It's been well over a year since I last posted...sorry guys!
Since then, I had given away all of my markers cuz I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to come back to doing furry art again, but they all went to some very art-potential girls who are well on their way to becoming awesome artists themselves, so I'm glad they're making use of them.
I've been going to a new therapist for my depression and I'm slowly....very slowly....convincing myself I want to do furry art again. Yeah, how about that? After a year of giving away all my markers XD Well, that's life, eh?
A few days ago, I ordered new markers. This time, Winsor & Newton brush markers. I'm just waiting for them to come in the mail now. I also have W & N inking pens now too. I've only used them a few times and I really liked how they handled inking :)
Now...I gotta say, this doesn't mean I'll be taking commissions. I want to work on my self confidence, and help build myself back up first before I commit to this and even decide to take on commissions again. IF....and that's a really big IF...I decide to take on commissions again, I'll let you guys know.
I literally haven't done any serious furry art in years now. I HAVE done some drawings and doodles (aside from my medieval stuff), and..it's kinda weird cuz even though I haven't drawn much, it DOES feel like I'm a bit better. Which doesn't make much sense to me, cuz I always thought one can get better if they practice? I dunno XD
But anyways. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm still around. I still only rarely check FA these days, only once in a blue moon, really. I'll do some practicing once I get my new markers and maybe I'll post the results once they're done. We'll see :)
How are you guys doing? Let me know in the comments, cuz I feel like I'm soooo out of touch with the fandom right now; I actually felt like no one would really remember me, or I've turned into one of those "has-been" artists. But, anyways =P

I'm still working on convincing myself to draw more myself, so I'm right there with you. I don't know if it's depression at my age. Maybe I've just gotten lazy.

Been decidedly up and down the last fourteen months. Covid sucks, Long Covid sucks.
I used to go by S@sha in Furcadia if you're not sure who this is, it's been a long time. I hope you and your family are well. :)
Haha I'm absolutely one of those has been artists at this point but oh well. I couldn't really do anything about literally going blind and even my therapists so far don't have much they can do to try and mend the rift that happens when your body fails in such a devastating way. I can still technically draw but the ease of it and the trust I had in it is gone. Ah well. I hope I can get better eventually but that's a very big maybe. I'm glad you're still around and wanting to do art though! :)
I'll try to be more active here on FA, cuz it's been forever since I've been here regularly but...yeah XD

Could just be a temporary burn-out from having done so many of them - could explain your itch to do furry art, too. It's something different-yet-familiar. X3
And yes, please, do take things one step at a time. Otherwise, it's either jumping or falling on your face... and we certainly do not want the latter. XD

contextMore to the point, I remembered a few folks I used to follow on LJ had a FA account, so once I signed up I tracked down who I could. You were one of those people. =3
I don't want to say that giving away the markers was for the best, but my understanding is that they can dry up over time. Instead of that unfortunate outcome, they've found a new home that will make good use of them and they will potentially inspire a new generation of muses.
I'll certainly look at whatever art you chose to post.
Plus, I've been really been in the mood to draw and colour with markers again, and after seeing several YouTube videos that I subscribed to, as well as telling this with my therapist, that pretty much sealed the deal that I wanted them again. And it felt good to buy them, too :) I'm just waiting for them to come in the mail now :)
I'm doing okay and started a new job in late April. Things are looking good and I think I'm in a good spot.
