Posted 13 years agoI'm getting there slowly but surely. Past months been a bit of a challenge for me mostly emotionally, it's felt it was going up and down like a roller coaster. Decided it was best to seek some help and feel its paying off. Just to be able to talk to somebody about work stresses and what's been going on and feel that weight off my chest made me feel much better.
Still feel bit under the weather like but I feel more in control of it. I feel my outlook on things are much clearer, not getting those anxiety attacks in the morning or late at night.
Looking forward to next year hoping to do a bit of travel for myself.

Posted 13 years agoDdraglais has finished packing up and moved out this evening. Little teary eyed at the moment. Still I wish him well in Dallas and I'll know he'll be much more happier there with friends. Best wishes and lots of love for you Carl.
Commission Policy
Posted 13 years agoI love art I have such a great time commissioning it, the fun of getting to know and become really good friends to artists I've worked with over the years in the fandom. But after several bad experiences with a few artists I wanted to commission and paid up front for in good faith then turn around and getting the run around treatment. I'm going to start a commission policy. This will only effect new artists I personally commission. Artists and friends I've worked with over the years and for joint commissions where I'm just a contributor, or those that have been vouched for by my friends it wouldn't apply.

Things you NEED to be aware of before you accept my commission:
-I ONLY use PayPal.
-I will not prepay until you are ready to start the project.
-There is a 44 day suspense deadline on this project from date of payment.
-If you need additional time to complete, I will give another 20days to the deadline.
-Projects that require more time will only be paid in installments, as work is done. This will be discussed and agreed upon prior to any payments being issued.
-I need you to communicate with me. Inform me of things like setbacks, issues/etc. with a note, page shout, or email. Journal posts are too easily missed.
Additional items of interest:
ALL publicly displayed copies of the image "must" contain the characters names ON the actual image. You may place these names as a copyright statement if you so choose. If provided the hi-res private version does not need this. I retain rights to post artwork on galleries I manage with a link back to the original posting. You retain the copyrights to the image, not to the character(s).
If multiple characters are in the image, each character owner may upload to their own galleries. If you sell the image, or include it in a portfolio, you as the artist are responsible for contacting the other characters in the image for permission. Just a warning for all ya'll going to get a college loan

Reading this story really made my blood boil because basically it nearly happened to me. Back in 2005 I was eager to start mortuary school and I went to Fannie Mae to take out the a federal school loan. The loan amount I was looking for was enough to cover 3 months rent and pay tuition and for books came to 17K not to bad for getting a AAS degree in Funeral Directing and Embalming. I was told by the Sallie Mae loan officer that the loan was going to have a interest rate at 6% and it wouldn't be due until I graduated and I could get it differed for a year if I wanted to till I had a job and was able to repay it.
Fast forward to about 6 months before graduating there was a class I was expected to take that the state required you to take if you had a federal student loan. I found it odd that I wasn't on the list and went to the financial aid director and asked why. She pulled my file and 20 minutes later told me my loan wasn't a federal loan but a private loan which was the first red flag. I called Sallie Mae and after almost 2 hours 3 dropped calls later I finally got a hold of someone and they assured me everything was ok interest rate was the same don't worry you can pay when schools out.
Three months before graduating I get a letter saying I was 90 days over on my student loan and I owed over 300 dollars after that each month I had a bill for 250 adding the 650 I paid for rent and car payment of 280 plus food I had built up over 1000 in debt before I even graduated. After I got a job back in Longview I immediately went into protecting my credit and canceled my cards and consolidated the debit so I could get a handle on repaying the school loan. After 6 months of paying double the min. payment and asking them to apply most of it to the principle I find that I barely made a dent in the amount and the 17k loan crept up to 20k then finally after 2yrs at 22k and finding the interest rate was at 19% and most what I was paying over just covered the interest and "future interest". Thankfully my grandparents where able to help me pay the loan off in full even though they slapped me with an penalty for paying off the loan early and I still after 7 years haven't received a 300 over payment.
So I will warn ya'll read the fine print be blunt and ask that you want just a federal school loan, don't get suckered in by all the sweet talk take someone with you and ask for hard copies of everything. If they say you can't have that then walk away.

New Apartment

ddraglaisdragon finished moving into our new place. Much enjoy the location its only a few blocks from where I work and walking distance form Ddraglais's work. Moving in wasn't too bad furniture wise we both didn't have alot of stuff still need to see about procuring a dining room table and chairs as well as a patio set.

The movie follows the exceptionally troubled production of Kingdom of the Sun, which was later renamed to The Emperor's New Groove.
With Styler behind the camera, the crew had unprecedented access to Disney creators, executives, artists, writers, and of course Sting, who is probably the most disturbed by the last minute calls and complete overhauls foisted by the top brass upon this movie. The documentary made its way online last night. "

Posted 13 years agoJust about gotten everything I need for the new apartment. Though I'll know by the end of the week what I'll still be missing. Feeling bad for my hubby Ddraglais hes come down with a case of strep throat and I feel lonesome without him. Looking at the weather and hoping its not going to be rainy and all.

Posted 13 years agoGah this has been one hell of a week. First off just a short con report of furry fiesta was I had a great time. Enjoyed time with friends and looking forward to next year. Things I didn't like was mainly due to my job. This will be the last time I swap weekends with a coworker. Not only was I bitched out to no avail by the owner for swapping weekends (I had reminded him 3 times I was doing this) but I'm now having to pay for the coworkers over time. Which I feel is complete bullshit. I'd of burned a paid vacation week then deal with this bs again.
Aaagh well aside from that everything is well, decided to turn down a job offer in fort worth. The idea of getting paid over 10k less in a city where the cost of living is already high and working off the clock, living up at the funeral home on call is not what I want. Being told I could possibly do 30hrs in one day then be expected to work through the next two days with out a break is not much of an incentive. But I still will keep an eye out for a job elsewhere.
But in the mean time I'll be moving out at the end of the month into a new apartment. Looking now to find some furniture for the living room and kitchen along with kitchen supplies and such also got to find a washer and dryer. But it'll finally give me and my hubby ddraglais a place of our own.

Posted 14 years agoWell this sucks not having a phone. Last Friday my iPhone decided to go out. Luckily its still covered under warranty. So for those that are trying to get a hold of me I'm not ignoring you just will be out of pocket for a few days till apple sends me a replacement. Overall everything is going well hoping to get Christmas shopping over tomorrow but thankful I'll be having the weekend off. Wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas

Posted 14 years agoAfter counting the weekends when I'm off and the weekends I work. I'm not going to be able to make it to Texas Furry Fiesta from Feburary 25-27 since it'll fall on a weekend I work. Ddraglais though will still be able to go.

Posted 14 years agoIf you've been checking my twitter feed most of y'all will know I'm not doing so hot lately. This flu or stomach bug has landed me in the ER once due to dehydration and has kept me out of work pretty much all week long. It all started last Sunday when I started getting chills and a low grade fever with nausea and no appetite. I decided to take Monday off and thinking it was just a cold it'll wear off with rest. I went back to work Tuesday and for most of the morning I flat pretty good even ate a small lunch. But around three a big bout of nausea hit and really felt like the room was spinning. I took off early and went to the outpaient clinic and before I could get inside I was headingnto the restroom throwing up. After a check the doc thought I might have a appendicitis but I needed to go to the ER for a cat scan to rule it out. After several hours waiting in the ER the Docs said my appendix looks normal and it's probably caused by this flu like bug going around with the hot weather and dehydration. I took two days off and tried coming back to work Friday but after lunch didn't sit with me well again I'm staying home till I get over this crud. Im planning on going to see my regular doctor Monday if this hadn't cleared up.

Posted 14 years agoGuess it should be time I start using this Journal thingie a bit more.
So whats been going on, not much but still busy at work at the funeral home ;p. Family is doing pretty well parents are in the process of finding a piece of property to build a home and workshop so dad can close the store front at the pool store and we can put the rent money to better uses. Once my parents get themselves a place they asked if me and Ddraglais could take over the house we're at now.
Got a bit spooked about a month ago when my hubby Ddraglais got bitten pretty badly by a friends dog. I wasn't there and it happened very late that night and didn't find out till it was I was at work and he tweeted a pic of it. I expected to see a small nick on the hand not nearly having your throat ripped out. I was quite emotional over it but kept it held back till I was off the clock. Ddraglais got around 19 stitches for it and it has healed up very well though it did live a nasty looking scar just below his jaw.
I've also dragged Ddraglais into the gym with me. After meeting with a trainer he'd suggested we start hitting the gym at least 5 times a week doing upper body one day, lower body the next and carido the third. So I'm quite excited to have a workout buddy and get our sexy back.
I'm not planning on going to Ac this year and Fc is on thin ice. But me and Ddraglais are taking the 4th of July off to go and visit friends up in Boise as well as our Dallas buds come the end of July.
So whats been going on, not much but still busy at work at the funeral home ;p. Family is doing pretty well parents are in the process of finding a piece of property to build a home and workshop so dad can close the store front at the pool store and we can put the rent money to better uses. Once my parents get themselves a place they asked if me and Ddraglais could take over the house we're at now.
Got a bit spooked about a month ago when my hubby Ddraglais got bitten pretty badly by a friends dog. I wasn't there and it happened very late that night and didn't find out till it was I was at work and he tweeted a pic of it. I expected to see a small nick on the hand not nearly having your throat ripped out. I was quite emotional over it but kept it held back till I was off the clock.
