Not a great start to the week, as a rather large chunk of Tegan's tail has broken off near a spot that had been broken when he was much younger. The good thing is (and I'm relieved to find out), that it snapped off at a fracture point where there is only fat, skin, and pin-bones.
Don't worry, it will grow back. I'll post a couple photos on his page soon. Go check him out.

I would understand Gallo's reasons for being worried. My own lizard's tail came off twice throughout the course of his stay with me.

According to numerous online sources, it's not unusual for a juvenile's tail to break off occasionally, and it should grow back quickly.

Yes, but when it happened the second time, I could swear I saw Aluze munching on something after his tail came off. And there weren't any crickets in his terrarium when that happened. O_o

I fed him his tail, and he had no qualms about eating it immediately, even though he saw it break off. I figure it's just a natural form of recycling. It's just fat and nutrients anyway.
