I need to be honest, I'm not doing so good.

Libra Labs Update! Thanks for being there for me since the start and I appreciate it a lot. But, I'm falling on hard times and I feel like they are only getting worse.
Apologies for being extra dramatic about it, but I don't know where to turn or who to ask for help. I'll keep it short for the most part. I recently found out that I owe $8300 in taxes. ($6K Federal, $2K state) Plus, I got another bill from the IRS, saying that there was a miscalculation on their part and I owe an extra $900 in taxes...
Also at the same time, I need to apply for citizenship because I desperately need Medicaid/other health programs. (I'll explain why in a bit) I recently got a call from my attorney about it and I was quoted.... $1100 for the application, $1900 for the attorney to file it for me, $900 for him to be at the interview, and $500+ for the actual citizenship test...
Edit #1 (I called the attorney to check on the prices again... It got worse)
Green Card application cost:
$1760 Application
$1930 Attorney's Fee
$16 Credit Card Fee
$950 (optional)
$130-230 (if additional evidence needed)
$500-600 (Medical exam?)
I can thankfully pay 2020 taxes in chunks, but... the cost of the citizenship application... Well... it's too much. The cherry on top is that I've started getting health issues. The whole area of my shoulder, neck, back, and chest... have been starting to ache. Stinging, pulling sensations on my shoulder, dull aches in my trapezius muscle, and pulling/stinging sensation where my neck meets my clavicle as well as popping sensations when I move my arm a certain way. Soo... yeah...
There are friends that are helping me with a few things and a couple of friends that want to help financially with medical costs.
Do not worry, I'm not about to go homeless or anything. This has set back my plans a couple of years and I have to be more aware of taxes and now to take them out of any income I make from now on. If you can help with advice, like my business can be more efficient or how to manage taxes better, it's well welcomed.
Once I have my green card... I won't have to worry about this happening any minute:

Good luck, bud
If you dont have citizenship and have health issues.... why not moving to another country?
Maybe with even better taxes in the corner you work in. (For exambles, there are countrys were freelance artist dont need to pay taxes)
Sometimes it is better to do a great step, instead of trying to hold on, on something.
Wouldn't any reform be:
1) Communist
2) Socialist
3) Liberalist
4) Non-Capitalist
5) Cut down on entrenched interests
6) potentially be reasonable and sensible
I think point 6 alone ensures that there is a huge inertia against changing anything...
I pray that your health and financial problems will be taken care soon.
You have those that supports you.
We wish you good luck and take care.
I made it to show that I like your art ^w^
*Hugs and snuggles* ^w^
How do you owe taxes if you don't have citizenship?
How do you have a Social Security Account and not be a citizen?
Because if that's the case, those taxes might not even be yours.
I have a Social Security Number from being part of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a United States immigration policy that allows some individuals with unlawful presence in the United States after being brought to the country as children to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation. It would have changed to just 1 year and cost twice as much if a certain president would have been re-elected.
Oh, trust me, they are mine.
To save yourself from having to deal with such a large tax bill, make sure you're paying your Quarterly Estimated Taxes to both the feds and state. You end up paying less in the long run, AND if you overestimated, you get a refund.
If you have a job that gives you a W-2, make sure you fill out your W-4 with extra cash to withhold (the IRS gives you a witholdings calculator) and submit it, for both the state and the Feds. The nice thing about W-4s, is you can submit them anytime.
But seriously, the quarterly estimated tax thing is very, very important in saving money in the long run.
Here's a link to the IRS (The form you want is the 1040-ES, unless you're a corp): https://www.irs.gov/businesses/smal.....stimated-taxes
I don't know what state you're in, but if you do a search for "Estimated Taxes" and your state, you should be able to find the same page, and given a link to their Estimated Tax site or a site with that form for that state.
And for those that are curious, as long as you're within $1,000 or 90% of the current year's tax (whichever is smaller), no penalty is applied.
