Obama has let Grey Wolves die/Extinction, **Please Read**
16 years ago
I was informed today from a close friend (who is a professional wolf watcher) on a very disturbing matter.
For years, men and woman have hunted wolves. We have killed so many wolves that they have nearly become extinct until a few years ago. A law was passed that gave the wolves protection by severely punishing anyone who harasses the wolves in any way.
For years, wolves have slowly recovered from being hunted so much, being closely watched by scientists and wolf lovers. One of the most famous pack of wolves is called the Cottonwood Pack. They pack is located in Yellowstone national park, and are protected by federal law on two levels; as an endangered species, and under the protection of all animals in Yellowstone. This pack survived and helped immensely in the recovering species.
Were all killed about an hour ago from an executive order from Ken Salazar.Who was given executive power by Obama.
"But he didn't have the power till Obama made him Secretary of the Interior.. now he's making all the changes he wants, and nobody seems to know about it."
My friend, who has been watching this pack for 20 years, just gave me this info. "They've been killing them a month now, all over Idaho."
If you want more information about this, there is a recent news article posted here: http://www.examiner.com/x-18162-Col.....e-its-too-late
Please, send a link to this journal to everyone you know! Higher news sources are not responding fast enough to this crisis. We need to get this info out to people before its to late! Please send this to everyone you know and post it in as many places you can!
Also, I don't care if you help or not. Id prefer if you do. Im not cared about, so I wouldn't be surprised.
And while that cycle is natural. It requires a larger population to support it than currently exists.
This was unnecessary and unneeded. If there was 'any' reason for Wolf culling recently, it would have been done to another pack. This species was protected by two acts, and they were HUNTED, not humanly killed.
Aside from this pack being wiped out, hunting season has been opened on the wolves in Idaho and Montana, since Secretary Salazar has been allowed to make the changes he wishes. He's been fighting for years to be able to freely kill wolves. This isn't a normal cull being used to help support the wolf population. These are illegal actions being taken against endangered animals. The science being used to explain why they are allowing the hunting season is flawed. They have tried saying that the wolf population will hurt the elk population and prevent hunters from getting their prize.. when in fact, the wolf population has been found to be very beneficial to the elk, the wolves picking off the weak and sick, helping to keep the herds stronger. In fact, the Elk have higher numbers this year than they have in decades. The change made in recent years? More wolves.
If scientists were going out and planning where and when to cull to benefit the wolves, I would understand.. but this isn't the case. I don't think the hunters necessarily care to report every kill, or to abide by the few rules they have been given. We really are putting an endangered species on the line here. People need to be aware of the details of what's going on. We need to have eyes on the situation, watching to make sure things don't get out of hand. Lest all the years and money put into building up the wolf population go to waste.
