Every day, I only hope to improve.

So my trust ol' DTZ-1200W of I dunno how many years now has finally started acting up; screen has been not detecting the pen a couple times and swtiching it off and on fixes it but only for a while , it seems.
looking into a new screen tablet but also want something a little bigger for screen size but not too expensive, open to some suggestions. I have no experience with any other tablets so I'm open to suggestions. I'm looking for reliablility and just-works'ability more than anything and I'm eyeing the XP Pen Artist 22 (2nd Generation), but again I need to look into some possibilities first.
take care out there.

A Wacom is much more expensive because of its technology but the only way to get a Cintiq in a budget is to
buy a used 22 HD or a 22 UX.
I got lucky and found a used 22 HD for $400. I was aiming for those $1000 tablets but saved money.
Avoid Huion which is a China company.
I did my research when i was shopping for a tablet.
XP-Pen and Wacom so far as the best, they are competitors but XP-Pen is good for a budget.
I was debating whether i should go for the 24 Pro or the 22R Pro.

I am presently using an XP Pen Artist 22 ProE. Honestly, I have used a variety of tablets over the years and I don't feel comfortable anymore unless I'm drawing on this one. I have considered upgrading and changing brands once I can afford to, but honestly the reliability alone makes me reconsider. Even if I were to ever upgrade I'd definitely be keeping this and still using it on the side. I have run into issues with it, but that hasn't happened for months, and truthfully I won't go into full details on this post, but they were actually related to how I had plugged it up (In short, it was plugged into my laptop, and it didn't really agree with the ports I used, so I just had to change ports. This may be the issue with your old wacom, troubleshoot if you haven't before throwing it out).
Regardless, XP pen, specifically their Artist 22 have served me well. :) I had been eyeing the kamvas pro and my research lead me to get the XP Pen instead. I think both are fine. But, I'd do whatever fits your budget and plans. If you have any questions or need and specifics, please let me know! I'd be glad to help!
I was leaning toward the artist 16 pro with the stand that can go on a clamp/arm but I didn't want to deal with a battery powered pen as I've never had a good time with battery powered accessories and the pro 16 artist (confusingly similar to the other one) didn't come with an adjustable stand.
I think this size and make should help me decide if I need an even bigger screen size or quality for what I'm doing.
thanks for the input
In regards to the battery-powered pen, I felt similarly. However, I haven't had to charge it yet, and I have used it literally every day for the past 6 or 7 months. I have another tablet whose pen gave me the worst experience, having to charge it every 2 or 3 days.
Either way, congrats on your choice!!! I hope it serves you well, and I think it was a great choice!
