Baby's First Surgery
I mean, not technically my first but the last time I had it I was like... two years old.
I know I've mentioned this in Other Places but I might as well share here too. I had surgery yesterday!
The good news is: I do not have tissue lining where it is not meant to be
Bad News is: I hurt a whole bunch
We did confirm that I do have something that I already knew I had, but there was a moment where we thought it had receeded so even the specialist I've been working with went "uh yea honestly I thought it had receeded as well so it was a surprise for me too".
Some Fun™ moments from yesterday:
- The nurse in charge of giving me the anaesthesia got Very frustrated at not being able to find the veins in my hand, eventually just stabbed and boy did I bleed
- I remember coming around after surgery, only because I suddenly got very aware of the breathing tube in my throat. I think I was choking on it a little, I was beginning to throw my head to the side. I have strong memories of just repeatedly swearing. I opened my eyes to about three nurses around me, one taking out the tube. I managed to thank them for taking it out through gasps. I'm glad to know that my first response even coming out of anaesthesia is to be polite.
- When I became more aware, I said "I'm sorry for all the swearing" but APPARENTLY I hadn't said a thing? So we think I dreamt it
- I got given a lot of toast to eat afterwards which was great because I was starving, but oh my God that's the worst food to eat when your throat is bone dry. My throat is still killing me but hey ho
Other than being slow and sore, I'm feeling good! My brain is where it needs to be I'm just feeling impatient with my body. I like to have daily walks so this is kinda frustrating to be bound.
And of course a big thank you to HydroCheetah for picking me up and looking after me for a while. I really appreciate it!

I noticed that I got out of bed much faster than yesterday this morning so we're on our way!!!
