which I presume is deemed unsafe. So, just a heads up on that. These smart bulbs aren't designed for every kind of light fixture.
