A thing's happening that I never thought I'd see.

Granted, it is something that I have loosely theorized might happen under the right circumstances.
Anyhow, I was heading over to pick up the Outrun machine and as I drove by all these franchise places, so many of them were posting signs about how they were all currently hiring. And listing at what the wages were to be. Some on signs as big as their literal company logos.
It seems that for whatever reason is currently in play, unemployment is paying better then all these common wage jobs are. And some of those common jobs are listing at around $20 an hour, mind you. Unemployment's beating that amount. So, every lazy bum out there is vastly preferring to go for the bigger pay day and do nothing over actually getting...or worse yet...keeping a real job.
There's good reason why some people need that unemployment fund to keep them from falling into the homeless situation. But...this free money shouldn't be KO'ing the work force, in the process. There's reasons that people have always needed to do their part for the whole of the community. And if people are preferring to get rich the lazy way over doing their part, the system could just fall apart. Imagine going to the grocers to buy the weekly pantry stocks, only to find barren shelves. Or going out to dine and finding barely one chef on duty. Wanting to buy something with that free cash...only to see it sold out, as the truck drivers all quit. This almost feels like a bad science fiction plot to help push the automation of the whole system. Not that automation hasn't always been a threat in taking over the traditional jobs, as it is. But, to give competition to the former work force and force employers to seek out alternatives. We could wind up in a spiraling situation that drops the value of the whole nation, maybe the whole world, in record time. This band aid approach of revitalizing the economy feels like a very dangerous game to play.
Maybe this super bonus unemployment deal is just weeks away from vanishing, much like the fad of buying TP by the forest load. But, I can't help but theorize what the deuce is truly going on here.

1) the average unemployment "benefit" is ONLY $200-$300 even with an "extra" $300 that's still bellow a living wage. The "higher" wages are usually"stock options" or "tuition bonuses". (I got totally fucked back in college working for a fedex clone. They "payed" $15/hr but in reality they payed $14/hrand held back/"put in account" $1/hr "for tuition"...but ONLY IF you worked a full 25 hrs a week...guess how many hours you were ALLOWED to work...)
2) ALL unemployment IS taxable some states automatically take taxes BEFORE you get the check.(The one time I was able to get unemployment. Fla did this 20 years ago. The other time The company lied and I got fucked, but I'd found another job OUT OF STATE by then so meh...)
3) Corporations usually get tax breaks for "jobs" not filled. The hotel I worked for in '09-'10 did this ALL the time.As the desk clerk I was supposed to hand out applications and tell the people to return them them wait for the fone call. The company never called them. even for the people who were qualified. They WOULD hire illegals...then threaten them if they wanted honest pay. (Most adds are even tax deductible) so most companies post adds saying they've got "positions open" but never hire for them. (I have no doubt the PPP loans work the same way.)
4) The very idea that people are EN MASS not working is fucking insane. People are MUCH MORE greedy than lazy.
5) the nazis in charge now are accelerationalists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerationism) they WANT to crash the economy so they can have the "great reset"/digital dollar/social credit score (I hate to agree have with the bible thumpers, but they were right about the "beast" system...it wasn't a chip under the skin, it was a chip in your fone.)
We need to be united but there's too much tribalism going on...
I honestly think we've crossed the Rubicon and there's no way out...
Best wrap this up. I'm running out of time. Got a time clock to punch and all that. Do my usual bit of mind numbing work and try not to think beyond that.
