NEW redline service! Take a look! =D
Posted 13 years ago
They're starting off a little bit slow, but such is the way with art-help pages. However, if you ever need something red-lined, or checked over for proportions and anatomy accuracy... go right there and give them a link. =)
I think this is an awesome service... I hope they get real popular and help a lot of artists get better. ^_^

Anyone interested in helping an artist out?
Posted 13 years agoI received a note recently from an artist who would really appreciate it if someone could help him/her line some artwork.
Artist in question:
The request:
Hi, I'm relativity new to drawing, and I've been wanting to upload a few of my drawings and be able to color them digitally, but I find it impossible to do line art with only a mouse.
I can easily do the coloring myself with the current program I have, but I was hoping a call could be put out for people willing to do a quick lining for me? I don't really know anyone myself who could do it ^^;
Thank you very much for all the work you have put into this group
If anyone is interested in helping Unleashed Dragon out, send a note his way. =)
Thanks for reading!

I'll be working on adding them to our own Index of Tutorials soon.

NEW video tutorial! (by Ferality)
Posted 14 years agohttp://www.furaffinity.net/view/6105876/
Ferality made a video tutorial, and I'm happy to say that they use a lot of the same steps I've already broken down for you... so I think seeing them all used together like this would be very good for the learning experience. ^_^
Basically, it's a video (sped up) showing how Ferality sketches out their drawings and lines them... with little notes explaining what they're doing as they do it... it's not a very long video, but I think it could be helpful... so give it a look. =)
~AAMP
P.S. Please check out this journal, if you haven't already: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2516107/
I haven't had many replies, and I'd really like to tell Habu she'll be having an audience this weekend when she livestreams! And I'd like to be able to tell her when you're all available, so she can schedule it to catch as many of you as possible. xD
We have a guest Livestreamer!
Posted 14 years agoAre you one of the many who prefers learning by watching and asking questions? Good! We here at AAMP are very fortunate to have attracted an awesome artist (habu) who is willing to help us out with tutorials AS WELL AS host some livestream events for our watchers~!
I know, I've been very naughty in not livestreaming as much as I or you all would like. However, now there will be two of us running livestreams, so hopefully they will become much more regular. ^_^
SO! The first thing I need to know, in order to help habu decide when to run her livestreams... is when are you available for them? Habu is very flexible in her schedule, so we need a few interested people to let us know when is best for them... so we can plan a productive livestream event for a group of you. ^_^
Habu has stated this is her basic availability:
Monday-Thursday 5-6pm Pacific Standard Time (USA)
Friday-Saturday 12pm, 4pm, and 8pm (most flexible on these days)
Sunday 5pm Pacific Standard Time (USA)
Now, obviously she won't be running livestreams everyday... so please post here, letting me know which days you are most available and if the times above for those days would work... that way I can give Habu a ballpark figure of how many people will attend, and we can schedule a livestream.
The first livestream will probably be this next coming weekend... the 15th-17th of July.

How to use Model Sheets (Youtube video!)
Posted 14 years agoNew Tutorials Available~!
Posted 14 years agoI found someone gathering up tutorials in their journal here, and I noticed that they are tutorials AAMP hadn't seen yet. So here, enjoy some new tutorials. =)

Glow Tutorial by Zambuka (FA):
If you've ever wanted to know how to make something "glow," this is a good place to start. I wouldn't suggest making too many things glow in the same picture, however, it ends up looking crazy.

An awesome, helpful tutorial on drawing a dragon head.

A helpful set of example brushes to use in Sai. Shows you which to use for sketching, which for inking, and coloring as well.
Anthro Horse Head by Rov (FA):
A guide on how to draw an anthro horse head. Good instructions.
Problems Conquered & New Tutorials/Practice Sheets
Posted 14 years agoMercifully, the error that caused my external hard drive (which houses all my art programs, art, and reference materials) to corrupt itself was reversible. I didn't lose any important files, and almost everything works perfectly again. I'm relieved, and now I can get to making those tutorials I promised! ^_^
I'm starting work on new tutorials and practice sheets. Here's a "working on" list, so you know what to expect:
(Listed in no particular order, may not be completed in order)
Hand Tutorial (hand/finger/thumb anatomy, palms, grasping objects)
Foot Tutorial (foot/toe/ankle anatomy, anthro paw anatomy)
Eye Tutorial (anatomy, style e.g. anime, cartoon, realistic)
Jaw Tutorial (the anatomy of human and anthro/animal skulls and jaws)
Standard Proportions of the body
Wing Tutorial (wing anatomy, feathered, insect, reptile, etc)
Inking Tutorial
Shading Tutorial
Poses (how to use, how to make, couples, etc)
Clothing & Folds
Each will be a flash tutorial, have a practice sheet (if applicable), and have a youtube video tutorial for those who prefer being talked through it (audio/visual learners).

Serious Computer Error
Posted 14 years agoI don't know how it happened, but somehow downloading the newest upgrade for City of Heroes REAMED my external hard drive. The drive I use to do art, and the drive where I store most of my computer programs... such as Paint Tool Sai.
Until I figure out what the HELL just happened, and if it's possible to fix, I'm unable to do anything.
Let's hope I can fix this. That's where all my AAMP stuff is that I've been working on as well. =[
Help Me Make Plans For April
Posted 14 years agoCome April, I'm going to have A LOT of time on my hands, and I'm going to be keeping busy by railroading through a bunch of tutorials and things to add to this page. =)
Help me out by helping me cement my ideas, so I can start on them ASAP.
1. I have a good list of tutorials and sample pages to work on, specifically for here on FA. Here's some of my ideas, comment with what you think I should add.
Fingers, palm of hand, thumb, hand (total)
Toes, foot (total), ankle, paws (total)
Human Jaws & Animal Jaws
Eyes - Anime, Disney, Cartoon, Etc (examples)
Drawing hair
Ear Positions for humans and anthros
Wings, Horns, Fins, Etc
2. I have several good ideas for more youtube tutorials. Here's some of my ideas, comment with what you think I should add.
How to use the free model sheets (for drawing thin or chubby people)
How to draw faces (human)
How to draw faces (anthro)
3. I'm gonna try and do some free model sheets of couples.
None of this starts till April, but after that I'm going to be full of free time and need to keep myself busy. xD
Looking for an art partner?
Posted 14 years ago
He's a dedicated artist, trying to improve on his abilities, but he needs someone to help him stay motivated... and someone to make drawing fun!
He'd like to share daily work and progress with others, because he believes working together is better than working alone, especially since his country doesn't have any real art schools. =)
He's interested in furry art as well as human art, but it isn't essential to working with him. You can be either.
So if you're interested in having someone as an "art buddy," give this guy a shout. =)
OR
If you're looking for an art partner, post here and look at others who have posted here... and see if you can find someone. =) I'll leave this journal open for the purpose of "seeking" art partners.

Ever wanted to make your own fursuit?
Posted 14 years agoLearn how NOW!
kithylinperth created an awesome series of tutorials on how to make the different parts of a fursuit, and I think it's pretty awesome. It may not have you ending up with the "perfect" fursuit, but it's an awesome way to save yourself a lot of time and money by making it yourself!
If you want to take a look, links to all her tutorials are in her profile, and in our Index of Tutorials. =) However, for this journal, I'm going to add the links here as well, because I believe it deserves the attention.
As for personal info, I'm back and working on more model sheets and tutorials. If there's any tutorials or help you'd like me to address ASAP, please comment and let me know. I have a few ideas of what to work on next, but outside opinion is never a bad thing. =)

Advertise for AAMP~! Spread the word~!
Posted 14 years agoIt's rather strange, but I'm still surprised by how unknown AAMP is on FA. I get new watches/favs/comments every time I upload something, and people keep thanking me for my work on it, but each one says something to the effect of "I never knew this existed!" and I'd like to change that... or, at least, I'd like it to be more to the tune of "a friend of mine pointed me here."
So, if you don't mind (it isn't mandatory), try and spread the word... whether through a journal or by simply telling a friend who might be interested. I'd like for everyone on FA to have the chance and the boost they need to get better. =)
~AAMP
P.S. New tutorials (by me) will be coming soon, and if you have any tutorials you know of that we don't have listed in our Index of Tutorials, please let us know.
