Is it odd that I'm excited about getting home so I can jump start on commissions? I have so many things to color when I get home. I hope to get all sketches/sketch commissions/badges done before I leave Omaha then I Just have digital ones to do.

IF YOU ARE NOT ON THIS LIST It means you have not filled out the form on my website (or I fucked up and didn't get it or something, if there is a mistake e-mail me! ( artbydevy[at]gmail.com ) . I have come up with a way to keep track of all commissions. Basically the commissioner goes to website ( www.artbydevy.weebly.com ) looks over the prices, the terms of service and so forth then they fill out the form. Once they are done and click the button it sends the form to my e-mail ( artbydevy[at]gmail.com ) I put a specific label based on the type of commission (flat, shading, sketch etc) and then stick it in a specific folder associated with the type of commission. It keeps all information in the specific folder so I can look back see all contact info, all, references everything in that nice little spot. I can't keep track of notes, e-mails and forms so the easiest way for me to get things done as quickly as i can is for all commissioners to fill out the form.

Commissions will close soon as classes start in August and well I simply can't allow anything to distract me from school. My muse for art tends to sink during that period of time.

I am coming up with something different in regards to traditional badges that I can sell at MFF in April. I have four traditional badges I still need to finish six digital icons/badges, and two commissions! So I am super busy but I've been coming up with something to add to the badges that I do to make them interesting. I made a new badge of my fursona with the idea and it turned out pretty good. Now I want to do another, but I don't really want to put work into a badge that won't be enjoyed so this is where you come in!

The badges use traditional media, colored pencils, fineliners, gel pens, markers etc, after the art is done I laminate the badge. What will make these badges different is that the design of the badge includes strands of beads in some fashion, from color coated beads that match the colors of a character, to pewter/metal pendant shapes that can represent a person and their fursona in some fashion. I can attach key rings to smaller badges, or they can have a dream catcher feel to them. Its really an idea I want to play with and challenge myself in being able to create a bead design around a character, every character receives their own personal bead badge design.

I want to do a bead badge for someone since I have the beads out and I've been playing with them (can't do digital art right now, I am in Omaha, NE currently visiting my mom.)

Because of all the work and materials I will be putting into the badge I'd really like to mail it to the person and that is how my art can become worthwhile, simply by being enjoyed. So if you're a person who is very big on not giving out your address in fear I might spend a ton of money I don't have and come and try to harm you then DO NOT request, I understand why you'd be leery but I want the badge to be used and worn, taken to a con and enjoyed, I will put a lot of work into it to try and build up my technique and create a final result that can be enjoyed. the mailing of the badge will not cost you anything, this is a request. So I've done one, currently working on the second from the first journal. The first one I did, for my very first traditional badge turned out pretty good, in my opinion. You can see it in my gallery but the scanner killed it something awful =(

Here are some conditions in regards to these two badges:

1. This is again first come first serve
2. If you are listed to receive/have received any free art from me recently you cannot request again
3. The image may end up a headshot, a body shot, a chibi as I'm going to try to practice different things, different styles etc. You may request any of the three but I make no promises.
4. If you end up receiving a badge from me I'd really like to know if you are capable of allowing me to mail it to you. I'd be willing to send it to you for no charge (depending on your country, these details can be worked out via note) I bring this up because truly the traditional badges should be enjoyed in person. The scanner really kills the images and they just don't look good. This doesn't exactly mean that you won't do a badge for you as I can use any badges I make as examples at conventions.


I will be finishing the currently one I am doing and a digital request before I start on these.

Post a response to this journal including a reference and a 'yes/no I'd like to receive my badge in the mail' include your country if you're comfortable doing so.

I just got some card stock today and I want to give a go that some traditional media. POST A RESPONSE TO THIS JOURNAL. This is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. I will send the badges to you if you want them. All this free requests is in practice/preparing for MFF in November so I actually feel confident about selling my art there. I also just like doing art for people to make them happy. Though I might have to take commissions at some point for spending money at the con, not sure yet.
