How much are you willing to pay for a commission?

I'm just being curious about the average money people would be ready to spend for a complete commission. More the time goes and more I see artists increasing their prices compared to when I joined this site few years ago.
I know the furries are a juicy market with people having quite well filled pockets but I think this shouldn't be a reason. If all artists does the same then commissioning a furry artist would become too elitist for most people (actually like what fursuits are). I know setting a price on art is very subjective, it depends on the level, amount of time spent on the work, but I can't help but telling myself many artist are just simply abusing (especially those who prefers quitting doing commissions to the profit of auctions).
So how much would you spend for a commission? Let's say a single character, colored, full shaded with med or complex background
Personally I could go up to 150 - 200$, again the price is subjective and i'm nobody to judge, but higher than 200 for a single character just seems to reach out of decency to me.
What about you?

Nah, depends on the quality and the amount of work that goes into it. Hard to say really.
(Personal opinion: I also feel may artists underprice themselves for their work, but that's a whole other conversation...)
For 1000$ you could've had for example a good gaming PC or even a luxurious Swiss watch, at none moment in my mind I tell myself I want to pay 1000$ (literally half an average salary in most of countries) for a drawing xD
Maybe i'm just reasoning like an average (or even poor) guy? I know furries can be a passion and we never count (money) for a passion, but in your deepest mind, are you completely convinced a drawing is absolutely worth so much money?
I completely understand that many people are tight on money and can't afford such expensive artwork, but also keep in mind some of these people are professionals, and like other professionals, they've earned the right to a proper living wage. Thankfully, there are other artists who do it mainly for the pleasure, so will charge a lot less as they don't depend on it as their main income. (That being said, I will reiterate I think some people way undercharge for their work. )
Im just really poor right now.
