This is a bit of a sticky wicket.

First and foremost: the arbiter of what you should or should not post is always you. You have to adjust that to your comfort zone and the preferences for this account.

I do think it's fair to point out that uploading commissioned art on a writing-focused account can definitely have a tendency to crowd out your writing. Since FA generally tends to emphasise visual art over written stories.

That said, as someone who uploads very nearly every piece of art, I also really revel in the chance to share my artwork and find out that other people love my ideas and characters as much as I do. So for me, it's very validating and definitely makes me happy to know that there are others out there who like what I get. So on that front, I can definitely speak in favour of coming out of your own shell: try uploading a few things and see how it feels. If you like it and the reactions you get, keep doing it, if you don't like it, don't do it, simple as that.

As to what to do? Up to you. If you are bothered by the possibility of crowding out your own writing, I would suggest the possibility of creating an alternative account for your commissions. That said, that can be an annoyance to manage, and for a lot of people, I can very much understand how that would be a huge inconvenience.

So TL;DR: I'd say give it a try, but if you don't like it, just remember that you are the arbiter of what you do with your art and your account, and you shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable on your own little space here. But all the same, sometimes it helps to get out of one's comfort zone.

Yeah I'm leaning towards just giving it a shot and posting some pictures now and then to see what comes of it. I'll mess with folders and put em in scraps so they won't distract too much from the purpose of this little slice of the site, organized either by individual characters, or groups of related characters to reduce the potential clutter.

I personally don't get much out of posting them (probably why I never bothered with posting them in the first place), but I really would like to show my characters to others and get them interested in their stories. Apparently people love them, so I should return that love by revealing them to others. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it.

It really depends on what you want to get out of sharing it?

You could 'post some' in the form of one or two pieces a character and link between them and the stories in the descriptions.

I pretty much just want to show off my roster and maybe get some eyes to look a story or two while they're here.

Thinking about it, I don't really plan to post every single one of them because that's a lot pictures and this place would just turn into an art gallery. I'll likely post some, the ones I like most and best show them off, and link a relevant story about them in the description like you say. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

You could keep your galleries separate in the form of the Gallery & Scraps tabs, that way the main focus will be on your writings and the scraps would be to showcase the character gallery. The downside of that is you can't organise your scraps into specific folders (And, everything would be referred to as a scrap, which it isn't :<).

Alternatively you could post artwork pertinent to a story, and have the story beneath it?

I think you can organize the contents of your scraps into folders? I've placed my character profiles there and they're in a folder of their own, so that seems to work. I'll fiddle around with it and see if I can organize things by character or character bunch.

The occasional picture in scraps is what I'm leaning towards personally, if only to get a feel for it. I'll toy around with making folders for characters and we'll see what happens. Thanks!
