Male Characters in ABS and Dora and Friends
General | Posted 2 weeks agoRegarding Angry Birds Stella (the animated series based on the spin-off game of the same name) and Dora and Friends Into the City, I noticed some fairly big similarities between the two. Both star a majorly female main cast with one token male character who is either an occasional dumbass or a naive child. Not to mention that the Angry Birds girls are pretty rough when it comes to fighting the male villains and minions, including handsome pig. And yet Gale, the one who LITERALLY CHOSE TO LEAVE HER FRIENDS FOR A LIFE AS QUEEN OF THE PIGS AND NEARLY DESTROYED THE ECOSYSTEM OF AN ENTIRE ISLAND TO FULLFILL UNEARED WEALTH gets spared from permanently becoming a gold statue even after almost getting Stella and her friends killed. It just seems like some sort of misandry that slips under people's radars. I'm pretty sure these shows would get way more hatred and accusations of sexism if the characters' genders were swapped. Just saying.

Sesame Street's Cringeworthy Feet Song
General | Posted 7 months agoRemember when Sesame Street had Ziggy Marley sing an entire song about taking off your shoes and socks just to explore nature? Yeah...yikes. I'm not above feet-related content in mainstream media, but goddamn, there doesn't need to be an entire song about going barefoot in the grass. Even the song's title "Set Your Piggies Free" makes me shudder with cringe to no end.

Clip Art Deserves More Love
General | Posted a year agoI might be in the minority when I say this, but I personally think any art that's created to be public domain deserves to be more loved and appreciated for the work that goes into them. I know people tend not to think much of clip art due to the fact that their position in the public domain makes it easy to take them for granted, but the artists and companies that make them do put in the talent and effort to make artistically good images. In fact, here are some great websites to get clip art from:

Small Vent About My Job
General | Posted a year agoI've never told anyone this, but I have job where I work as a dish washer at the LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Basically, I just wash metal food tubs, silverware, etc. just to make things cleaner for patients. It's MOSTLY an easy job, but what infuriates me about it is that they expect one person at a time to clean all those dishes, especially when there's a shit ton of them laying around the sink in the dish room. The worst part about it is that they (also I) don't even get any help with the dishes and are always left to do them alone while everyone else does their thing. To be honest, I find it to be the dumbest and frustrating part of the system. Everyone working in the kitchen could clearly benefit if more people worked in the dish room, that way things would be a lot faster.

Over the Garden Wall: Beatrice and Animal TFs
General | Posted 2 years agoAs Over the Garden Wall fans know, the tritagonist Beatrice (voiced by Melanie Lynskey of ππΈπ° π’π―π₯ π’ ππ’ππ§ ππ¦π― and ππ©π¦ ππ¦π³π¬π΄ π°π§ ππ¦πͺπ―π¨ π’ ππ’πππ§ππ°πΈπ¦π³ fame) was transformed into a bluebird along with her family via a curse after she threw a rock at an innocent self-explanatory for whatever reason (probably out of being a bitch, I suppose). However, if Beatrice purposefully harming a bluebird curses her to become one, would the same logic apply to any other animal living in the Unknown? For example:
If Beatrice were to stomp a frog to death, would she become a frog?
If Beatrice were to swat a spider with her hand, would she become a spider?
If Beatrice were to knock down a beehive with a stick, would she become a bee?
If Beatrice were to kill a mouse with a mouse trap, would she become a mouse?
If Beatrice were to kill a member of any other bird species, would she become said bird species?
My point is, it seems like any human resident in the Unknown can become an animal through a curse if they were to commit a violent act towards the exact member of the species they harm, whether fatal or not. That's just my overall thoughts on this little bit of lore the show never bothers going that deep into. Leave your thoughts about this in the comments below.

Over the Garden Wall Dream Theory
General | Posted 2 years agoThis is a little theory I came up with regarding Patrick McHale's highly acclaimed animated mini-series Over the Garden Wall. What if Wirt and Greg's journey through the Unknown in an attempt to get back home was all just in their heads? Think about it. In the episode "Into the Unknown/My Reverie", it's revealed that Wirt and Greg "came" to the Unknown simply by falling into a lake in their home town and becoming unconscious in the process. Right in the next and final episode, "The Unknown", Wirt and Greg "return" home after Wirt is the first to awaken from his unconsciousness and gets himself and Greg out of said lake, as the two of them eventually get transported to the hospital. This very much implies that the Unknown doesn't actually exist, and that Wirt and Greg's big adventure was just something they dreamed up while they were pretty close to drowning in the lake. This also means that there was really no Woodsman, no Beatrice, no Beast, and especially none of the other fantastical creatures and beings the two brothers meet along the way. The entirety of the Unknown and its residents was all in their unconscious imaginations. Bummer, huh? Yeah...sorry to ruin it for those who genuinely love the show, but this is just something about it I've been speculating for a while.
Feel free to debunk my theory in the comments below. I'm open to constructive criticism.

I know it sounds lazy, but as proven time and time again, these sorts of things do get plenty of faves and help inspire ideas for art over there. Just try not to be too disappointed about it.

Lack of Physical Medical Condition Representation In Fict...
General | Posted 2 years ago(Full title of journal is "Lack of Physical Medical Condition Representation In Fictional Media")
Here's something that's been on my mind for a while: not much representation of people with physical medical conditions in fictional media that isn't vitiligo or simply being wheelchair-bound (no offense to people with such conditions). It kind of bothers me that there is HARDLY any representation (or good ones at that) of people with physical medical conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), polydactyly (Ford Pines from Gravity Falls being the only one I can think of), or people born with missing limbs. I would also like to point out that there are cases of characters being oh-so subtly implied to have dwarfism or gigantism (Yosemite Sam from Looney Tunes comes to my mind on the former), and yet those cases are often either brushed off as just being a character design, or played up for the sake of comedy.
Speaking of which, the only character I can think of that gives people with dwarfism justice is Dr. David Nelson from the South Park season 11 episode "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson", even if he is a one-time character. In fact, the one episode of the show where people with physical medical conditions (albeit both real and fictional) time to shine is the season 6 episode "Freak Strike", where the True Freak Union (yes, that's what the organization is called) strikes against both fake freaks and irregular talk show interviews. Also, there's a pretty funny bit at the end of the episode where the freaks chase after Cartman with a pot of boiling water after he rips off Butters's fake chin testicles.
Still...that doesn't change the fact that there needs to be more representation, and good representation at that, of people with other types of physical medical conditions that don't at least only exist for laughs, or anything like that.

TAWOG Characters Who Can Beat Superman
General | Posted 2 years agoI've been thinking about the quirky citizens of Elmore from The Amazing World of Gumball, specifically the ones with legitimate superpowers. So, I thought to myself this: What if there are Elmore residents that are capable of going toe-to-toe with Superman of all characters in a fight and actually knock him down a peg? Well...here are some of my likely Elmore candidates:
Penny Fitzgerald and Clayton- Two of the greatest shapeshifters in all of Elmore. Penny can transform in to monsters of any size with her antlers, while Clayton can transform into perfect copies of any individual or object he sees. If any of the two were to face Superman in a fight, then they would be perfectly capable of shapeshifting into powerful beings strong enough to pound the Kryptonian into the pavement.
Ocho Tootmorsel- One might think a small guy like Ocho is practically incapable of taking down an alien powerhouse like Superman, but looks can be decieving. In the episode "The Phone", it's revealed that he has the power to shoot lasers that break down things into cubes (considering he resembles a video game character from the 80s). There is definitely no way Superman would recover from something like that. One contact with one of Ocho's lasers, and he's a dead pile of cubes.
Bobert 6B- This one makes sense, considering the numerous times Superman has had to deal with robots, whether they be the products of Lex Luthor or Toyman, or if dealing with the robot menace Metallo. Bobert has proven throughout the show that he's definitely no mechanical pushover, as he's perfectly capable of being a legitimate threat to those around him, both in his normal and giant robot form. To beat Superman in a fight, he would either have to be taken by LexCorp to be upgraded with weapons capable of taking down a Kryptonian, or if he just found a chunk of Kryptonite one day and decided to use it as a power core.
The JΓΆtunheims- The combination of magic and brute strength would definitely pose a threat to the Man of Steel, given how it's been proven time and time again how he has weaknesses in both worlds. Hector could literally beat Superman senseless with his excessive amounts of giant strength, and Mrs. JΓΆtunheim could just keep casting spells at the Kryptonian until he's down for the count.
The Yoshidas- The Yoshidas are practically Japanese weather demigods, especially Nasami, so they could just keep zapping Superman with lightning right out of the sky. The reason I say this because depending on the writer, there have been moments where Superman is weak to all forms of electricity, especially when dealing with the electric-powered villain Livewire.
The Internet- Hear me out on this one. In the Internet's debut episode "The Internet", his control of other pieces of technology through his computer causes some serious property damage while trying to get rid of Gumball and Darwin. I'm sure if the Internet were to rig a couple of electric lines, he could zap Superman with thousands of volts of electricity, rendering him unconscious.
Carrie Krueger- She may be a ghost, but she's also technically a magical being like Mrs. JΓΆtunheim. Besides the fact that all of Superman's attacks would just phase right through her, she could also use the supernatural powers of the undead to drag him down to what's basically TAWOG's version of hell, and essentially trap him there for all of eternity.
Rob- This guy is pretty much a reality-warping powerhouse, except as a much more threatening version of Mr. Mxyzptlk. This is due to the magical remote he bought from the Awesome Store, which he can use to screw with Superman anytime he wanted to. Hell, he could legitimately stop the Man of Steel from attacking him and send him to the Void in no time flat.
The Wattersons- What can I say about the starring family of weirdos? They are legitimately the most powerful set of characters to exist in the show, so much so to the point of being actual threats to all of Elmore, if not the entire world. They have proven to have a multitude of superpowers such as shapeshifting, superhuman strength, superhuman speed, superhuman agility, reality warping, and so much more. This family would be a mega-level threat to Superman if they were to take him down as a family, or even possibly kill him. Superman would definitely avoid them at all costs.

The Most Attractive Hero:108 Animal Leaders (In My Opini....
General | Posted 2 years agoNOTE: This is not a top ten list, since I can't rank things for shit. This is just me sharing my opinions revolving around a show that I feel doesn't get enough love and attention.
Deer King- The ruler and tallest of the deer, and the only one with reddish-orange fur and the ability to walk on two legs. I put him on here because of his tall stature and handsome anthro deer appearance, not to mention that I find it adorable when he gets happy over stacking houses of cards.
Sheep Queen- A bipedal hoofed creature with a knack for knitting wool sweaters out of her own self-explanatory. I put her on here because of firstly, her cute anthro sheep appearance, what with a combination of her white wool, pink skin, and horns on her head. Also, because of her voice and cute sheep noises provided by Kelly Sheridan, who also voiced Mystique Sonia and Rosefinch of the Big Green air force in the same show.
Peacock Queen- The queen of one of the most beautiful birds on the planet, even if she has all the traits of the male members of her species. I put her on here because of both her beautiful appearance and snobby attitude, which is provided with the talented voice work of Tabitha St. Germain, who also voiced Alpha Girl Latifah of Second Squad and Rattle Diva in the same show.
Giraffe King- The former co-ruler of the panda and giraffes turned musician for Rattle Diva's Do-Re-Mi Band. I put him on here because I love his cute giraffe design, even if he is just a brown-colored copycat model of the other giraffes, and because of his excitement and love for music alongside Panda King.
Seagull King & Seagull Prince- The ruling father-and-son duo of the seagulls, with one having to prove his worth to his father and the other finally being proud of his son and approving of him in battle. I put these two on the list because they're both cute anthro seagull bois, and that they have the broadest body structures of any bird species in Hidden Kingdom (seriously, look at those wings and shoulders).
Egret Queen- The queen of the egrets with a knack for cooking rice, a dish most commonly whipped up by her species alongside the oxen. I put her on here because the thought of a physically attractive tomato-red female hyperintelligent egret sort of arouses me. Don't judge me.
What do you think of these choices? Give your thoughts in the comments below.
