Posted 13 years agoI need to post some scanned stuff. Bogged down trying to finish the Dragon's Hoard comic 
dragonshoard and keep up with my job. I'm kind of bummed about how difficult it is working alone on the weekends and it's really stressful trying to not fuck things up. This is often easier to resolve by hiking or gardening and doing physical things or getting out of the house when I'm not scrubbing or washing like a maniac. So if you have a commission from me, please feel free to bug me politely. I'm trying to do a TON of house and yard cleaning to keep from getting all yucky and depressed, as well as streamlining how I want to arrange my art supplies and pets in ways that are healthy and less cluttery than my usual insane piles. I don't forget commissions, they just simmer for awhile while I have nervous breakdowns over very small things :3
I'm not a high powered workhorse of an artist except at con time so apologies for wait times, etc. If you are honest and patient with me, I'll make it worth your time. Soon will post a batch of things to mail out and that will help me clear brainspace to focus on the newer things.

DEAR FA, PLEASE MAKE IT EASIER TO DELETE SHIT
Posted 13 years agoDear LORD, it is the most pain in the ASS process to delete a submission here. I have two requests:
Put more than 16 submissions on the delete page at a time...
Also, please send me back to the deleting page that I deleted an item from- NOT MY FRONT PAGE!!!!!! FUCK!!! I have the attention span to delete about TWO IMAGES when it is like this. Otherwise, I would so delete the fuck out of a ton of pictures that are just hanging around. Guess what? I don't have ten hours to devote towards cleaning up my FA page... so sorry if all my old shit and stupid photos I took three years ago are annoying. If it bugs you at all, want to email the staff about it?
And yes, I know this is a free service. I do appreciate it's a lot of work BUT- that doesn't mean that it won't help them out by making it easier to remove shit from it. People would probably remove old shit WAY faster if it didn't mean slogging through pages and pages to get to the right pic and then have to do it ALL FROM THE TOP to do it again. Swear to dog, I would have a much less crappy collection if I could sort and delete with any convenience! I still love the site, but it's very frustrating and I pretty much refuse to buy advertising because of this issue.

Posted 13 years agoSo I put down one of my rescued snakes this morning, a luecistic Texas Ratsnake, all white with pale blue eyes and a fiesty but sweet temperment. It was so depressing and bittersweet. She had a huge tumor in the vicinity of her liver. Her name was Ripley (yes from Aliens) because one day I came home from vacation and she'd laid eggs in her water dish. Until that day, I thought she was a boy and very young. She must have been older than I thought, or maybe her genetics sucked, but I got her full grown and assumed she was a younger snake and kept her for 4-5 years I think. She was always hungry and got pretty fat at one point, and almost always buzzed her tail like a rattlesnake if she thought you were getting too close. Man, she was so funny. When she had some skin issues, I had to medicate her and despite all her fighting and lunging, the little brat never bit me, it was all bluff and puff with her. At one point I thought of getting her a boyfriend so she could have cute little ones but I'm kind of glad I didn't. As much as I would love to have one of her fiesty little babies to remember her by, I suspect she may have been improperly begat and even if she wasn't I'd worry that her babies would have some kind of cancer gene waiting to strike. She was so mellow and probably not feeling too hot, so things went as well as they could have. I think she was gone before I even put her back under her hide to rest, and she just sat in my lap for a good while after the Dr. left. I wish I could have done better, but it went as nicely as these things can go, I just wish we could have had a few more years together. My sweet brat... :C

I'd been thinking of re-homing a few of my rescue kids since I've been working my ass off full time at a hospital. It's such a bummer to not be able to let her go to a devoted place and I feel like an asshole for not given more time to them lately. Thankfully, I am making enough extra at work that I'm saving up both for Transgender stuff and some new snake cages to keep them all in better spaces. I wish I could just fucking communicate with them on a human level just once so they would know how much I want to keep them safe and happy. Having human babies is a lot of work, but at least most parents get the chance to one day apologize for being a fuck up or not being perfect.
Going to work on finishing Mickey the bat suit and drink a little in my white lady's memory. Watch some dippy MLP or something cheerful for company ^^ Just try to take them time to appreciate your living friends, plant or animal. The main reason I believe in stuff like heaven or afterlife is I'd really like to say a few things to everyone I've lost. After that, I'm kind of okay with oblivion or whatever. Also, if I haven't talked with you in a while, feel free to drop me a comment or note and hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy life as much as you can, don;t sweat the small shit ya'll!

I was looking up a nice quote to ask everyone's opinions on donations and found some delightfully distracting Oscar Wilde instead. Though I feel this one applies abstractly enough to my situation, transgender wise. For those of you just tuning in, I was born female but have always felt more like a gay guy than a girl or a woman. I've been dressing more like a guy and binding my chest to look less feminine and it's been a relief to finally feel more like "me"
I've come to the decision to start testosterone therapy and start saving for FTM top surgery. Basically, I will have to be funding these things myself unless I discover that I have some crazy rare genetic propensity for ovarian cancer. This is HIGHLY unlikely. So I'm trying to think of ways I can do art raffles for donations. I am not one to overextend myself and do "free art" for donations because it isn't fair to promise art to people if I may not be able to follow up with it.
I'm hoping some of you might have good ideas for potential fundraisers. What would you donate for? A chance for a really cheap commission? A sketch/possibly more detailed art of any subject/char if you donate $15? I'm thinking of doing a few things. A ladder donation auction seems pretty cool, where the more money raised, the bigger the raffle prize? That way I could do three or four prizes if enough folks contribute.
I am setting up a separate paypal under aazhie[at]gmail.com so that all donations end up going to a separate account so i can properly track and thank folks for donations. If, by some bizzarre happenstance, I end up not needing the funds, I can either give you some awesome art, refund or donate to a good animal charity. My prime choice is Never Cry Wolf of the Sacramento area in California and Humboldt Wildlife Rescue. These two places are really awesome groups that take great care of their wards ^^
Any opinions? What would you like to see as a donation? Thanks for all ideas or encouragement! ^^

Posted 14 years agoSo I'm considering looking into some kind of therapy. It would be nice to discuss how I feel about not always being in the right body. ^^ I don't expect anything special as far as talking to/about me. I'm kind of cool with either pronoun and I'm kind of lazy about trying to look like a guy. If I were actually trying to pass on a day to day basis I might get upset, but it's really whatever people are ok with. I know who I am, even if it changes sometimes and I'm not always miserable in a female body. I'm too scared by surgery to really mess with any of that stuff, at least not for a long time. And I like to wear girly shit, I'm not trying to confuse people or anything, but I do like lolita looking shit, I just imagine myself as a dude cross dressing when I wear it XD
I feel like ya'll should know, since I'm more open about stuff around my furry friends, and I am interested in meeting others with similar, uh issues? It's not something that I'm trying to 'fix'. I am in Spain, coming home in a few days. It has been insane and lovely and Im ready to return to a slightly less hot place with more internets. Sevilla is crazy fun and wierd.
I will be shipping out and finishing arts after i get back, I noted everyone that has a paid commission still outstanding but wil be checking pms and such when i am home. I suspect I will be sculpting and drawing a lot of Spain inspired things.

Commisisions update
Posted 16 years agoSo I'm a bit behind on commissions, but I should be able to finish everything soon, probably this weekend. I am open for new commissions but they will be started once i finish up the older ones!
Prices for the time being are:
Basically, line drawings are $20, inked is $25, colored one char is $40 unless the coloring is really simple, then it is $35. Colored two char is $55. Other chars can be added for $5-10 depending on complexity.

Posted 16 years agoSome very awesome girl found my art bag dumped in the dunes while she was hiking on the beach nearby. YAY! I have been drawing for the past three days and don't feel like stopping! For those with trades and such in the works, it may be some time before I can redraw them (some of the drawings were pretty gross and got a little wet but i can trace them onto clean paper to finish them up). So things are much better, I am still open for commissions and working on those that people have already paid for. Things may be a little slow while i am restoring the more damaged art. Sadly, I was going to submit several pieces that got stolen to the AC art show, so i will be finishing them for FC or possibly auctioning them off on Furbuy. I will post here if i do any online auctions or sales of originals.

ARGH! MY ART IS STOLEN, missing bag of art...

So last week some jerkoff broke into my car and I'm assuming, mistook my art bag for a freaking laptop or something. So a whole lot of my art is probably rotting in some landfill by now. I feel so stupid for leaving it in my car, but at the time it seemed ok. I have left it there before for much longer (got home at 2AM and woke up at 10am!!) so it didn't seem like a big deal.
I WAS WRONG.
I wanted to let everyone know all my finished commissions were not in there, However a sketch for Jussiah was. It wasn't a very complete piece, thank god! I can re-sketch easily from character references. But I lost a bunch of personal pieces that were unfinished and practically all the art i was going to sell at AC this summer. So I will be even more up shite creek than when I reopened commissions a few weeks ago. Plus I lost a crapload of art supplies and giftart and just can't stop making myself feel bad for not taking better care of my stuff...
So if you want to commission me I am certainly open, but i will need a little time to build up a cashpile to repurchase pencils, pens, erasers, sketchbooks and i will be spending a bit of free time cruising around a putting up fliers.
If you have a couple bucks to spare i would be so incredibly grateful for any donations. If you like my art and want me to start drawing more art soon, it would be really nice if you wanted to donate.
If you paypal me, send a reference of a character or a sketch idea in the paypal message and i will try and draw you a little something. I'll upload a sketch dump or two with pictures for as many of the donations as I can. Please try to keep it simple, since I will be filling a few sketchbook pages and they will be small drawings. I'd love to have an excuse to draw fun things so that I can stop being depressed over being an idiot.

My work hours over the summer are always less than win fall and winter, so I am trying to make up for the loss of my rent money by taking on some more work. I am almost finished with a few older pieces and should have my list clear by the end of the month.
I will take deposits and half payments for artwork. I am also happy to do sketches and reduced price artwork depending on your budget. Obviously the more a commission costs the more time i can put into it. I will take material good trades, my focus is on taxidermy type items like antlers and fur, fake or real. But I also dig things like clothes, art supplies and other nonsense. Drop me a line if you have something and I'll see what I can do. I may list some art and items for sale here if I get the time.

Posted 16 years agoLife happens. A couple days ago I was barfing my guts out. It was awesome. Then i drew an awesome model sheet and read a book from the best comic book series EVAR. It was a spinoff of Constantine: Hellblazer. So not a comic nerd but I fucking love this series.
I have much art to scan and bequeth upon my faithful friends and yea, doth the people cheer! Before puking myself awake all night I managed to finish some stuff and skecth a lot of other stuff. I will scan it soon, i promise!

I am not aloof, ok, maybe I am. I get caught up in social aspects of these types of sites. So if i don't respond to your shout or comment, it probably isn't personal. I make the mistake of trying to socialize with everyone, and I'm really forcing myself to focus on artwork. If you really want a response, please ask a reasonable question of some sort and I will do me best to get back atcha! I do look at profiles when folks watch or fav my work. I only fav stuff that i like, I may not watch too many artists. Avoiding the distraction thing. heh.
Also trying to make this a more professional collection rather than just an art dump. I want a decent portfolio that will show off my work and how much better it has gotten since around 2005. i have uploaded a small collection of art from my past, but from now on I am going to try and do mostly finished and recent works. Which means i may not upload for awhile. XD
anyways, thanks again and i hope i can make more enjoyable art happen for you soon!!
