Anyone have any advice for back pain?
I have scoliosis, hyperlordosis and sciatica and the pain is driving me crazy ;^;
I've been seeing a chiropractor for the past 2 weeks however i feel like they have made my pain worse. I can't walk or move properly without intense nerve pain shooting through my body. Even sitting/sleeping is painful. I feel like i might have a herniated disk but i'm not sure? I've been using ice packs, a massage ball and have been doing stretches given to me by my chiro, but nothing is helping.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar?

Do not see a ciropractor. They will make it worse and you will end up clutching on them for the rest of your life.
Physical therapy is your BEST bet. Hot water bottles and naproxen are good for the nerve pain as is going for walks and doing yoga.
Theres plent of sciatic routines you can follow on YouTube! Ive found this helps a LOT for my pain
I have tried physio before but it didn't help, the chiropractor told me that the curve in my spine needs to be corrected before physio will help me :s
I haven't been on naproxen as anti-inflammatories hurt my stomach, but maybe i should try them. At the moment i take co-codamol and gabapentin for the pain but they aren't even touching it. I'll definitely have a look for the videos, i'm up for trying anything! Thank you so much for the advice i really appreciate it!
i chiropractor is not a doctor or a specialist though. a spinal surgeon/specialist should be something you seek out if you haven't already. their opinion on how to move forward should be more important than a chiropractor who wants your money.
physio is a long and tough road and takes a lot of effort afterwards to get through. its painful but it helps you strengthen the muscles to help support you instead of relying on your spine. its more corrective and way less invasive than surgery and usually does not require someone twisting/pulling/popping you around ":)
I'm on gabepentin as well, the dosage might be a bit low for you?
the anti-inflamitories should only be taken when its bad and you should really eat with them to help them be easier on your stomach :)
you're very welcome!! i hope it helps you in some way!!
i also see someone mentioned massage therapy - these are good ways to help you relax and unwind but shouldn't be relied on as corrective measures!
Thank you for all of your advice, it really is a big help to me! ♥
all the best! ^^
I have simular problems but honestly not so serious like yours. When I have back pain I doing a little warm-up mpre often but considering your words... I don't think it can be helpful
Also my aunt says, if you take massage therapy it would be painful at first 'couse your muscles are rigid
I don't have any of that, that I'm aware of... But I have back pain often and usually just resting in as neutral position as possible and stretches helps me. But that's not the same. You could try a different Chiropractor, try physical therapy or a massage specialist.
