Hey y'all, I got Patreon now!
https://www.patreon.com/thatworgen
Does this mean there's going to be exclusive content now?
No, this is purely if you just want to support me. I will never lock any content including hi-rez versions of my art behind Patreon. The only benefit you get is just an access to Patreon-only channel on my discord server with me occassionally posting a WIP and such to keep things fair.
Why?
Simple. Servers cost money and there's a lot of you now.
What are the juicy technical details as of why?
I've been self-hosting thatworgen.art on two rented dedicated servers (Not a fancy HA cluster, just manual DNS switch if main box goes dead while secondary holds backups. Nginx scary.) for cheap, but the influx of people is causing load issues on the weak hardware and causing the 100mbps link to get saturated even with Cloudflare in place (only 50% of traffic is cached with CDN and running backups just straight up kills it). Recently I've been getting random reboots on one of the servers (if you're in my discord you probably saw that I got woken up by multiple emails about server being kaput from my provider) and the distro I use is EoL in 6 months (Thanks Redhat), so its time for an upgrade. Plan is either to with scalable VPS or a more beefy dedicated server that actually has iKVM and gigabit link.
