Contemplation

With me trying to learn to draw I've been contemplating posting up my step by step progress on either here or deviantArt, but my skills are still very lacking so I find myself not really wanting to do that. Right now I'm still pretty basic, but also I find I really need to post it up so I can see for myself how far along I'll be going with each step.
So I've just been wondering if I should do that, but right there'd be nothing furry about what I draw and most of it would be pretty meaningless.
Oh well, I guess what happens will happen.

I've found that a good way to practice faces is to just print off pictures from the internet and trace over them a few times, till you learn the strokes.
I'm guessing you're doing perspective at some point as well, since it's pretty straightforward to figure out, and that basic drawing classes tend to teach that first thing (at least, mine did).
I implore that you keep going with your artwork dude, practise really does make perfect. The best way would be to find books or tutorials on anatomy and proportion, if you can get that down pat, you're well on your way to being a hell of an artist. You can even try to find some sort of part time class for life drawing. That's how I did it, and it helped me tremendously.
And don't for one second think that anything you draw is meaningless, it doesn't have to be furry to be fun to do :3
But yeah, I just don't know how great it'd be to fill my scraps with drawings of my hand, chairs and the like. XD;
Also your teacher hit the mark with "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain", that's an excellent book. A couple that really helped me through college were "Anatomy Lessons of the Great Masters" and "Atlas of the Human Anatomy for the Artist". The latter is more a medical analyzation but goes in depth of every part of the body, inside and out.
What i'm saying is, don't feel discouraged by your current level of ability, you WILL get better if you practise. And by posting your work, you can let other artists help you through the process by way of contructive criticism and opinion. If it's art, it's worth posting, even in scraps :3
