I have not, no. Just one of those cases where i never really had a reason to make a trip there yet.

Joking aside, not really aiming to be the very best or anything (whatever that would even mean with art) , but trying to get better, figure out how i can do this or that thing better is fun. Or well, not necessarily always fun, but engaging at least.

When you do a piece of your own characters, do you tend to feel an unique attachment to that piece?

To some degree. They are different than working on commissions, yes, but i'm not sure if attachment is the right word. It's more just that the fact that i'm drawing whatever i want and i don't have to back-and-forth with a commissioner produces a bit of a more natural and fluid feeling process to those paintings. And that of course i like Nomax as a character, and it's always nice to see art of him, whether drawn by me or others, and also hearing what others think about it, if they enjoy it or what have you.

If you had absolute creative freedom, and enough time and money, what would you like to draw/work on?

What are your favourite subject or themes to draw?

Hmmm, it's hard to answer because i actually to some extend need commission work. I don't mean in the monetary sense but just after about a month or so of working on my own stuff i run out of ideas. Just the tank is empty and it starts to become more of a drag.
So i don't think there is this one big thing i would want to work on, but just that freedom every now and then to have a month or so to do whatever would be fun. (like i had recently, which is why there were so many Nomax themed pictures all of a sudden and now with commissions starting up it'll be quiet in that regard again. :') )

And as for themes, i do like historical and nautical themes quite a bit, and just generally more grounded and calmer stuff. Not necessarily like hardcore accurate historical/nautical stuff but ya know, just a little sprinkle of hey, maybe an old bathhouse, oh character on a beach with some small boats. That kinda stuff.

Ah, interesting! A lot of your art looks very... peaceful to me, even when the characters or scenarios are dynamic. It's not a bad thing at all, it's one of the things I like about your art! 😄

Hmmm, i mean i got the cheetah woman which i still quite enjoy, and i do also kind of want to make a maned wolf character at some point but, my character list is small enough so that pretty much all the ones i get to draw are favourites. :D

I do actually! Generally speaking prey species just never are quite as high up the ladder for me. Just something about their design doesn't resonate fully compared to many of the predator species around, but Okapis are one of the few that are quite nice with that deep brown going into the stripes.

Do you prefer McDonald's or Burger King?

Burger King with the whopper just has to win there (unless they ruined it in the 10 years or so since i last had it :') ).

For a fully detailed single person commission with background, how long would you say you spend on the average peice?

Always hard to give an exact hour count with the way i switch back and forth between pictures and such, but i would assume about 20 hours is probably a good bet.

Should you trust armadillos?

Never! You're all nice talking to one and next thing you know they turle up and roll down the hill with your credit card!

do you feel like you've found your style?

Yes and no, yes in that i have, but no because i don't think style is ever really something you just settle on. It just constantly evolves as you as a person and your tastes, preferences, and also the art around you and the ideas other artists bring in change.
That might not be a drastic evolution but just picking up stuff here and there to add, or maybe you want to just tweak your shadows a little, or maybe you pick the use of purple in certain places etc.

Do you, or would you, work in traditional media?

I do work (badly) with watercolours. But it's just not something i do publically at this stage outside of uploading some stuff to patreon.

What made you decide to make your art a career and what do you feel help drive you to continue in the artistic field and not give up?

i'm just not very good at other stuff. :') Simple as that really. Would be nice if i'd enjoy stuff like coding or what have you, that sounds like a much easier career path with good pay and everything, but here i am!
