Toys R Us closing down.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo for those who don't know, Toys R Us is closing down.
I personally will miss them as I was able to get MANY toys there that other stores simply did not have. They had a larger MLP section, a larger Lego section, a bigger selection of random video game action figures and over all a bigger selection of stuff.
Some people may say "but you can find all this stuff online." A random video I have watched on YouTube about Toys R Us closing down said how I feel about it "the thing with going into a store is the thrill of the hunt and finding that thing you have been looking for for a while." This is very true. It also works in a different way where you don't know what you want until you find it. I was in Toys R Us one day and spotted this: https://goo.gl/images/i9A58j A Lego Sydney Opera House. =O Now yes, Toys R Us DID have a higher cost on it and I did order it on Amazon, but I still wouldn't have known that kit existed and if it weren't for Toys R Us I wouldn't have known about it.
There was also a time we got a Toys R Us ad in the newspaper we get, in it I saw a large Lunala figure from Pokemon. =O The fun fact about this one was that Toys R Us was actually cheaper than Amazon, so I ended up ordering it on their website. So once again, if it weren't for Toys R Us I may not have had known that figure even existed.
Of course there are MANY reasons why Toys R Us is closing down, there is the business side of it and you can look up more info on that if you want. Then often times people are quick to blame online retailers, but let's face it, it's kids and what they play with now a days, why play with toys when everything is on their tablet that they are allowed to have even at a very young age. Why play with Lego bricks when they have a building block game/app where they don't have to read instructions. Man, how long before a generation cannot DO a thing unless it's on a computer screen of some type? =U
Seeing how dependent kids, and people in general, reminds me of an episode of the cartoon Camp Lazlo. One of the main characters starts to receive labor saving devices from his parents, well he starts getting and using so many that his arms and legs start to shrivel up, and before long he reverts back into a baby.
But anyway, this journal isn't about "in my day things were better" so I won't say a ton more on that. =P I just find it a shame that Toys R Us is closing down. I may not have found something every time I went into there, but I sure found things that I would not have found anywhere else or even thought about looking for online. So Toys R Us, I will miss you. Hopefully your closing won't effect all of the toy making businesses out there since you did do a lot for them. At least this will be a nice stab at Disney so they will no longer be able to cram all their Star Wars crap down Toys R Us' throat. >w>
Anyway, how do you feel about Toys R Us closing down?

Random Twitch Gripes.
General | Posted 8 years agoFirst world problems. =P
But hey, we all complain about what we watch for entertainment, we do it for comic books, TV shows, movies, video game and everything in between.
Since I have started watching Twitch live streamers I have run into ALL sort of issues with the "quality" of some streamers and I just feel like talking about some of them. None of this is end of the world serious stuff, I just feel like talking about it, so take all this with a grain of salt.
1: Conflicting time frames. So recently I found a streamer that I REALLY like. I like his commentary and I have liked a fair amount of the game he has played. He streams between 5-9PM Sunday-Friday, so he takes Saturday off. I have to go to work between 5-8PM. =I So I get to enjoy one hour of this guy's stream... Yay... =U
2: Playing the same game over, and over, and over, and over... So I really like some games and as such I enjoy watching them, but some streamers play the same gave over and over. =U I like Zelda: A Link to the Past, but watching a streamer play a aLttP randomizer multiple times in a row is so boring. One might argue "but the random nature of those runs makes them fun" maybe a few times but after the 5th time it's time to move on. =U
Then there are times a streamer will play the same non modified game over and over. Someone I watched for a while plays Zelda: Ocarina of Time minimal damage runs and she does this every few days. Watching the same streamer play the exact same game over and over is not fun. =U And yes, this includes speedrunners. I enjoy speedruns, but not the process that led to that magical PB (personal best) run.
3: Radio personality streamers. What I mean by this are those streamers that have this personality about them that makes them seem like they are putting on a radio personality that doesn't seem like how they would be in real life. Now I understand some people like putting on a show for their audience and that is perfectly fair, but I am not fond of watching that. I just want to watch a normal person play a game, not a radio personality.
4: Let me stop the stream to say or do something. People have lives outside of streaming and them having to stop to do something is perfectly okay. What I am talking about are the people who grind the stream to a halt to announce their give aways, talk about contests, do their bingo things, bring up schedules or tell a long story that some may not care about. If you wanna talk about this stuff do so while you are playing the game, and if you can't talk while playing wait until you are going to be ending the stream or something. =U
5: Technical issues. Man there is a lot to talk about here, like mic breathers. *HUFF HUFF HUFF* Now I get not everyone will have high priced mics with noise canceling and all that, but I am sure even cheap mics can be held away from your mouth to prevent this. =U
Audio desync and terrible audio balance. Now these two are a problem only at base level. The reason for that is based on a simple fact, if no one is in the chat then the streamer may not know there are audio problems. Not everyone has two computers or devices to check their stream on to see that they are having audio problems, so I can forgive this to a degree. It's still annoying though.
Inte...rnet... not go...od eno...ugh... for st...reaming... It's so nice when it's not my end causing the issues, I don't have the best internet, but I know it's good enough to watch even some "HD" image quality streams without buffering. But man I have watched some streams with buffering, artifacting which is so odd and various other connection problems. =P
6: Let me block parts of the screen with all of my border images AND my facecam. I don't have much issue with JUST a facecam in the corner of the screen. Facecam isn't required, but when the streamer does have it putting it in a corner isn't too bad. Some people however have parts of their border encroaching in on the game screen. I mean come on, if you want to have a border that is okay, but don't have said border covering up bits of the game screen. =U
7: This streamer is "GREAT" at the games they play. Not everyone is skilled at video games, if I wanted skill I would watch speedrunners but I don't want to watch speedrunners for various reasons. There are some people however who just can't seem to play video games well. =U I have legit watched someone game over in Kirby Super Star for the SNES....... HOW?! XO Kirby games are often times mocked for being easy baby games, but you are so "skilled" that you not only died multiple times but you got a game over?! Wow... Some streamers are like watching that one game journalist playing the Cuphead tutorial, or the one Polygon person playing Doom 2016, some people just aren't gamers and are painful to watch.
For me I don't want DarkSidePhil nor do I want speedrunners, I want the middleground. Someone who is decent at video games, is that so much to ask? =P
Anyway, that was it, just felt like talking about some things that annoyed me with Twitch streamers. Nothing important so as I said, take it with a grain of salt.

I am in the mood for some astronomical hyper art.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo it's been a while since I drew any astronomical hyper art:
http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/.....onomical-Hyper
and as such I am kind of in the mood for it.
So I post this journal as a means to get some ideas.
I MIGHT be willing to do some requests or trades so if you are interested tell me your idea here.
If you want a trade maybe send a note so we can discuss better there. But if you have a request just post here in the journal please.
I am not into MLP ponies so I will not draw them, sorry.
I am also not into canines, so no dogs, wolves or foxes please.
I DO love rule 34, so interesting rule 34 ideas are nice.
If you want your character or a specific character paired with one of my OC's that'd be cool too:
http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/.....and-characters
If I ignore your comment I am sorry, still a little lazy with responding to comments lately. >_>

Yeah, chronic laziness! =D
General | Posted 8 years agoLike holy crap. I have notes on FA that are just sitting in the notebox unopened an unread, some a few weeks old.
I can start drawing but I don't get very far, that might be art block though.
All I wanna do is watch streams on Twitch. =U
Screw this laziness and the damn art block. I have a list of things I wanna draw, but when I start drawing them I sure as Hell don't feel like drawing them.
I mean since I do of course still go to work thus do my job and there's no negative results from this laziness, ultimately it's not THAT bad, but it's worth mentioning.
And yeah, for the few people that have pending notes with me sorry, I just get to a point where I don't wanna respond and just kind of leave the note hanging. But at least I don't open the note and then ignore it, so that's something. =U
Anyway, not much reason for this journal, just getting it out there.

Twitch video game streamers?
General | Posted 8 years agoSo recently I made a Twitch account for the soul purpose of watching and interacting in the chat while watching game streams. I have come to enjoy when I can comment in the chat and get a response from the streamer, and if I can make them laugh that's even better. =3
So I post this journal to ask if there are any streamers you would recommend?
Now I do know of channels like Vinesauce, so I know of Vinny and Joel. But I think what I am looking for are less popular channels. It's not a case of hating popular because it's popular, it's more a case of what I spoke of above, interacting with the streamer in the chat. When a streamer has less than 20 people watching it makes the chat a much more simple place to get a word in edgewise.
I am not really fond of games like Overwatch, PUBG, Destiny 2,those military FPS games like CoD, sports games and stuff like that, so I have no interest in watching streams of those games.
I DO like classic games, as Mario, Zelda, Megaman, Kirby and series like that, so games like that are more favorable.
As for the streamer themselves, so long as they are not really vulgar I am okay with however they talk. I may still not like swearing as a personal preference, but I can deal with it.
Facecam is completely optional.
So if there are any streamers you watch that you enjoy let me know, so long as they fit the criteria mentioned above. =3

The best part of waking up, is a dead monitor...
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, this morning I woke up and turned on my computer like usual. I then turned on my monitor, it made the sound of a CRT monitor turning on, the LED lit up and then then the LED turned off along with the sound of the monitor turning off.
Granted the monitor was at least 5 years old so it was bound to die eventually, and it has been acting up. But waking up to it being freezing cold and unable to turn on your monitor that is key to actually being able to interact on your computer is lame.
Luckily for me my father has had a flat screen monitor just sitting around that is not in use, so I was able to hook that one up. So yes, crisis averted. But man is it gonna take a while to get use to flat screen visuals along with wide screen. I have been used to a 4:3 aspect ratio for as long as I have been using a computer.
Anyway, nothing major, just felt like venting this.

The Unikitty cartoon.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo during Halloween Cartoon Network aired the first episode of the "Unikitty" cartoon. Since then there have been ten episodes that have aired on TV.
At first I was indifferent about the show, the first three episodes didn't really impress me, but maybe the art style was distracting me. The episodes were certainly not bad however and were certainly passable.
However as more episodes have been airing I can safely say this is actually a pretty decent show. It's not the greatest thing to come to Cartoon Network, but compared to some other shows on the channel this one is pretty good. The show is very episodic, but that does work in its favor as they can have a funny punchline to an episode and everything will be fine in the next episode. Many shows do this after all. =P
As said above I am not a fan of the art style, it's got that visual style similar to Teen Titan's Go, but try not to let that deter you too much.
If I were to recommend an episode I would suggest "Kaiju Kitty" one joke punchline in this episode had me laughing pretty hard. =P
So if you have had reservations about this show at least give it a try. There is some decent entertainment to be had here. =3

Swearing in casual conversation.
General | Posted 8 years agoFirst and foremost I am not being holier than than thou here, when I get angry at something (usually something trivial like a video game) I have used the "S" and "F" words. We as people get angry, and letting it out IS helpful psychologically. I however don't shout these words at the top of my lungs. When my parents are home I would do it quietly and if they are not I don't do it crazy loud either.
I am mainly talking about are the people who just drop the these swear words in casual conversation. Despite what Patrick on Spongebob says these words are not sentence enhancers. =P
I know that there are people who use the "F" word like it's a casual adjective for EVERYTHING. Why is this okay? Now some might be inclined to say "well if the word is said all the time then doesn't that make it less bad?" Try using the "N" word in causal conversation and see how that goes. Now there is a HUGE difference between the two words, one is a very derogatory term that was used in a hurtful way for years and the other is just a swear word. Just because the "F" isn't a derogatory term doesn't mean that it should be treated like a word that can just be tossed about.
Really it's not even a case of "what if there were children around" thing, it's more a case that some people just don't want to hear that crap. It makes the swearing person seem like a child who doesn't know what else to say so they simply put these swears wherever they want. It just seems so wrong when you are out and about and you hear someone use the "F" or "S" word when they are on their cell phone. But I guess if you use the words all the time indiscriminately you are incapable of censoring yourself when you really should.
Maybe I am old fashioned and modern society is treating these words less seriously. That seems to be how the modern generation is though. >_>

Super Mario Odyssey, your outfit of choice.
General | Posted 8 years agoWhen a game character has stared in MANY games and has worn the same outfit for most of those games it is always nice to be given the option to change said outfit. I liked Link's starting outfit in Wind Waker~
Anyway, of course Super Mario Odyssey gives a LOT of costume diversity with loads of references to various costumes Mario has worn through the years.
So what outfit did you wear most through the game?
For me though I decided to wear the pirate outfit. I don't like pirates, but I like the clothes they wear. So for most of the game I chose to wear the pirate outfit as I liked how it looked. =3

The worst Star Wars merchandise?
General | Posted 8 years agoSo ever since Disney bought Star Wars there hasn't been just a flood but rather a monsoon of Star Wars merchandise that has come to various outlets. It pains me to go into a Winn Dixie grocery store and seeing Star Wars merchandise... George Lucas never seemed THIS bad...
But beyond that here is the question, what is the WORST bit of Star Wars merchandise you have ever seen?
There's a few I have seen.
1: Various lines of Star Wars make up.
I think many make up brands have done this, just look it up as I can't find one singular glaring one, they are all pretty bad.
2: These next two come curtousy of WorldClassBullshitters on YouTube.
Star Wars money: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oal-P8Ys1tE <_< Wow, just wow. You are basically buying a high quality print, nothing more. It'd be different if this was like "credits" (the currency from the movies) but it's just paper money with pictures on them, bleh....
3 Massive R2-D2 PLASTIC figure.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuKiiWjsM3o
The thing looks like a piece of garbage that you are paying $3,000 for, holy crap!
4: Now for what I consider to be possibly the worst I have ever seen. It may not be insanely expensive but it's one of the most pointless things to put Star Wars onto.
https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--bWohsZXV--/c_scale,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800/uizqvja5xs1x3w6j1afh.jpg
And on the official site to prove it exists:
https://www.quill.com/star-wars-cop.....cbi/108.cshtml
Copy paper boxes and ream wrappers with Star Wars on them... Like the money above you are buying a print, but WHY COPY PAPER! When I saw this in a office products catalog I couldn't believe my eyes.
Now there is likely worse than this, and I would love to hear what you have seen that beats these four. =3 Also have fun giving Disney 65% of your ticket sales at the theaters as opposed to the 55% that is usually asked for. Wonder why drinks and popcorn costs so much at theaters? Look no further than that.

Happy birthday to me.
General | Posted 8 years agoAnd so I have turned 31. Wait, that means I can drink!... No wait, that's 21...
Hooray for 10 years of pure sobriety! Yeah stupid joke, but hey, I am proud to say I wasn't one of those that wanted to start drinking the second I turned 21.
Now I mention 21 for a little reason, to me there isn't much difference between 21 and 31 for me personally. I still have the same job, I still play video games, I still live with my parents and that is all fine to me.
The one thing that has changed is that nearly 8 years ago I posted my first picture and over those 8 years I actually started making friends, something I didn't have before that point. So at 31 I actually have some friends, albeit online friends, but friends none the less, so I am better off now than I was at 21. =3
I got this from my parents:
https://i1.wp.com/recycledcrafts.cr.....?fit=600%2C641
They are rather fun books that are like paint by number, but with shaped stickers. I have two others and have wanted this one.
I also got a few pictures so far, and I know of at least one more coming, so I appreciate any other gifts. =3 But as always I never really expect much of anything on my birthday.
Anyway, so yeah it's my birthday. I know by posting this journal I am opening the floodgates to many people telling me "happy birthday" and I do appreciate that. Just don't expect me to respond to every one of those comments is all. ^^;

Snake Pass (Nintendo eShop download)
General | Posted 8 years ago I recently beat this game and had a blast with it. It's certainly not for everyone and I can see that, it's a bit more slow and methodical making it more of a puzzle platformer. I personally LOVED it and felt that my $20 was well spent on this game. =3 It's not the greatest game I have ever played, but for what the game sets out to do it does it well. You play as a snake named Noodle and he has no special abilities. You slither like a snake, you climb bamboo structures like a snake and that is the basics of the game. It's such an interesting and creative game which may be what I liked about it. There are other games you play as a snake, but this is likely one of the only ones that make you control as a snake.
Many reviews for Snake Pass mention "a steep learning curve" and "a difficulty spike," however if you play the game in a certain way both of these issues are mute. In every stage there are 20 whisps (basically glowing crystal ball looking things) and 5 golden coins, if you go out of your way to collect all of these things you are forced into trickier locations. So in turn the game is actually encouraging you to collect these things so you will come to grips with the controls. I felt that in just two stages I had already gotten used to controlling Noodle. So "steep learning curve?" Not in my opinion, if you want a steep learning curve try and play Kid Icarus Uprising for the 3DS, now THAT is a steep learning curve.
Also since I went out of my way to collect all of the golden coins, which are in more difficult areas, by the time the game required me to do these difficult challenges as part of the normal stage progression I was used to them. And as for the game's difficulty, well for me since I was collecting everything it wasn't until the final two stages that I would truly say the game ramped up in difficulty. Those final two stages really went all out in making sure you were used to how Noodle controls otherwise you would be having a difficult time.
Now the camera is not perfect, it does some odd things at times. Those times when you're dangling from a pole with nothing more than a bottomless pit under you it's not fun when you can't get the camera in a good position. But the camera was not awful, I have experienced worse cameras in better games, so I was able to deal with it.
The framerate did sometimes lag here and there, but no big deal.
There was also some pop in here and there, but it didn't effect the game in any way.
Anyway, if you like a game with a creative control scheme like slithering a snake around I definitely recommend this game. If you were to play this game I would recommend going after at least some of the golden coins as they are what help you get used to the game.

Doom 2016 (Switch version)
General | Posted 8 years agoSo recently I bought this game and played through and beat it.
So first and foremost I want to get something out of the way, we all know that the PC, X-Box1 and PS4 versions are superior to this version. BUT, I will be speaking of Doom (Switch) as its own stand alone entity, so I will not be saying "well it was better on this version." I will also not be judging it on "man it's impressive that this game runs on the Switch." The game has issues, but I will be getting to those soon.
With that said, I REALLY LOVED THIS GAME!!! My other Doom experience is with Doom 64 on the Nintendo 64, I consider it so good that it's in my top 10 favorite games of all time. When I saw game footage of Doom 2016 it looked like it had everything that I enjoyed about Doom 64, so once it got announced for the Switch I was VERY excited to play it even if it may have had issues.
This game felt just right: http://i.imgur.com/xYpW3tH.png Once I got the hang of controls and such they felt second nature. I started the game using the chainsaw a LOT and died a lot as well. (I was playing on "Hurt Me Plenty" difficulty) As I played further on into the game I felt like I was starting to get better as I rarely used the chainsaw and started dying much less. It's like the game was helping me get better. =P
The "Glory Kill" mechanic was a GREAT addition to the Doom formula that I welcomed as I played through the game.
I also liked that the game never felt like it was judging me for how I played. There is no ranking system, so even if you miss every secret and upgrade pickups in a stage the game doesn't judge you for it. I'm rarely fond of games that have ranking systems present through the whole game. >_>
The updated versions of all of the classic Doom enemies was quite nice to see, none of the enemies felt boring (aside from maybe one boss) and were fun to blast with all my weapons~
Overall this game was a great experience. But like with any game there are some flaws and bugs.
There are sound bugs, one common one is this sudden slightly loud buzz that lasts half a second. It happened, maybe 7 times during my whole playthrough, but it wasn't that bad really and seemed to stop a little over half way through the game.
There were also times that the SFX audio lowered or completely muted, this was easily fixed by reloading the last checkpoint. Yes it sucks but it's not a terrible thing to have happen on a game.
I did have one time I clipped through the geometry and fell to my death in an area I should not have been able to fall to my death. =P But I have experienced this in other games, like God of War on the PS2, I fell through the floor randomly once.
There is lag. I am not a framerate buff so I personally cannot tell the difference between 60 and 30 FPS. But I am not talking about that. There are some areas with lots of enemies where the game will lag and becomes somewhat slow. Yes experiencing lag is never fun, but this surely isn't the only game to feature it. At least when the game slows down it's a consistent slow and does not get to a point of being jittery. When it comes to lag it's not as bad as the Switch port of RiME: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgbehiNOZso
I would rather take consitent slow over jittery any day.
Now there was one bug I encountered that was somewhat bad BUT NOT GAME ENDING! At one point when paused I could not scroll through the various options with the control stick or directional buttons. So if I wanted to upgrade Doomguy or his weapons I could not. I could still control Doomguy in the game however. I did try simply closing the game from the Home menu, but that didn't fix it. I also tried turning off the Switch, that didn't fix it. The game was still playable in this state, but I wondered if there was a fix for this. Luckily other people had experienced this bug and someone found a fix. It does require reseting the Switch. It was a simple fix, a little annoying that I had to do this, but it only took a few seconds so it wasn't that bad.
I have played at least four games where I have experienced literal game ending bugs, so this particular bug was bad, but as I said I was still able to play the game even if the bug was not fixable.
All I will say is that if you go into the Switch version of this game do know that there are some flaws. I went in knowing there were issues, so I was prepared for them and was not discouraged when they happened. The last bug I mentioned was discouraging, but once fixed it never happened again, and that was halfway through the game.
But yeah, if you're only option to accessing Doom 2016 is the Switch then know that it's still a very enjoyable experience. It's not perfect, but it's better than not being able to play Doom 2016 at all. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth after all
I for one am VERY happy I was able to play this game and will certainly be playing it again in the future. This game was a blast that nearly matched my experience with Doom 64. =3 I cannot recommend this game enough if you only have access to the Switch. =3

Considering some Nintendo eShop games.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo recently I got a Nintendo Switch, and as such there are some games on the eShop that I am considering and I would like some input on them:
These first three I KNOW I want:
Snake Pass
Steamworld Dig 2
Mighty Gunvolt Burst
These ones I do want but not as much as the first three:
Slime-San
Pankapu
Puzzle Adventure Blockle
The Mummy Demastered
Blaster Master Zero
Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap
Phantom Trigger
Implosion
Oceanhorn
Of course if there are any others you have played that you would recommend go ahead and tell me them. =3

Paying more than list price for a game?
General | Posted 8 years agoHave you ever payed more than the list price for a video game?
I would say an exact number, but some games come out and they are $40 and some games come out and they are $60. (or whatever currency your country has, the US isn't the only place to get video games.) That and some countries, like Australia, have a large mark up on the price of games.
One thing to note is that if there are multiple versions of the game, like the whole silver or gold version, each of which cost more then the minimally priced version is what counts here. So if you buy the silver version at $80 then you payed more than the minimal list price for the game.
Now the first obvious way a person can spend more than the list price is by buying DLC's, micro-transactions or the oh so beloved loot boxes. Also things like Amiibos count if you specifically bought that Amiibo to use in that game. Amiibos in some way sort of count as a DLC after all.
I for one have never and will likely never buy into these, especially on a game that is already a full $60.
Another way to spend more than list price is buying the special pre-order version, like the Assassin's Creed Origins $800 collectors edition. =P
Nope, I've never bought into these either. Most of the do-dads put into these collectors editions just don't interest me.
Now there's the less obvious ways of spending more than list price for a game. Maybe the game got stolen or lost and you rebuy the game.
Or maybe you want to support the company so you not only buy the digital version but you also buy the physical version. This of course is usually the case with indie games.
Then there is also simply buying the game a second time as a back up, like me owning two copies of Super Metroid on the SNES just in case one happens to die.
Despite having three options I don't think I have done any of these to the point of spending more than list price. In my time gaming I think I have only lost one game and accidentally broke another, but neither of them are worth rebuying.
I have bought De Blob twice, once on Wii and once on PS3, but it was used and much less of a price than if I had bought it brand new.
It would take a VERY special game to make me buy the digital and physical versions. If I could have found it I would have gotten Shantae and the Pirate's Curse since that was an amazing game, far better than Half Genie Hero. >_>

Super Mario Odyssey; a great but not perfect game.
General | Posted 8 years agoNo game that exists, or will ever exist will ever be perfect. Every game has flaws and a fan will ignore those flaws, a TRUE fan will acknowledge and accept those flaws.
Anyway, a ways back I purchased a Switch and Super Mario Odyssey. The game plays very well and has the usual precise controls expected from a Mario game.
Cappy is a much better addition to Mario's movement options than something like the Luma from Super Mario Galaxy, Cappy can give you a little move jump control without all the downsides of the spin from Galaxy. Plus there is the fact that you can dive for Cappy and even bounce off of him if you jump into him just right.
I also greatly appreciate how open this game is, it does have that Super Mario 64 feel to it. Of course usual Nintendo falls into their usual level tropes, World 1 grass, World 2 desert, world 3 water. =P Yes there is more variety than that, but it's worth mentioning.
Playing through the game and just getting to the end is definitely the way this game should be played, since being a completionist this game can be a bit nightmarish...
Which leads me into my problems with the game. Most of these complaints are likely petty and some of them are only a factor if you are a completionist.
Mario takes too long to recover from bumping into a wall or being hit by an enemy. I swear he never gets up. =U
There are a TON of Moons (Moons are this game's version of Stars) that require busy work. Best example of this is in the Lake Kingdom, there are three Lochladies (the jellyfish-like locals) that ask you to dress in a certain outfit. So you teleport (you can teleport to your ship or the nearest checkpoint flag) to the nearest closet which is limited to clothing shops and the Odyssey. (Mario ship in the game) You then have to go through your long list of clothes and hats, put on the respective pieces, teleport to the nearest checkpoint flag and talk to the respective Lochlady. Oh, and now repeat that two more times... If you could change clothes in the pause menu this would have fixed this problem.
There are also pictures that you can examine in every stage. When you examine these pictures it tells you that you can take a picture of them using the Switch's camera button. So if you do want to look at these pictures you need to push the home button, go to the photos viewer, then look at the image there. This SHOULD have been something you can just access in the pause menu IN GAME.
Too many of the Moons are just "pound this spot on the ground." Like so many of them are just a matter of finding this key spot and pounding. Granted with approximately 900 Moons to collect a lot of them are going to be samey, but this could have been avoided by cutting the Moon count.
Another issue I had with the game is I feel it peaked too soon. Metro City, AKA New Donk City, is one of the best parts of the game, especially the music number in it, but after that the game starts to slowly decline in my opinion. The final Bowser fight, plus an event that soon follows, were not the best that the Mario series has offered.
I still haven't gotten 100% in this game, I still have a few Moons and purple "coins" in a few levels and also the horrible Darker Side of the Moon level... I am getting increasingly tired of this game. It's a great game but man it drags if you want to be a completionist with it. I can honestly say that I am NEVER going to 100% this game ever again, I will likely play it and just beat it, but never 100%... So yeah, great game, but there is just too much to do. I like Super Mario 64 since it's fun to play any % and 100%, but Odyssey is going to be limited to any % from now on...
Yes I know I am quick to gripe about games and say the bad points and rarely much of the good, but when EVERYONE is singing a game's praises and making out to be perfect come off as annoying. Talking about the bad points helps show that a game is not perfect and COULD provide feedback for annoying parts that could be excluded in the next game.

My birthday is coming up. (Dec 12th)
General | Posted 8 years agoDecember 12th to be precise. As always I give a month of advance warning in case anyone happens to want to draw me something.
So onto the wishlist:
Females, for any of these females I want hyper breasts at least as large as head, and if you want a nice big booty as well. No tailhole or vagina please, not even cameltoe, either have nothing there or have them wearing some article of clothing.

Now for a character that dominates what I want, Queen Sectonia, for her I would be happy with male, female, anthro, in game design whatever. Just so long as she/he is hyper in whatever way, so breasts, butt, cock, balls all the usual that you see me draw.
By the way, for Sectonia I have recently come upon a TON of pictures of her and a lot of them exclude the wings. So if you want to draw her but not her wings I am okay with that. Have a bunch of images:

Questions about downloading PC games.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo I have a major issue as of late.
I still use a CRT TV and regardless of whether I get a Nintendo Switch of PlayStation 4 I would require an HDTV. (Not so much for the Switch as I could just play it on the screen like a 3DS.) A new HDTV would come with having to reconfiguring all of the cables going into this new TV. I do still have a VCR for the purposes of hooking up my Wii U, Gamecube and PS2 since the VCR has AV ports. Also if I were to get an HDTV I would not longer be able to hook up my N64 and that cuts out a LOT of my favorite games, two Zelda games, Mario 64, Doom 64, Banjo Kazooie and others. Yes you can buy adapters, but lo and behold I can play my N64, PS2, Wii U and Gamecube right now without buying any extra peripherals.
As for the systems themselves, looking at the Nintendo Switch's current game library there isn't a whole lot I want right now aside from Super Mario Odyssey. Yes there are some games on the horizon like Doom 2016 which I do want to play, but at this moment there isn't a whole lot that I want.
For the PS4, well, no backwards compatibility is a major complaint I have with it. I have a load of PS3 games and nothing to play them on... So a PS4 seems like an insult to buy. Yes there are a fair amount of games and the PlayStation store, but still...
I don't want an X-Box One, I just don't. No further comments on that.
So the big issue I have right now is that there are some indie games I'd like to play that either are not on the slightly more favorable Switch, or not on either of those consoles. Ori and the Blind Forest and Cuphead come to mind. Cuphead for example is only on X-Box & PC and is actually the game I'd like to play more. My major issue is not knowing whether or not my PC can handle these games. This is my biggest concern when it comes to buying PC games online, it's not that I will lose out on money, but rather that my computer will not be able to handle the game.
Here are my computer specs:
Windows 10 Home
Processor: Intel Core i3-6100 CPU @ 3.70GHz
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
All I know about computers is what little I use them for as I have never really felt comfortable about buying games online, but if it is coming to that then I may have to overcome these issues.
I would also like it if I didn't have to download Steam to be able to buy these games, again I hate having to download extra things just to play a game.
One more thing is the controller, I have an iBuffalo SNES controller:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.....1PEU48oG3L.jpg
It's a simple plug and play controller that works for most of the freeware games I have downloaded like Jumper, An Untitled Story, I Wanna be the Guy, Guardian of Paradise, Another Metroid 2 Remake and a few others. This controller however does not work with Cave Story or Undertale. So another factor will be whether or not these games work with this controller. I MAY be willing to download something like "Joy-to-key" or whatever it's called but I would likely need a lot of help figuring out how to set it up...
Also, buying a PC controller that will work better than the SNES one will be a LOT less painful than having to buy an HDTV or an adapter that may or may not work as well as I want.
So if anyone knows whether or not my computer can handle games like the two mentioned that would be nice to know.

Some recent game characters I want to see art of.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo recently two indie games came out, "Cuphead" and "A Hate in Time."
Well in Cuphead there is a dragon named Grim Matchstick:
http://cuphead.wikia.com/wiki/Grim_Matchstick
I'd love seeing some more hyper stuff of him~
And in A Hat in Time we have Conductor:
http://ahatintime.wikia.com/wiki/Conductor
Like Grim I would love seeing some more hyper stuff of him~
Of course like every other journal like this I post I don't expect anything to come of it, I just type these in the off chance someone decides to draw the characters I talk about.

Ranking all of the Legend of Zelda games I've played.
General | Posted 8 years agoThis is something I have felt like doing for a while, so I did. =P
The only widely released Zelda game I haven't played is Tri-Force Heroes... and the CDi Zeldas. =P I know there are Japan only Zelda games like BS Zelda, but as said they weren't released world wide.
One thing to note before we start, PERSONAL PREFERENCE!!! It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with my ordering here. This is how I rank these games by how much I enjoy them. So this is all my personal preference
THE BOTTOM 3...
#18: Spirit Tracks (DS)
Spirit Tracks is not only the worst Zelda I have ever played, it's also one of the worst games I have ever played. I just don't like it at all... My last playthrough was absolutely miserable...
#17: Skyward Sword (Wii)
Recently decided to play this game getting every heart piece and gratitude crystal in the game... It was a miserable experience and I thought "this can't be worse that Spirit Tracks" so I played Spirit Tracks for the second time ever... I was proven wrong. >_>
#16: Minish Cap (Game Boy Advance)
Just something about the game I don't like. Even if it's not horrible like the two above, it doesn't change the fact that I like all the others more.
#15: Four Swords (Game Boy Advance)
Not much to say about this one. I played the solo player version that Nintendo put out for free onto the 3DS. I didn't like it.
#14: Phantom Hourglass (DS)
Nowhere near as bad as Spirit Tracks, but it has the same "return to this certain location after every temple" formula that Spirit Tracks had. It makes the flow of the game bad and even without that the last time I played this game I grew bored and stopped. I grew bored of a Zelda game!
#13: Oracle of Ages (Game Boy Color)
Why isn't Oracle of Seasons along side this one? There is a different feel between both games for me, I hate Ages but love Seasons. Darn shame Ages has the nicer looking villain. >w>
#12: Legend of Zelda (NES)
Not a horrible game by any means, but it certainly has not aged very well and I don't mean in a graphical sense. It's very clunky and not the most enjoyable game to play.
#11: Wind Waker (Gamecube)
A game that used to be my favorite Zelda until subsequent playthroughs made me like it less and less. There is an LP'er I watch that described this game perfectly for my point of view, "The problem with Wind Waker is that there is nothing to look forward to." That is so right, none of the temples are very exciting, none of the bosses are very exciting, there is a long Triforce chart/piece fetch quest late game and so on. At least Ganondorf and his battle are really good in this game, so that is something I like about it. =3
#10: Breath of the Wild (Wii U)
The best game of all time only just made it into my top 10, proceed to throw stones at me. >_> If the game was half its size and had some real full length dungeons I would have liked this game more. I would have dealt with all the other things I don't like if I could have gotten some full length traditional dungeons in the game, and the Divine Beasts are NOT full length.
#9: Twilight Princess (Gamecube)
For me the most anticipated game ever, however the biggest disappointment... It's not a bad game, it is 9th place after all, but it just didn't live up to the expectations I had for it...
#8: Four Swords Adventures (Gamecube)
Yes, Four Swords Adventures for the Gamecube is more preferred to me that all of the above Zelda games! I genuinely enjoy playing this game from time to time. I enjoy the puzzles, I enjoy the sword fighting and I enjoy the four Links. It's just a fun game to me. =3 Yes I can recognize why people don't like it, but like I said, personal preference.
#7: Oracle of Seasons (Game Boy Color)
Big placement difference between this and its counterpart. =P But like I said above I just like this one more than Ages.
#6: Zelda 2 Link's Adventure (NES)
Ahh, only the second widely released Zelda game ever made and it was already a black sheep. I can recognize all of the issues with this game, but that doesn't bother me, I really like it. I love how people complain about how bad the checkpoint system is in this game and how balls to the wall hard it is but everyone raves about the Dark Souls series when it does basically the same thing. =P I like this game's difficulty personally~
#5: Ocarina of Time (N64)
A game that just to be near the top 3 of my favorite games of all time and my favorite Zelda game of all time. Yet here it is knocked down to #5. It's still a great game, but there are aspects about it that haven't aged well and once again not in regards to graphics. It's funny how some would say "nostalgia plays a big part" when it comes to picking a favorite game, but for these top 5 I actually have the most fond memories of Ocarina of Time. I have said this before but this game did make me experience a natural high.
#4: Majora's Mask (N64)
Though I am not fond of there being only four dungeons in this game the last time I played through it I was having an absolute blast that rivaled the last time I played OoT. So I consider it more favorable than OoT, but not enough to enter into my top 3.
THE TOP 3!
#3: Link Between Worlds (3DS)
Man this was a Zelda game I needed after the few that were released before it. Yes it is somewhat riding on the coattails of Link to the Past, but the structure of the game is VERY in the spirit of what Zelda is supposed to be, freedom to explore what and where you want. Yes the game map is not very big, but when you get down to #1 you will see that size isn't everything, isn't that right BotW? =P Anyway, I just really love this game, it's got a good difficulty to it despite being able to be played in almost any order, the bosses are fun and memorable, the dungeons are fun and memorable and getting 100% in this game is very enjoyable. =3
#2: Link to the Past (SNES)
Really hard to pick between this one and Link Between Worlds, there are things about each one I like more than the other. In all honesty though Link Between Worlds wouldn't exist without without Link to the Past so it's kind of necessary to rank LttP higher, but really let's just say that these two games are interchangeable for #3 and #2, might even say that they are tied for 2nd place. =3 But neither of them outdo my favorite Zelda game. >w>
#1: Link's Awakening (Game Boy)
That's right, the little Game Boy Zelda game. Fun fact, I really don't have any nostalgic memories with this game. I did beat it as a kid, but it was just another Zelda game to me back then. It seems to be a game that has grown on me the more I play it. Even without screen warp glitching everywhere this game has a nice pace and difficulty curve to it, there is loads of fun exploration despite the map not being very large, the sword fighting here seems a little more refined than in LttP and overall I just enjoy this game very highly. =3

General | Posted 8 years agoSo yesterday at work one of the janitors I work with had their thin metal tube of a broom break in half and therefore it was thrown away for me to take care of it. As I was putting all of my trash into the compactor this half a broom handle gouged into the bottom of my arm and scraped a hefty layer of skin off, I'd say about a one and a quarter inch wide circle. First thing I did as soon as I could was return inside from the compactor area and rinsed the cut in a bathroom sink then pressed a paper towel against it.
After finishing up and returning home I had my father take a look at it so we could bandage it up better. First some alcohol to kill off germs followed by a firm gritting of my teeth he put some gauze pads on it then wrapped some bandage tape around it.
My father made a doctor's appointment this morning to get it checked out since it was a little deeper than just a surface cut. So I've got some stitches and a bandage wrapped around my arm right now. The worst thing is it slightly stings so it's kind of annoying.
Not really anything majorly important, just felt like bringing it up. I did get a doctor's excuse for not going into work today or tomorrow. Logically that makes sense considering I don't want to make the stitches rip of anything since I do a lot of heavy lifting at work. So hooray(?) I get two days off, but since I am a sub-contractor it's not likely I will get paid for those days, so woo hoo.

Does anyone know where these characters are from? *FOUND*
General | Posted 8 years agoFirst off hurricane update, it pretty much fizzled out once it made landfall, so in the area I live in the worst we got was some minor downed branches.
So with that out of the way, onto what I wanna ask.
Recently I was going through the crap in my room and getting rid of stuff I don't want anymore. One of the things I have are a bunch of pages torn out of gaming magazines, mostly because of a sexy girl character. >_>
Anyway, one of these pages actually has a pair of sexy guys, however I have no idea where they are from.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/pqrubirzd.....0page.jpg?dl=0
Obviously those two guys nearer to the bottom of the page. I scanned the whole page in case there is some clue to help finding this out. If anyone knows where they are from or who they are I would appreciate it. I really like the one in green especially~
So if anyone could help out I would appreciate it.

General | Posted 8 years agoI was recently looking for Queen Sectonia stuff on Google images.
As I searched I came across this:
http://d2ydh70d4b5xgv.cloudfront.ne.....8122058cac.jpg
The Engrish seems to make it called "Doujinshi Kirby's Dream Queen Sectonia X Land Taranza" However searching that I keep getting the same images.
I am not looking to buy this, but if anyone knows if all the pages have been scanned online somewhere I would very much like to see them! ANYTHING with Sectonia is very rare and I want to see what this Doujinshi has to offer. =U
Any help would be appreciated.

Your most memorable gaming experience(s).
General | Posted 8 years agoHave you ever played a game and a moment in the game was an amazing personal experience?
Now for clarity, simply playing the game and a part in the story was memorable doesn't count.
For a quick example let's say you played Undertale and the ending was very memorable to you. That doesn't count since that is the intention of the maker of the game.
Where as let's say you struggled to defeat Omega Flowey, maybe it took you hours or all day. Upon defeating him the experience was very memorable, that DOES count.
I will cover mine in the order they occured in my life, I believe.
1: Super Metroid
While playing the game I got stuck. The next place I needed to get into was the other part of Maridia. I did not know how to get in there as I didn't think anything could be done with the glass tube that was blocking the way. Well one day I placed a power bomb then lo and behold the glass tube broke. To me this was so memorable since I had been stuck for a LONG time and it felt like the game finally opened up after such a long time. Keep in mind this was before the internet was easily available and there weren't many people that talked about Super Metroid in my school.
2: Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
I remember getting the sword and shield then as I got past Mido then when I encountered the first enemies I experienced something I can only describe as a natural high. This happy feeling was something I hadn't experienced before then and only experienced a few times after that. Not much else to say about this than that.
3: Banjo Kazooie
This one was more recent, but I enjoy speed running this game. Now I am nowhere in league with the likes of Stivitybobo, I am just playing for my own personal record. It's like this guy says here: https://youtu.be/ZagrW3fLFAk?t=3m20s Anyway, at one point I just wanted less than 5 hours, so I got 4:12.
Then after watching a quick speedrun my Stivitybobo I got 3:29 and that felt amazing.
After that I got 3:22 and felt that was the best I could do.
Months or a year later I was in the mood for a run of the game and casually I got 3:40.
I was then bitten by the speedruning bug so I watched a more recent run by Stivitybobo and learned the actual route to take.
My first attempt with the route was a 3:25, but I felt it to be a horible run.
My next attempt shot all the way down to around 3:12 or so, but I still felt I made a lot of mistakes so I wanted to try just one last time.
My final run was split into two segments, but keep in mind that BK hard saves VERY often and you HAVE to find a good stopping point since you CANNOT retry segments. One issue is getting 100 music notes in a stage all in one run. After beating Grunty and watching the credits the game went back to the title screen. In my silly way I covered the TV screen with my hand so as to not see the time right away. I saw that I had all 100 Jiggies and all 900 music notes. I pulled my hand away to see... 2:57! I wasn't just seconds below 3 hours, I was minutes below it! I don't care if the best time is an hour less than my time, I personally wanted a sub 3 hour run, then achieved it and it felt so good!
4: Animal Crossing New Leaf
I've spoken of this before, but I will never forget June 25th of 2016. My final day of ACNL was surprisingly emotional. 26 months of playing the game and it all came to an end that day. My last event was having K.K. Slider perform my favorite of his songs, Stale Cupcakes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eUXMDeEwUs (I know it's not the ACNL version, it doesn't seem to exist on YouTube.)
When the song and credits started playing I started crying. It's not so much that it's a sad song, but rather what it became tied to, the end of my ACNL playthrough. Now the Banjo Kazooie moment may have been the most enjoyable experience while playing a video game, but this one in ACNL is certainly the most emotional.
