Posted 17 years agoPeople ask me frequently, why are you into this kind of stuff. You are a crazy faggot that has no idea what do do with you’re life. That’s not true, I have a job, attend school and enjoy myself. Yet this pastime has begun to become a burden upon me. I’m pritty open about everything. I tell only my friends the juicy stuff. Not like they care.
It all began when I allowed a direct connection on AIM, an acquaintance of mine sent me a bunch of rude and disgusting pictures. Among them was one with renamon. So what who gives! I looked up the artist because I had it in my head that I would prank one of the people at my church by putting it in their little cubby and scaring the crap out of them. It would be awesome.
But my life took a different turn. I began to research the artist “Karabiiner” I learned that this japanese artist belonged to a whole cult of Anthropomorphic artists namely “Furries”
I’ve always had a dislike for anime. The perfectly renderd hair and hips were too much for me to bear. I had to have some sort of disconnect with my friends or else I would have almost everything in common with them. I have always been an artfag, staring at some paintings for hours and enjoying the latest new tech art. Yet the relm of furries had a connection with me. I loved animals at first. My dog has always been a great inspiration for art and body structure. Furries was almost considered a cult among my friends as a bunch of gay twits that have no real concept of life, and enjoined having sex with animals.
This was not true.
Never in my life did I have the urge to do my dog. But I can understand the concept. I frequently get random people to message me aim to request an album from a flash called “There She Is!!” This one person is a loli-lover. (somebody who loves images of little girls). It was my first reaction to tell him off while he did the same about my “furfetish” yet we both came to a consensus that everybody’s got something odd or strange about them. Their click per say. He loved pink floyd records while I did (and still do) have a solid fetish for mindless self indulgence. At this point I realized how odd people can be. Everybody’s got their own querks.
But I often relate to myself when all my friends are talking about Animes. How cool one episode is over another. Whenever I think about people who like anime I think of Japanese kids in their basement strokn their harbl to some well-drawn curvy chick with huge eyes in despair. It’s not everybody who does this, it’s just my personal take on anime.
Who knows, maybe if I went with the scene of anime and wasted hours of my life watching bundles and bundles of anmated dudes fly/kill/get it on/ etc. I would more to relate to my friends but not enough to enjoy myself. I love seeing the underground retro art constantly emerging from the furry fandom. There is bundles of creativity and unique feelings and attributes that are well on their way to becoming something bigger.
I quote from a thread from fchan with this statement:
Furries are not a worth-while target audience. That is, there wouldn’t be enough of a financial return on such a project for any animation studio to consider making something with such a narrowly defined target audience in mind. All that hentai has a HUGE number of people willing to buy it, in multiple countries. Hell, most people may even go out of their way to avoid a movie targeted to furries. The closest thing you’ll find to a “furry” character in most kinds of hentai movies is going to be a movie with “anime catgirls.” That’s always been fine for me, but I know a LOT of furries look down on/straight-out hate the “human with ears/tail” kind of character. Their loss, I suppose.
It’s true. There is not enough market to create something larger in this context. It’s not often that people relate to this in public. Therefore it will never become larger then a select thousand. Who knows. Maybe some of the famous artists will actually one day get compensation for their work and star in something bigger to reach out to more then just a random post. Till then, I’ll be waiting for There She Is, Step 3
