Over the Last Year
Posted 10 years agoI officially joined FA two years ago. During that time, I had known about FA about a while, but like many things I was hesitant to join. Never understood why though, but I digress. I had trouble sleeping the very early morning of March 31, 2013 because I was super anxious about something, but I can't remember. Anyway, I just decided to join for whatever reason, so I did at around 5 am.
Over the last year, or the past two years, I have rarely encountered negativity during my uncountable visits over a long time and I'm grateful for that which has always served as a reminder to me. A reminder that while people are going to act ridiculous, there is always people who are great.

One Year Ago Today
Posted 11 years agoToday marks one year since I joined FA. I don't normally write journals, in
fact this is my first one. Over the last 12 months I learned many things about people from their stories bith personally and online and here are some things I learned:
1. Nothing is ever what it appears to be
Explanation: A person has people that they interact with on a daily basis. Over this time especially very recently I learned that it can blow your mind when you find out about one's life and struggles. I feel that I know a person well, but after hearing some of those stories my perspective has really shifted so not everything is what is seems.
2. People want things to be alright
Explanation: As people, one wants to assert themself that everything is normal. There will be times where things just happen in some bad scenario and some just freeze. One wants to assume that it is okay and I heard that what happens as a normality bias , but I don't know if that is what really happens. I found that interesting.
3. We have times where we don't always know ourselves
Explanation: I have had times where I feel some desire or problem in my subconscious and I don't know what it is. Or you feel really off for a while or just a day. Switching from thing to thing out of apathy or frustration. This also applied for finding solutions to a problem. Talking has done a lot for me and helps make the connections to find what you're looking for, but it can be difficult.
4. It takes a village to raise a child
Explanation: No matter how independent you may be now, you will have had some people that have helped you along the way. There has been a lot of people that have been helpful in my life than I previously thought.
5. Listen and Understand
Explanation: It can go extremely far if a person is willing to listen and understand. I've dealt with some really stubborn people in my life and I have seen problems stem from it. A lack of understanding can lead to people seriously getting screwed, but there is somethings that we can't control. Things happen and people go on the offense without really knowing, but working to find a solution can do a lot.
