Bit of a weird one, but as a theatre nerd I must know, what would you say is your favourite musical?

I don't have one, not into musicals!

You've always been adamant about animal rights, especially against inhumane methods of dealing with invasive species (AKA no glue traps). I'd like to ask...how did that start? Is there any epic story to this defining character trait?

I always had a fondness fot animals as far as I can remember. My parents taught me to respect animals from a young age, and having pets then can teach you a lot about responsibility. I would say that the defining moment for me defending animals was when I was 8 years old, I saw two boys who were a couple of doors down, kicking a helpless mouse around like a football. The mouse was still alive and in obvious distress, so I intervened and punched one of the kids on the nose, I think I broke it. They both ran away, but sadly the mouse passed away shortly after. I bawled my eyes out. Thankfully, I did not get into trouble for it, even the boy's mum sympathised with me and I believe they got into deep trouble for it. Hopefully it was a lesson learned for them. Ever since then, my feelings on how people treat those more helpless than them have been stronger, more passionate.

Cruelty to animals is one of the things that'll trigger me, so if I hear someone being inhumane/abusive to an animal, I'll let them know. With interest.

It was a spur of the moment decision, but one day I was pondering what would the Russian equivalent of the TV detective, Columbo, would be. Thus the name was born, and it stuck. I am not actually Russian, despite the name sounding so!

Any favourite books or movies?

For books, Shadows of the Empire by Steve Perry and the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn as well as the Culture series from Iain Banks. I love my sci-fi.

Movie-wise, my favourite of all time is The Shawshank Redemption, followed by the original Star Wars trilogy, Truman Show and the LOTR trilogy!

None, sadly.

I thought of a late one. Is there anything about Australia you think the rest of the world or particularly the US gets wrong and you would like to clarify?

My first answer (at least for the US) would be a decent healthcare system. We don't have to worry about medical bills going into the tens of thousands of dollars if you're uninsured or unemployed. There's a safety net there for people and I am very grateful that we do have one. Most things are covered by Medicare, whether it be partially or in full. You still have to pay for a dentist though!
