The owner of the site Jason Busby passed away from cancer a while ago and his family recently decided to release all the tutorials for free. These tutorials are high quality and include everything from drawing, to software development, of course focusing on 3dcg.

Hi everyone!

This group is under new management since argy could not maintain it any longer. In my opinion, 3d artwork has been exploding in the past few years, but it is not easy to keep track of artists, and this group could benefit from use again.

In the past this group has consisted of posting 3d artwork, sharing tutorials and reference images, maintaining a list of artists, and I hope to continue those things.

Choosing game engine for is fundamental question at the earliest stage of game creation.
Actually I don't know the answer on this question - there ara 3 main engines UDK, Cry-engine and Unity
For our little furry project we chose UDK - it has pretty good graphics and many-many integrated functios and if you don't know scripts you can try avoid it. It has very powerfull tools for materials and game logic but they are far from easy.
Cryengine has more easy and intuitive material editor and better graphiccs... I dont know about it too much but it's liitle harder to setup right game logic.
Unity... demands more deeper knoweledge in scripting and not so cool shaders but it's more available/

Here I'll tell you about random 3d features like programs, plugins, scripts, etc.
The first one is Marvelous Designer 2 with Clo3d function, Its usefull for simple cloth simulation on anthro-body with realistic wrincles. Than you can export it for making width, optimaizing topology , and use it , as exaple ,in Z-brush or project maps on low-poly. I call it "tool for the lazy" ^^
Another good thing is Plugin for 3Ds Max known as RayFire Just watch this :

Awesome simulation for destructible objects and animation. It was used in many movies and it's easy to find tutorials on this plugin. Car rushing through the wall or wooden planks splitted on finders - you can easily simulate with this tool.

Our character artist shared with me this great collages of human anatomy. He used one well known model from anatomy tutorial and quality scans. It becomes very useful for me for understanding of many anthro body parts and I'm using it every time when starting build base body mesh. Each of this 3 images has a huge dimension 5k+. Hope someone can find this information useful )

Here you can find a lot of useful tips for character and hard surface sculpting, texturing, level design, drawing, etc.. My favourite is - Stylized hand painted diffuse-only textures tutorial. Top artists share their experiences or at least you'll find a lot of inspiration in their works.

All preparing is finished and now, officialy, I can say that 3Dfurs group is starting to work!
First of all we need to decide, what journals must be created in a first place.
I think, it will be good idea to create journal with a list of 3d artists which we can find here . Maybe page with icons and little description - it will be useful for some kind of teamwork and just for discovering of new tallents.
In a plans to make journals for questions and usefull links - one of the primary goal of this group is to sharing experience and helping for other furs to improve their skills.
I want to see more beatiful 3d Art on FA!
