Just got a call from OFFICIALLY my dad!
The dna results only JUST went through apparently, and Benny Camera IS my father. Which brings me a great deal of relief.
Mom was -fairly certain- but I just needed the confirmation.
My identity has been so lost my whole life. But I would much rather have a dad who was an empowered firefighter, and industrial construction worker (builds skyscrapers!!!), than a lazy beach bum who couldn't be bothered to give me a phone call, or even acknowledge me on skype. Feels a lot better knowing my medical history too. And having someone I can ask for advice from. Having a real parent. I know that is ludicrous at age 32, but I never knew. And I didn't want to burden him if I wasn't his blood relation.
I feel so much better.
It's been a hard 24 hours though.
Learned our debt is MUCH higher than previously known. I need to start bringing home at least $125/month to start paying off student loans when those resume, or we might actually be in trouble. Mookie's medical bills were just the start it turned out v v.
So I need to start finding ways to sell my art. I love what I do, but I need others to love what I do too.
I was brainstorming and researching last night till probly 1 am. Came across some ideas for cheaper commissions people might actually want; but wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on this daydream/scatter plot in my head.
1.) Stickers. I actually really love stickers. They're fun and cute! But the cost to make them physical is risky. So I will start by offering custom digital sticker pages with up to 10 stickers for $6
2.) Naughty close ups (this is something I've been trying to push through ych: easy little booty pics and close ups on the body etc. Not sure if anyone is even interested though).
3.) Free quick sketches in exchange for boosts; I REALLY do need to start making some monitary contribution at home, but I barely have any traction.
4.) Buttons. This has the same draw back as the stickers, but I'm under the impression I could even make them in my condition. Biggest issue would be getting prints made. But I loved the idea of making cptsd awareness buttons and stickers; little reminders that we are okay regardless of our trauma. Various inspirational posters too. I even love making specialized encouragment posters with various techniques to help calm the mind; cause there are SO many different calming excersizes, and everybody uses different kinds. This would be a very special project. And I'm not sure I'm even up for it honestly. This cold spring kicked my ASS!
5.) PATREON. I am so nervous about patreon since I struggle with the guarentee of my work: what with the garden and various stresses triggering flare ups. BUT! I truly want to continue to pursue my dream of being a paid porn artist. I just love what I do here, and want to keep going.
6.) Monthly free icons in exchange for boosts. I really enjoyed my icons for watchers campaign I did over on my Summer Bunny account, and want to offer it here too. Icons are quick and easy to make. They also really cheer me up! "I DID SOMETHING!"
I might make that an opening feature for $1 contributors on my patreon page.
7.) Custom twitch icons! I actually made some for my husband on his stream, and want to keep developing this skill. I figured I could do a one day stream and offer free twitch icons till I really feel confident I know what I'm doing: they have more limits than fa icons. 40×40 pixels instead of 100×100.
I need the practice!
And actually those are most of my ideas so far. I would really appreciate any input on this. I am beyond determined to stop lurking in the shadows and truly pursue my dream (which actually has been my most stable dream since I was a kid: thus I kept posting here ^ ^).
