Well, it's your character, so it is your choice.
Well, personally, I don't mind blood and/or gore, since I have seen some disturbing shite.
Also, they can either view it, or ignore it.
Don't let other people affect what you wish to spend your money on.
The second one is too on the nose, but that's just the way I see it.
