Ripping 2011 A New One!
Posted 13 years agoAnother year gone, another year of stupidity reigns! This is A-Log giving you the dumbest things to ever happen to 2011 as the year comes to a close.
1.Charlie Sheen: "Biwinning" Isn't Enough!
Last Spring, Charlie Sheen (known for many a coke binge) reached an apex of a proverbial meltdown when he was fired from his role on the sitcom "Two And A Half Men" for asking for way too much money. For several months, the proclaimed rock star from Mars went into a downward spiral of craziness that included his "Goddesses" leaving him, to having Ashton Kutcher taking his place, as well as being booed out of his own tour. All and all, one word did manage to survive throughout his meltdown... biwinning! He claimed that he wasn't bipolar but biwinning. Funny as the word seems, I believe that "bilosing" would be much more appropriate for the man who claims to have tiger blood and is an all-powerful warlock.
2.Spider Man - Turn Off The Dark: With Great Power Comes Great Medical Bills!
When U2's Bono and The Edge created music for "Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark", they should've at least added a funeral dirge. Other than continual delays, several actors playing Spidey were injured due to the high-risk stunts that were involved. If there is one good thing to come out from this Broadway play that is a high-risk, no rewards version of "Moose Murders" (a play so bad, it closed on its opening night!), is this: fans will no longer think that "Spiderman 3" is the worst thing involving everyone's favorite webslinger.
3.Deaths in 2011: Dammit, Grim!
As with every year, there have been numerous deaths that have been notable. Among the dead are actress Elizabeth Taylor, dementia artist Wild Man Fischer, actor and voice-over Kenneth Mars, Last Comic Standing 7 comedian Mike DeStefano, the original voice of Utena Tenjou Tomoko Kawakami, British DJ Sir Jimmy Savile, nouveau soul singer Amy Winehouse (which was the most shocking, considering her age), singer Gerry Rafferty, anime voice actress and singer Michal "Michal The Girl" Friedman, among many others. But hey, there is at least one good thing to come out of it: this year, Grim has finally managed to get Osama bin Laden, Muammar Gadaffi and (surprisingly near the end of the year) Kim-Jong Il. Didn't expect that to happen, didn't ya?
4.Kim Kardashian's Wedding: How Did She Fit That Ass in That Gown?
Reality TV sucks, but what sucks even more is the insufferable pricks that are in it! (The only likable reality TV contestant this year was Casey Abrams.) When Kim Kardashian married Kris Humphries, only to divorce a mere 72 days later, it gave us this question: why do these religious nutcases and politicians still think that gays getting married is sacrilege, but when a straight couple that doesn't love each other does so, it counts as holy and just? Am I the only one that wants to spank Kim for being a brat? But what's the point of that? Her ass would just deflate!
5.Harold Camping: Holy Bullshit!
Impatient that 2012's supposed destruction of the world, Harold Camping and his radio show announced that the world would end on May 21, 2011. When that didn't happen, he backtracked to say that it'll happen in October. Well, October came and went, and still no worldwide destruction. We lost Jimmy Savile, but that was it. What are the odds that he'll be doing this again if we make to 2013?
That's all I'll say about what happened in 2011. I'm sure that 2012 will have some interesting stuff. Among them the things I'm looking forward to are the following:
Skullgirls
The Three Stooges movie (I know people are complaining about the trailer, but please hold all criticisms until after you watch the movie)
2012 Olympics in England
Sly Cooper 4
And now, here's a few good things that happened this year:
Weird Al's new AL-bum, Alpocalypse
The new Muppets movie
C.M. Punk and Daniel Bryan winning the gold in the WWF.
Until next year, don't forget to stay weird!

10 Years Later... (Dr. Demento)
Posted 14 years agoNearly 10 years ago, I sent a song parody to the Dr. Demento Show to play for his then upcoming Groucho Marx tribute show; that parody was "Groucho Marx's Mustache" (a parody of "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes). I recorded it on a cassette tape, had the MIDI version of the song as instrumental back up, and did the fade-out by lowering the volume. (Yes, that was low budget.)
After I came back from camp, I looked up the playlist to see it didn't made it. The good doctor did like my attempt to play it for himself, but not for airplay.
10 years later...
Whimsical Will (of the Demented News) quits his yearly summer movie adventure break-in series (in the style of Dickie Goodman) after 24 years in 2010, due to the crapiness that is pop radio. So far, Chris Wolvie sent in his entry this year with "Hey Green Lantern" and I went with my entry, "Smurfin' With the Smurfs" for the upcoming Smurfs movie. Well, as luck would have it, Dr. Demento finally played it on today's show... in the bonus tracks section. Hey, a debut's a debut; bonus tracks or otherwise! See for yourself:
http://www.dmdb.org/cgi-bin/plinfo......rd11.0716.html
So after 10 years, something of mine has been played on the Dr. Demento Show! I hope this could give me some recognition and more airplay. If you want to hear it for yourself, it's up on the FuMP Sideshow (http://www.thefump.com/sideshow.php). If you want to listen to the show itself, go here: http://drdemento.com/online.html?i=DDS1129. Don't worry, it only cost about 2 bucks! Give it a listen and you'll see how far I went. And if you want to listen to it again, and probably get it to the Top 10 (and maybe the Funny 25 as well), go to the show's request page here:
http://drdemento.com/request/
So far, it's also been played on Revenge of the Particle and my show, A-Log on the Airwaves; my friend Wacky Ben Pulliam will also play it this Tuesday as well. So help me get this break-in some recognition, even though the movie might tank. Tell your friends about it, and request away! Funny 25 or bust!
Stay Weird,

My 26th Year of Existence!
Posted 14 years agoAs of today, May 8th, 2011, I am now 26 years old! Everybody party!
Welcome to 2011!
Posted 14 years agoWelcome to 2011, my friends! Let us give 2010 the proper send off; good-bye, you jive turkey! Now let's see how the first day of 2011 will go, shall we?
Merry Christmas! (Sorry for the long wait)
Posted 14 years agoI know it's been a while since I posted something on this page, let alone this journal. I'll say this: I've been busy with college, writing projects, and I'm just a little shy. But still, I hope you'll remember me from DA and other sites as A-Log.
Anyway, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas (Happy Christmas to my British friends) and a festive New Year as well. A Christmas lemon will be posted up tomorrow as a present to you all. You see, I'm mostly a lemon writer. I'm known for my series, "World's Luckiest Guy" which was once hosted on Fanfiction.net and The Ultimate Fan-Fiction Site. You'll see an example of that (hopefully) tomorrow.
And also, I might be in an upcoming comic by this guy, Avinz (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/avinz/). Haven't been used to this; first time posting a journal here. Wish me luck, guys!
Happy Holidays!
