Restarting the old girl
Posted 4 years agoWelp, here I am back again. Its been a few years and I think I'm ready to give it another go. A good old-fashioned art dump to showcase some of my activity while I was on other venues.
I never really left, but its probably high time I keep a place for this bounty of artwork that I've gotten as time has rolled onward.
Now then, let's get started.

On the subject of my commissions and when they are reposted
Posted 9 years agoI've been ruminating on how to address this issue for the better part of a week now and address it in a tactful and mindful manner. I will start first by stating openly to those who watch me, and those who watch my commissions whether through my channel or the artists I commission: I do not mind if you repost the images I commission; but if and when you do I want to ask that a grace period be observed between the initial posting in my gallery and when you place it up onto an image board of any kind.
The reason for this is quite simple. One of my recent commissions was posted to E621 mere hours (or even minutes) after it was finished and listed in the commissioned artist's initial gallery posting, but it was not in my possession until far later into the day. I feel that this is not only patently unfair to me, but also to my watchers who generally refer to my page for things like commissions and updates-- and I would much rather have them view my newest commissioned artwork here or on the commissioned artist's page first rather than on an image site like Lulz.net, Fchan, or E621.
This, again, does not mean that I mind you posting my commissions in other places in eventuality, but I would like it if you'd give them a week or so worth of time on my page at the very least before doing such.
That is all.

Bokbok video game meme
Posted 10 years agoStolen from
Avalonanders and again from
Gothkat21, this will help answer some things about my preferences for games and the such.
I'm not too sure what a mostly dedicated retrogamer can do here, but here goes!
1.You started to play videogames at the age of...?
5, which was a looooong time ago.
2. First game you ever played?
Circus Atari for Atari 2600.
3. First console you owned?
Sega Genesis, some smuggled Sega Master system games from my cousins too.
4. Consoles you own/owned?
Since I never threw away or got rid of my consoles, and I collect them, I currently own:
-1977 Bally Astrocade (original) with peripherals, games and developer test carts.
-Atari 2600 (1980 four-switch model)
-Vectrex
-Sega SG-1000
-NES
-First-Model Sega Genesis/CD Combo with no TMSS and the original Yamaha 2612 Synthesizer
-Second-Model Sega Genesis/CD combo with 32x Peripheral
-Sega Nomad portable Genesis (VERY useful)
-First-Model Sega Saturn (Round Button)
-Neo-Geo CD
-Sega Dreamcast
-PC
5. Your favorite genre(s)?
Tyrian/UN-Squadron style Shoot ‘Em Up, Turn-based Isometric RPG, Action RPG, various classic and vintage arcade titles.
6. Favorite game character(s)?
Classic Sonic, Mai Shiranui (King of Fighters), Harold/Bob (Fallout), Jean (Lunar II: Eternal Blue), Dora the Centaur (Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder Arcade)
7. Which element(s) in games is/are most important for you (story, graphic etc.)?
Story & Gameplay, graphics are an evolving treadmill and for certain games the older graphic sets have aged quite well and in fact look better without overworked HD remakes. Keep it simple, make it work, make it fun.
8. You don't care about ...?
Modern consoles, brown games, overbearing graphical requirements (unless it’s Star Citizen, you splurge on that mofo, and you splurge on it good).
9. Prefer PC or Console?
I prefer the original consoles for retro gaming, but for anything modern I prefer PC. Consoles are going that way anyway as it stands and they haven’t done (in my opinion) enough in the current generation to differentiate themselves from PC gaming.
10. Your current 3 Fav games?
Fallout: New Vegas, Diablo 3, Sonic CD (1993)
11. 3 Games you didn't like...
It’s very rare I find games I don’t like or care for, but anything broken or unplayable due to glitches or lack of polish.
12. One game that's totally overrated in your opinion?
COD, numerous MMOs or MOBAs.
13. Ever played an online game, if yes which one(s)?
Diablo 2, 3, Starcraft: Brood War
14. What do you think about ...Tomb Raider?
The originals: ‘Dem tits.. also very fun.
The new ones: Pretty good, Lara looks a lot more believable now and the storytelling is superb. I should play these ones more often.
15. ...Tetris?
Inevitable death march, try Nyet III if you want a meaner game of Tetris that will probably make you tear your hair out.
16. ...Sonic?
Classic Sonic was awesome, following Sonic Adventure 2.. What the hell Sega?
17. ...Spyro?
Played some occasionally, but not a whole lot.
18. ...The Sims?
It was a fun game, I have yet to play the newer titles but I’m sure they’re pretty fun too. :D
19. ...Legend of Zelda?
I logged so many hours on Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask and Link To The Past that it’s not even funny.
20. ... Assassin's Creed?
Pretty good, but not my favorite series.
21. GAME OVER!!!
FFFFFFFffff.. –Resists the urge to throw the 20+ year old controller, goes back to the title screen, bitches for a good 15 minutes about the game cheating, enters a long password (where she can, no saves on an old Atari) and resumes where she left off.-
22. Game(s) you'd love to see?
A good Ecco The Dolphin, Earthworm Jim, or perhaps even an ancient 80’s arcade title revival would be a good way to garner new perspective in a largely oversaturated game market. Read the story synopsis for Wizard of Wor or Berzerk for example, give them a late 70’s, early 80’s sci-fi feel with a Triple-A budget. It’d be awesome, I think, but the industry would probably think I was insane. ~3~
23. Game(s) you're waiting for at the moment?
Fallout 4
24. Consoles you plan to get in the future.
6-Switch Atari 2600, Pioneer Laseractive, Colecovision, Intellivision, Coleco ADAM, Commodore 64 or 128 setup to match a modern PC, no new consoles unless they decide to do things other than what a PC can for a marginally higher price.

New job and the changes that follow
Posted 10 years agoWell guys, it finally happened. I got picked up by Ford Motors as one of 40 lucky hires, and will be starting my new career next week. Though this will give me infinitely more money and ultimately more freedom to work with, at the same time it will cause me to miss out on several streams and events that I've grown accustomed to attending with you and/or limit my contact with you outside of work.
I'll do what I can to keep in touch with you guys, but this is going to be a transition and I'm going to need all your support when it's all done. Hopefully things can return to a semblance of normalcy once I settle in, but these first few months are going to be the roughest.
Just thought I'd let you all know~

KynElwynn (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6820224/) is in serious financial dire straits and could really use help. I'm doing what a good friend would do by posting this here, since I know that many of my watchers both know and respect me, and that some of you may know her personally from places like RPH and/or F-list, battle.net, etc.
I will do what I can with my limited financial means as well, but anything helps.

RIP Leonard Nimoy
Posted 10 years agoLike Christine Cavanaugh's passing close to three months ago, the news of Leonard Nimoy's passing hit very close to home. I have spent many years as a Trekkie like my mother before me. I've gotten autographed memorabilia, watched the shows (original, the movie period, TNG, Voyager, etc), attended conventions both great and small; I've got the better part of two and a half decades invested into Star Trek as a continuity and to have a cast member as iconic as Spock pass away is every bit like losing a dear, lifelong friend.
You were and shall always be our friend, Leonard. Live long and prosper.

Heckfire and will likely be stolen again by some other movie buff or bored person looking to kill time.
Forgive me padre, for I have sinned. ~3~
1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times:
Blade Runner (Original and Director's Cut), 2001: A Space Odyssey, E.T., Jaws, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Poltergeist, The Original Star Wars Trilogy, Jurassic Park, Alien, Aliens, The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Shining, Forrest Gump, The Fly (1986), Heavy Metal (1981), The Thing (1982), Moon, Spaceballs, The City of Lost Children, Brazil, Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Most of the MST3k movies, Fiddler On the Roof (1971), Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Watership Down, The Secret of NIMH, Full Metal Jacket, Goodfellas, Casino, The Godfather I & II, Reservoir Dogs, Office Space, Fight Club, etc.
2. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in a theatre:
Titanic (4), Avatar (2), and that's about it. I didn't have much disposable income when I was younger and a good number of movies kind of stopped appealing to me once the special effects (or Michael Bay explosions) took the place of good writing.
3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie:
Rick Moranis
4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie:
Rob Schneider.. -Shudder.-
5. Name a movie that you can quote from:
A short list:
Ghostbusters
Full Metal Jacket
The Godfather
Aliens
Back To The Future
Star Trek II, IV, and VI
Poltergeist
The Shining
Watership Down
Spaceballs
History of The World, Part I
The Producers
Office Space
Fight Club
6. Name a movie musical that you know all the lyrics to all the songs:
I know a few of the lyrics to the Rogers and Hammerstein classic: Oklahoma, though I know Fiddler on The Roof a bit better.
7. Name a movie musical that you have been known to sing along with:
Fiddler on The Roof and Sweeney Todd.
8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see:
A Clockwork Orange and any other number of the Stanley Kubrick classics. Also the works of Francis Ford Coppola (Apocalypse Now, The Godfather I and II, etc.) and numerous others. Literally there are too many to list that I could recommend, so see my above list of the movies I have seen for a good starting point.
9. Name an unusual movie that you own:
The City of Lost Children.
10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium:
If by "another medium" you mean another career path before switching to the acting or entertainment business, that's easy: Alan Rickman.
11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in?:
Once, but it was a very long time ago.
12. Ever made out in a movie?:
Yup, but again, it was a long time ago.
13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't gotten around to it:
The first rebooted Star Trek movie.
14. Ever walked out of a movie:
Generally I pay enough attention to know what is worth my time watching versus what isn't. Though if in fact the movie turns out to be that bad, my inner MST-ie kicks into drive and lends itself to riffing the bad movie rather than walking out of the theater.
15. Name a movie that made you cry:
Normally this doesn't happen, but the ending of Star Trek II was so sad. Poor, poor Spock. ;3;
16. Popcorn?:
Mm, popcorn. Extra butter.
17. How often do you go to the movies?:
With the steep admission charges, criminally high prices on candy and popcorn, and generally not all that much of anything good playing; not that often. Good cinema I think started to decline in the 1990's with the overemphasis on special effects and was only exacerbated further by the inclusion of CG special effects into that medium (for sci-fi films especially I absolutely hate, detest and loathe pure CG for ships and vehicles, and prefer the use of scale models, or a hybrid approach ala. LoTR). Normally I find myself having to pick through a giant metaphorical sea of mud looking for shining gems when it comes to movies now, so my reasons for going to the theater to see it there are often limited or nonentity.
18. What's the last movie you saw in the theatre?:
The Hobbit.
19. What is your favorite/preferred genre of movie?:
Science Fiction, especially of the hard variety.
20. What was the first movie you remember seeing in the theatre?:
The Jungle Book, I think as part of an anniversary release or something at the tail end of the 1980's. I went to see it with my grandfather, and we got ice cream afterward too! :D

Art slave plug for a friend
Posted 12 years agoSo my friend
Stormychang is holding an art slave auction at: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11645875/ which will be going on until the 25th; and being the super-cool friend I am, I decided to write up an advertising journal for it to pass it on to my watchers in hopes that you'll pass it on to a few people as well. Go support her guys, Gemsbutt commands it! o3o

Pretending its the 90's
Posted 12 years agoSo my computer's AC plug went kaput today, and with it my laptop's ability to charge itself. I have been forced to do without for the better part of eight hours now and boy does coming down off of an internet addiction suck.. x.x;
I just thought I'd let all you guys know where I'm at, and if you need anything to send me a note here or contact me at Iaedruus@hotmail.com. Fortunately I have a replacement on its way that should arrive Wednesday or Thursday, so thank God for small favors.
I'mma be in rough shape by the time I do get back on, that's for sure. With the way my phone gets after prolonged use and overheating, I'll be at 1994 tech levels
most of the time.. Should I go outside or something?

Frustrations. Aka: "Following in Vivian's footsteps."
Posted 12 years agoFor me, winter has always been a time of recognizable depression. Cold, dismal, gloomy, and dead. The month of January alone has about managed to reduce me to a gibbering wreck.
The main bulk of trouble started with Roleplay Haven as it was being steadily DoSed throughout the month of December until the point where now the site doesn't even function properly. I, for instance now need to mash on the reload function ten times at least to get it to load, after which it then either instantly boots me, logs on and lags, makes it so that I cannot post, or kicks me after about five or ten minutes. Sadako's atrociously bad coding made me seriously think about conceding defeat and heading to RPH's main competitor site; Roleplay Chat-- even if Davie is a known troll and the one behind the DoS attacks in the first place.
Second, things are dead-- way too dead and the boredom is driving me to tears. What happened to all the activity? Where the hell is everyone? Seriously, January first comes around and everything just dries up. No streams, no activity, nothing. Its bad enough that everything is grey and dead outside like the backdrop to the third level of hell, but the fact that there's been a significant drop in activity here has kind of stuck in my chrome..
Anyway, I digress. I'm ranting because I'm frustrated, and probably need a short break from a number of things that are at borderline addiction level as it stands. I'll spare you the remainder of my rantings.
-Le sigh.-

Friend looking for commish buddies
Posted 13 years agoMy good friend :
SmellofBurntFur: is looking for someone to be in a christmas commission with her and is holding a drawing to see who it gets to be. The winner will get to choose the character he or she wants to be in it with from her set. The artist at the moment is TBD, but it seems that she's getting ready to go all-out on this and that it will definitely be one of considerable talent.
Show her lots of love guize, also be sure to bring refs, and honor her rules and boundaries, or I will find you. o3o

Hell week. Also 100+ watchers now, w00t!
Posted 13 years agoSo the last couple weeks have been rough for me due to my menial labor job. Just waiting on Thanksgiving now as an end to the horror that has been since the month started due to election night, and has since culminated in what will be going out for Black Friday (I work for a newspaper's mailroom, so we go where the retail does).
Anyway, I also just wanted to thank all my watchers for your continued patronage, I'll be sure to send some more wonderful arts your way in the very near future. Everyone likes art, right? Right.

Art dump completed.
Posted 13 years agoWaaah! Finally I got that thing done, and without too much of any problems. I vow to never fall that behind again with posting up all this excellent art that I've had commished. So without further ado, please, browse my gallery, fave, watch, and enjoy the artings that I've provided for you.
So many watches. ;A;
Posted 13 years agoTo the twenty or so new watchers, and to all my old ones as well: You guys rock so hard that its unbelievable and thank you so much for watching, for favoriting, and for all your support. Now let's get back to 'dem arts.
Holy jeezus
Posted 13 years agoSo apparently I'm now starting to get the hang of this place, posted one pic by the ever talented Ajna of my character, and the views and watches and favorites are just rolling right on in. Just, wow. I really should have looked at this publicity thing earlier.
I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all of you, and to keep tuning in for additional posts. I'll be sure to keep you all updated on all things Ade and other upcoming characters in the very near future.

Cleaning house
Posted 13 years agoI took a look at this place again, page with contents all strewn about and all disheveled and decided that if I was going to use it then goddamnit I'm at least going to make it look presentable. So I did-- so far so good with getting myself back onto the ball, I graduated from school recently so at least one side of the whole cider-press of that and a regular job is gone, and I've run out of excuses for putting it off further.
So, without ado I'm going to start cleaning house and doing things right rather than use this page as a glorified crash pad, no time like the present.
