What does being "Christian and conservative" have to do with talking animals?
It's almost like characters, much like people, are multi-faceted and declaring a part of someone, fictional or not, as irrelevant looks incredibly insane.
Perpetuating stereotypes - often harmful - of said talking animals and the people behind them. In other words, pandering to a small-ish part of the community that has the potential to spectacularly backfire...then again, if you're not part of the community, what are you doing here anyway? (Some non-furry users - a couple of whom I watch - notwithstanding, but still.)
