The Twin Peaks live album is out and it is LIT! 6 of the 20 songs I've heard them play better, but overall the album is pretty awesome. And it's only 10 bucks on iTunes! That's 50 cents a track for the best rock 'n' roll around today!

I'll be seeing them in Charlottesville in early May, and I couldn't be more excited about it. I'm literally going two and a half hours from where I live, during my final exam week for it.

Chuck Berry, the man responsible for more of rock and roll than anyone else, died this afternoon at the age of 90.

He had announced a new album that was supposed to come out this year, his first since the '70s. I hope he was able to finish it.

For anyone playing in a band, LEARN HOW TO END YOUR FUCKING SONGS! Don't just one-by-one stop playing until it dies. Figure out an actual way to end it. Otherwise you're not a "band," you're just a bunch of casuals jamming.

Also don't change who's playing bass after every song. And don't tell your girlfriend she can play guitar with your band if she can't actually do it.

Seems he's (wisely) abandoned the carseatheadrest account upon getting famous. According to shouts left on that page, there was a time when he posted music here. Man, imagine hearing someone's music on Fur Affinity and then they end up playing on Jimmy Fallon. I mean, that's totally gonna happen to me too. I'd bet he's still lurking around somewhere, but if he doesn't want to be found, I won't look too hard. Still, it's really fucking cool to do the archaeology.

So what clued me in? My relevant Resolution is to re-launch myself with a different name and character, which I've been planning to do for a while. I've gotten back into writing, an old hobby of mine that two years of AP English classes had temporarily turned me off of. When I first became a furry and registered my accounts (almost two years ago, holy shit), I didn't really know what I wanted to do here, besides look at porn, obviously. But if I'm going to take writing seriously, I want a more "authorly" name to put on my work.

So that I won't be claiming to be a writer without having written anything, I've been working on a few short stories to post on my new accounts right away. My writing is mostly furry, mostly erotica, and mostly gay, so if that's your thing, make sure to check it out once I put it up. I'll be plugging the ever-loving shit out of it when I do. I'd love to get the stories I'm working on finished and my new accounts up by the 20th, but it will definitely be done by February 22nd, the second anniversary of this account.

This doesn't mean I'm quitting music; if anything, music is even more important to me, and finding other furries who dig what I dig has been one of the coolest things. I'll post my new music on the new page as well as my writing, although I may avoid associating my furry name with stuff my normie band does from here on.

Oh, I also resolve to finally get my ass out to a con or two.

My friend who drums in my band saw Twin Peaks a couple weeks ago in Richmond. I would've gone, but I was busy studying for finals and working, and couldn't get a ride to Richmond and back anyway. He says it was a kick-ass show, which I already knew. And he got hugged by Clay.

I left an event about atheism early to go to an anti-Trump protest, where I ran into a bunch of my queer friends. I am Everything That's Wrong With The World, according to old, white, Christian men. Feels good.

After the racist Cheeto got elected, my high school painted a big thingy on the wall in solidarity with all the various types of people the incoming administration is threatening. Several teachers and students posted pictures of it on Facebook, and somehow Lady Fucking Gaga found it and Instagrammed it.

I restrung my acoustic with heavier strings (14-59s) in a quest for more hand strength, and to hopefully fix some fret buzz it had been getting. The good news is that the fret buzz cleared right up. But, hours after changing the strings, I went out busking for a couple hours. I made thirteen bucks, but when I was done, I looked down at my hand and saw some blood splattered on my right thumb. Turns out I'd somehow peeled a full centimeter of skin off of my right ring finger while playing. My best guess as to what happened is that I'd been strumming a bit harder to accommodate the heavier strings, and my finger was catching the strings as well as my pick, and because it was a little cold, I'd lost enough feeling in my hand to not notice it. But fear not; with a band-aid on, I'm good as new.

My kid brother is 17 now. He's almost an adult. WTF?!?!

One of my managers threw up directly into the host's air conditioner, then hugged me and begged me to never quit, then showed everyone his dick, then ran outside and passed out in a neighbor's garden. Good job, Tristan.

So when I was in high school, I played trumpet in the school band. Our band director usually picked pretty good pieces for us, but every now and then he would make us play these "modern" experimental pieces that didn't really work. One of them, I think it was called "Paper Cut," involved, first of all, playing along to a prerecorded track of electronic noises (which pretty much doomed the song in my opinion), and second, called for the band to periodically crumple and rip up sheets of paper. This was a catastrophically stupid idea, because the paper was never loud enough (and had it been, it would've sounded dumb).

Anyway, every time we rehearsed this piece, we would dig through the recycling bins to find a shitload of paper to rip up. Usually we'd find Word documents and similar, boring stuff, but one day I pulled out a piece of paper that just had a picture of a cheetah printed on it. You know, I just couldn't bring myself to rip it up, so I kept it. I put it in my locker, and eventually I taped it up in there. I named the cheetah Lily, after the Who song.

I still have Lily; she's on the wall by my desk. And now you know a random, small fact about me.
