Plans for Furry Related Expenses
4 years ago
Well, it's been a while since I wrote a journal and I just want to update my friends, fellow furies, and art lovers on my plans for future artworks (and other furry fandom related things).
First up... I'm broke, there is no more spare cash until I get my student finance at the end of this month. And the amount spare will vary greatly depending on various factors, which I will explain at the bottom of this post.
So here is my list of intentions in no particular order unless numbered;
1. A Blender & VRCHAT model of me (SFW & NSFW)
2. A new VR setup including;
-Pimax 8K X (€1,234)
-2x SteamVR Base Station 2.0 (€597)
-SteamVR Knuckle Controllers (€299)
- 11 point Full Body Tracking ($630)
-Pimax Eye Tracking Module (€229)
- VIVE Facial Tracker (£129)
3. Illustration Artwork of the D&D version of me (SFW & NSFW)
- Artwork of me doing the #JackoChallenge (NSFW)
- Me in bondage with a shy, sexy succubus friend of mine as a leather wearing dominatrix (NSFW)
- Me as a Top/Dom while wearing thigh-high socks (NSFW)
- More emotes! *Fires money gun at emote artist* (SFW & NSFW)
- NSFW YCHs for friends to get some sexy artworks with me. (Looking for artists with styles I like that are cool with many repeat commissions on premade NSFW YCHs with different people.)
- Life-sized dildo...
So why is money a problem even with my student finance?
The root problem started almost two years ago when I started to noticeably experience anxiety. It was there before that, but not having enough of an impact to affect my life on a day-to-day basis, or in a noticeable, singular, larger events.
It got worse, and it started to affect my grades... Of course, I just assumed I was struggling to keep up and shrugged it off, and then it got worse. Eventually, I realised I probably had anxiety and should talk to my doctor, but anxiety doesn't like you doing stressful things...
So it took months for me to finally call my doctor and get myself in therapy and medication.
I am now applying for benefits (PIP), and on updating my student finance so I can claim DSA from them to cover extra expenses that occur in education due to my condition.
PIP can take months to find out if you will receive anything, especially after applications increased due to covid. Hopefully, I should have that sorted out towards the end of October.
But the maximum PIP would give me is around £400/month. So it doesn't make much of a difference to my finances in the short-term.
DSA takes about a month to sort out, once you have medical evidence. I need to get a request letter to my doctor this week and maybe I'll have it before I move back to university at the end of the month.
DSA is super important for me to sort out, because I need additional funding to cover more expensive university accommodation.
I was previously in university accommodation where you shared a flat (Kitchen, Toilets, Showers) with eight to ten others.
Unfortunately, this was one of my stressors, so this year I have been given a studio flat to try and reduce my anxiety so I can continue studying.
However, the difference between the cheap shared accommodation and the studio flat is roughly 75%, or £64.48/week, or £2664/year.
So if I don't get my DSA sorted out then I can't afford the items that make life enjoyable for me, ie. VR, video games, and furry art.
Yet, DSA only offers the additional funding for extra accommodation costs if the accommodation is NOT operated by the university. If the accommodation is operated by the university then they are suppose to cover the difference.
Unfortunately, when I inquired recently, the university said they did not have to subsidise my accommodation because it was not in the same "block" as the others, and therefore no comparison could be made because there is no difference in cost within that block.
Once I get my medical evidence letter I will send it to the student finance body's team with a request for clarification on this, but I suspect from what I've found out online that the university is mistaken and should be covering the difference.
Anyways, thank you to all of my wonderful, supportive, furry friends! Wish me luck!
