Big Update + Commission Stuff

So I am free from school for now, I got my Bachelor's! I still remember my first year in school which is amazing how time WILL pass by and suddenly boom, you're where you are now. It was very stressful with dubious tasks, meaningless 200-level classes setting the bar higher than your 400-level classes (why???), and getting everything arranged for the future in terms of both your projects and the career you search for. Despite completing the classes and being so engaged in my whole shtick of "assignments first, personal life later," I can actually focus on where I want to go in my career. For now, anywhere is fine with me, honestly. I do fall in the hole of "yeah, you're overworking yourself and your work is great, but you never said what you personally want to do" problem. Or is that just me? .. *cough* I just never took in consideration what I personally wanted to accomplish outside of school I guess. But it's my life and I have to take charge and steer the wheel. So I gotta make plans and milestones for myself and see where that takes me, not only for surviving but to satisfy my personal wants and needs.
Well, that was deep. Err.. ..so uh, GAMES I haven't talked much about those in these journals and I do wanna talk more about them! I've been occupying myself with games I never got around along with recent releases like NiER Automata, DOOM, and a few other releases from last year. I've been keeping my eye out for Night in the Woods and Wonder Boy, I AM gonna get those soon :v But for now, it seems like the bigger releases from AAA devs aren't grabbing my attention anymore. Interesting titles like Scalebound get canned, the horror releases aren't so horrific anymore, and the action-oriented fighters or traveling games are coming in a slow-crawling pace. I'm waiting for Injustice to have a Gods Among Us edition cus you can practically taste the microtransactions coming at full blast if the DLC packs didn't give that away immediately. Several games fall victim to this practice where DLC is announced and demanding money even before the base game is released WAY ahead of time and it's the norm, sadly. I don't think the product itself will be bad, but I don't want to wait an entire year before an entire bundle of everything to that point is released with more benefits in that exclusive package. It's not really fun to play the waiting game but with life put in the equation it doesn't seem so long. :T
But other than that, my drive for games are fading and I was afraid of this. I can't really think of titles to look forward to since the interest is waning and the production is on such a grand scale now. But in the meantime I've been analyzing older titles or going back to them to realize their value.
ART! I've been steadily making minor changes to how I go through the process and things. I really wanna make more dynamic poses and make better rendering (jfc thats hard to break out of old habits @.=.@) although less is more sometimes. I took that principle and tried to not overthink a few things and they ended up being just fine! I guess I'm still searching for my 'style' once the fundamentals are decent enough, which leads tooo
FEEDBACK I'm gonna look into poll creations and see what people think makes the identity of my work. Or if you want, you can say so here! I still want to make questionnaires to see what people think.
COMMISSION polls to see what clients would say about my work, what they like, what needs improvement, etc. I feel like that's a very important part of the work and both parties need to be happy! Also, be aware that I'm changing the prices to my work soon. Not now, but in the future. I will still have inbetweens like the busts, icons, and things of the sort and I will do another YCH.
Uh, Idk what else to cover. But yeah, that's why I am busy and on/off all over the place. My mental stress is somewhat lowered (for now) but I feel so relieved. Some say "YEAH WELL YOULL WISH YOU WERE BACK IN COLLEGE" but I just wish for a good place to live with a good job with my friends. But whateverrr

Edit- I have noticed the amount of watches and faves over time, I thank yall for that! It makes me happy seeing all the people and support. And I will have my commissions open sometime next week when everything is situated. There will be a journal!

HOLIDAY WORK :D Possibly. I'll hold commissions if I'm in the clear by next week, I'll let y'all know. And I'll post my stuff and shit that I won't raise out of the blue I promise.
I'll show what I've been working on in terms of ref sheets, new ocs, and a surprise for big ol' Spikes~
But yeah, still alive, barely. Shit happened, projects were done, and life worked its magic. It's been an okay ~goddamn expensive~ semester. One more and I'll be out in the real world. *wiggly fingers* Hope everyone's hanging in there for their own semesters, we can do it!

Words can not express how disappointed I am with people. With all sides. Common sense was thrown out the window. But, whatever. It's reality.
Get ready for those four years since y'all asked for him so much. Hope all the controversy, memes, and jokes about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was worth the trouble.
Consider this: You've put millions of lives in jeopardy and embarrassment over someone that had some sort of grasp on the political body and issues at hand ( andactually answered questions with plans and whatnot). Someone with experience, someone who's actually a politician. But, no. You think she's too much of an untrustworthy individual.
Have you looked at politics recently? Or at all? You think the things people are leaking about her are groundbreakingly bad? HAVE YOU LOOKED AT ANY OTHER CANDIDATES THAT DID FAR WORSE THAN EMAIL SCANDALS? Edit, I know she ain't no angel, and we dont have much to work with but, come on.

Life's been busy, senior work and life stuff took up my time but I'm hanging in there. I'm trying new things out all over the place, so while I'm at it, I'm thinking of doing themed YCH commissions of all sorts too. Instead of waiting to have holidays open that window, why not do that myself with my own ideas, y'know? Maybe they could be sets, or just general ideas individually, I'll think about that and do some research. The base of these would be flat colored and go up to the shaded option you see in my gallery if that helps o: Would that seem cool? What are things y'all would be interested in to so i can have an idea?
Also, im pretty hyped for thanksgiving break and the holidays to catch a breath and do some work. Online classes are not fun at all x.=.x I'm gonna aim for a YCH or two during those as well so be on the look out for those!

A Question For Artists

This can even extend outside of art but it's something I have wondered for the longest time. Towards art, design, sculpting, music, anything, really. To beginners, to seasoned people, and in between.
But here it is. Are you ready? Is your belt buckle on?
Ok. Here it is.
How do you know when you are finished with something?
When you stop making something (be it personal work, freelance, school project) you spent hours, days, weeks maybe, and take a step back, do you go, "Well. That's all I can do," or something like "Wow, that looks fine!"
How do you know when to settle or take that extra step in a piece? Do you call it quits when you put everything you were taught into the image and there's nothing else you can do to make it better? Do you lose the energy you once had when you first started on it and move onto something else? What makes you move on and let that oh so wonderful creation of yours go off into the wind?
Personally, I feel like I am finished with a piece if it gives the same exact sort of feel I imagined it to have. It plays into something like an auteur where your "creative vision" has been successfully executed in some sort of physical form. If I see a character in my head doing something, I try my best to replicate it as close as possible to it. If it doesn't work, I curse loudly and scrap it or make something similar if I don't feel like letting it go. Or if it's feeling stale, I want to try something different so I can learn from it. And I do feel like my stuff is reaching that stagnant point and Im gonna try fixing that through feedback, different approaches, and actually going through some books. Could be me overthinking the subject and always trying to have some stellar junk.
I do know, however, that as someone who creates things, you have to be okay with letting ideas go and some ideas that may seem the best to you may not seem like that to others. And it can be the other way around! The ideas that can seem like ideal trash to you may seem really interesting to others (which I have encountered numerous times @_@)!
But, eh, it's something I was curious about from other people. What do you think?
On the side note, I might stream later tonight. And maybe make a twist to my last bit of possible commissions for the summer before school kicks in. Hint hint, cameos. Fanboying. Dicks. That's right. Dicks.

Posted 9 years agoWhat a good semester that was. Working while doing projects AND class work? I could've sworn I said I would never do such a thing about three years ago. I also said I wouldnt do two jobs back to back but that magically happened over the summer as well.
So I have a theory since everything is going back on my word...What if I say I'm not gonna win the lottery? I bet it works that way. Let's make it, eh, I'm good with $1 million on the dot. Nothing more or less.
Anywho, yes, my life's been busy. I've been learning a lot and going through a myriad of situations both in and out of school that's old and new for me. All in all, I'm going out into what people are now calling "The Real World," which means using time and money to pay things you don't want to pay and dealing with people that aren't so nice. People act like you're naïve to this revelation yet they don't realize some young people encounter this back in their earlier years, probably since high school. Life is still dry, nothing new for me to get excited about.
I will try posting some more on here and other places and have some defined schedule of my streams and commissions if I get the chance, it's been sporadic due to outside situations.
Not much about the news to talk about, I haven't been talkative as of late due to my lack of interest. My gaming rants kinda fell out and I noticed I used to post a lot of that. I'll try doing that some more cus that was fun talking about.
Thaaaaaat's all I got for y'all. And woooow a lotta people found me while I was in and out of here! Sorry for those unfortunate to lose me over the outage, I'm sure that was a stinker.

Posted 9 years agoI'm glad it's finally warming up. Life's been making me do things I don't wanna do but I can't complain, I guess. Projects are issued left and right, a sudden job position took up my free schedule (despite me literally stating it was an application for the summer but ok), future life goals are being asked when I have no clue about what I'd wanna do or where I wanna go, and I'm drawing near my last two semesters. You can drop this metaphorical anvil of stress on me whenever you feel ready!
So in case y'all aren't getting responses back or my art activity on here is very slow or my closed commissions... it's because of that. Hopefully it will lessen up later on near the summer break but I'm partially inspired to look for other things to do in terms of my major. A part of me wants to go out and experience things while another just wants to sit around and linger. There's also what feels like I have no idea what I'm getting into because of the limited feedback from others in my area, like, I don't feel that solid on my ideas unless its in a certain area I'm fond of. Outside of grades and the edumacational pat on the back, I feel like a novice still if I compare my shit to the real world of designers and try to apply for positions. It's hard to explain but I guess for a very loose explanation of the problem, it's procrastination masked under me saying "i can apply but idk what the fuck im capable of doing lol."
On a brighter note, I am so hyped for DOOM and Dark Souls 3 along with many other entries with little information given. The only thing I would want is this break to go slower since school begins again in..a week @.=.@ I don't wanna go back. This break was too fast.

As for now I'd like to enjoy the last few days of my break along with my upcoming birthday before school starts and finish my own projects. I will also try to update the commission page with more info (no change on prices, just added options).

Posted 9 years agoI hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. Not much happened for me, surprisingly. This break is going by much faster than I thought though it's been over a week and a few days. 20 more days until school starts again. One class is gonna be digital painting so uh, that'll be nothing new for me. I will try my own independent projects and do more.
Other than that, almost everyone around me has been getting sick, but I haven't caught anything since the beginning of this semester? It's weird. Pollen season is on its way though @.=.@
I haven't seen any movies lately or done much entertainment wise. I feel like there's nothing that catches my interest right now and I don't wanna do much or say much. That's probably my alternative to being "sick" right now: my lack of interest or socializing. I feel like I'm just floating in limbo right now and I hope that changes.
I also wanna get back to my personal stuff and not clutter my main gallery with nothing but commissions. I'm sure it was a bother to see nothing but commission journals lately with no life stuff in between lol. But other than certain events and stuff, I'm okay. But for now I'm free for that so I'll do whatever I can now. I might do something different with these in terms of linework since i keep leaning back in forth between how i practice the final sketch u:

Opinions about..opinions
Posted 10 years agoThere's something that I've been introduced to since college several years ago along with social networking and it's interesting to me that some people have such a weird mentality.
Say, there's a new trendy movie. Everyone likes it. It got everything. Guns. Violence. Boobies. More boobies. Intense shaky camera sequences. And Zombies. (can't forget those)
A friend rags on about this movie and is just, anticipating your views.
And you go: "I don't like it."
Your friend's head explodes with the fury of Pandora's box, spewing all over your brand new table. And then you got to beat what's left of their ass for fucking up your brand new renovated living room.
Imagine that backlash of having an opposing opinion, in just about, everything. Society condemns you for not liking the latest thing, which isn't new to me. However, I am kinda peeved that people would want you to at least respect it for what it is, and accept it in your life.
For instance, I don't like a lot of popular things people blow out of proportion which may turn people off ( i don't blame them). For instance, I don't like the Avengers as much as everyone else in my area. It's an average superhero movie with everyone's favorite put in one cameoing movie. Big whoop. That's how I see it. Others see it differently, okay. But despite what's argued and thrown at my face, at the end of the day, some people won't care.
Some people still won't like your favorite movie, your traditional religion. Your favorite game, or your favorite location. Some people still won't like your sexual identity, orientations, political views, whatever- and that is absolutely fine. However, it is not fine to step on each other's toes and tell people what to do with their life or what they should and should not like. So I guess thats when the magical power of ignoring people can come into play.
But the things people try to say to convert you into tolerating things is just, ridiculous. Not saying that one should automatically look down society, but it's just heinous to go "how dare you for not liking [x], so I'll forcefeed it down your throat!"
How do y'all feel about things like dis? Do opposing opinions make someone an outsider or someone with a strict amount of taste? Do you have a dry friend in the group that just doesn't like anything? Not even dicks? Are you that person? This isn't supposed to be serious, but I think about things |P

They'll be open until I take them down for the summer which will be for a while, so note me if you're interested. Don't mind the slots on the front page, I'll update them to show a queue of the current people for a reminder, personally for myself.
I'm not sure if I'll have em up during school but that's to find out in the future.

The prices have not changed, I just added a few more examples and revised my wording a bit, but I hope to keep adding on to it x:
I'm thinking that I'll hold 2 slots open for now and have a queue for those that want a spot afterwards so I won't have to keep making these journals everytime. Dish them out in pairs. I just wish I had fun theme ideas like I mentioned before. Like, pinups up to the waist or something. So like, comment on here and I'll start arranging things.

Streaming would be great, too, but being the smart person I am I chose the super pricey laptop that loses its cool to just about 5 minutes of any streamed content and fans start whirling about, ie YOUTUBE. (SIGH) Is that normal? I take it that it's not and believe it's overheating with multiple programs using the pc usage at once and I'd like to avoid any internal problems which is pretty stupid for a WhackBook to lose its shit all because I'm streaming bara butts. But to those that have similar experiences, do y'all just keep doing what you're doing or just try to minimize all the possible causes of the fans turning on and keep streaming? I'm also seeing people use Picarto more than Livestream.

Posted 10 years agoSo my combinations of allergies and the viral infection finally worn off, but a small bit lingers. But I'm doing a lot better than the weeks before. That was not a fun time.
I'm sorta glad the vacation is here so I can relax, but for some reason I still feel tense. Not as much during the semester thank god, but it's like, something is lingering. Researching the history of stress and relieving stress is what I'd look into, and it's odd to still feel that during a time I'm on a break for a few more months.
I'm waiting for new games to hit the PS4 (patiently) and until then, I'm just dicking around. E3 might be interesting to watch live, but I rarely watch those things live like last year.
As for commissions, I might hold 2 slots next week. But I'm not sure what type I should do, maybe from sketches up to flat colors only. I feel like i can deliver a lot better results with more quality but to get that, I might have to hold off on the commissions and experiment with things myself. I also don't want to fill my gallery up with nothing but commissions and clutter them up with my personal stuff but it might not even matter @.=.@

I'd like to get out of the house once in a while, but there's not much to do in my area D: Though i am content in staying in the house and (SLEEPING) being productive. Posted 10 years agoSo the wonderful god of Breaks blessed me with a very high fever as soon as i finished my last test yesterday. I thought it was nothing this morning until I went up to look beautiful in the bathroom and almost threw up! So I guess I cannot get my groceries until this is through, not like i needed to add sick meds to my list of shit I need anyways.
So I was denying it until I picked up a thermometer and BOOM 102.6 GREAT JOB
I have one commission left to do, halfway done, but I just feel weak :/ I'll try to get through it if i feel better today. This is like, the best thing to get when I got finished with 15 weeks of hell. Like 2 years ago when i took Pink Eye with me when i came home for the first time. But at least I don't have to go out the house to fuck with allergies and sinuses. It's like, I'm dead cold from my feet and it gets hot up to my head.
For my departing note, whoever cures allergies for good, they deserve the best reward.
