Only after a decade, I've decided to clean up my FA page and have a bit more of a public facing presence. I noticed I mentioned creating a fursona in my last journal, I guess it only took me 10 years. I'll be uploading some art of him soon. Would like to create a variety of new characters to share. Just feel like being creative recently I guess.

Finally finished another sketch after a while. I realize I have quite a bit to color so far, and rest assured am working on it. Plus, a fursona is in the works for me, so I look forward to finishing it up and turning out some good pieces with it. Now that I've got some practice with my 3 girls, I might draw some reference sheets for them. Just to finish, thanks for the watches, thanks for the favorites, thanks for everything FA!

So, not much to report now, so I'll just say what comes to mind. I have a few sketches left to color, just need to feel like doing it. I'm working on at least one more sketch and have written down all the poses/clothes I'd like to draw characters in. Also, I've recently discovered the awesomeness that is GIMP. I've been messing with it, created an avatar. I'm also recoloring a submission with it and will post it as a comparison. It won't look pretty, because I'm still very new to all that GIMP can do. Other than that, I got my first favorites and another watch, thanks everyone!

Well, I've had a good start so far. I'll use this first post to recap, I have no idea who's even watching me, so I'll just be optimistic and hope at least one person is reading this hehe. I've been doing art for fun and as a challenge. So far, it has indeed been both of those. It's so exciting to think up a character or pose and be able to bring it into reality. Granted, my art still isn't very good, but I'm not aiming to become a professional. My goal is just to create, improve, learn, and contribute. I've been drawing for over a year now, but very sporadically. I was amazed with some of those early pieces when I drew them. When I see them now, I can clearly see all the mistakes I've made. Compared to what I can draw now, I would have never imagined I could improve so much. The same is probably true now. When I look at my current art, it seems unreal that I even drew it, but in a year or two, it will probably seem terrible.

I've had a lot of ideas for characters, and as of now, I have 3 main ones developed. I love drawing Fondant and her features are suprisingly starting to feel natural. I'm at a stage where I'm just trying lots of crazy (for me anyway) poses and perspectives. After I'm satisfied with that, I'll try my hand at things like shading and better coloring techniques. I just use 2 mechanical pencils, colored pencils, and an eraser. I'm sort of limited on supplies, so I'll either have to improvise or invest in some better equipment. You probably also notice that the paper my drawings are on have writing on the back. I use the back sides of papers I get in class to draw on. I was raised to be cheap, so that's what I do. It probably makes the art look tacky, but that's exactly what I'm looking for I guess. Anyway, that's it for now. I'm looking forward to new challenges.
