Short Break - December
General | Posted a year agoHappy holidays, everyone.
This is just a post to let our followers know we'll be taking a short break this December, from drawing.
Between work hours, irritating M.S. nerve pains, wrist issues from our humble desk set-up, bloodwork tests for some health checks, general persistent feelings of not wanting to exist, one of our best friends going to the hospital for Serotonin Syndrome, cleaning away black mold in apartment's air ducts, paying off towards one of our partner's car loans, along with an unfairly long to-do list, we'll be taking a break from artwork until the start of early January. Does it help that there was a car accident? No, not especially.
Mythos will have to defend against an unwarranted traffic ticket in court, after someone hit us. In short, other driver gunned her acceleration at a four-way intersection. There won't be a hired lawyer, so the evidence will be on his shoulders to present. Not looking forward to that, but also feeling somewhat confident enough about things. Fingers and toes all crossed for good luck.
Anyway, there's your very condensed too-long-didn't-read life update. Thank you for reading, folks.
Take care, stay out of trouble, and enjoy any of the upcoming celebrations y'all happen to do! ✨

[Gamer Voice] Skill Issue
General | Posted a year agoSo. News flash.
Head empty, no thoughts. Smooth brain. [whispers] Doesn't even know...... A B Cs.
I kept asking myself:
"Why does it seem like I'm scratching my tablet screen?"
"Ya'know, something about my pen's pressure feels very off?"
"Why does my linework keep stuttering? This isn't very streamlined?"
"Did my tablet pen always not glide across like this? Huh, I guess so?"
"Man, the inking process seriously feels like it's taking longer?"
"Where smooth? Why no smooth? What is? Where be?"
Generally, "Whomst?"
Guess what!
A friend of mine last night reminded me that something, does in fact, exist. Want to know what?
Nipples. Apparently, I just needed to swap out my Huion's pen nib. For years. You heard that right, I haven't swapped out my pen's tip since this tablet was purchased. Yep, never occurred to me to check. That's it, that's the moral of my journal, just pen nibs. Here's your nightly reminder to change out your nipples. You're welcome. :U

Opening Holiday Requests (Free)!
General | Posted a year agoHeeyyooo,
I'd like to open two / 2 free gift slots for anyone reading this. These will most likely be holiday themes, hence the journal's title. Feel free to pick between Halloween themed, Yule or Christmas, New Years, etc.
The artwork I'll send will be somewhere between cleaned up sketches, to lightly colored linework. Example can be seen here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58639386/
General Rules:
▪ Feel free to comment up to three / 3 reference examples of any of your characters
▪ Any species is welcomed, the only thing I still struggle with drawing are human faces
▪ No asking for backgrounds or anything with detailed coloration; it's time consuming
▪ Let me know which holiday you'd like represented, between October to December
▪ You can invite your friends to drop their links in this journal, doesn't have to follow me
▪ Both slots will be going to separate people; no one should expect to win two slots
▪ The final product will be run through Nightshade or Glaze to discourage AI feeding
In short, I'll be picking the two character references I'm the most excited to draw. This'll be a great excuse for me to cram more drawing practice time in. Turn around time is anywhere between late November to early December, in-between my other projects.
Go wild, folks!

you ever wanna yell
General | Posted a year agoaaaaaaAAAAAAHHHHHhhhhHH 😰
what in the world is going on???¿¿?? this month in October is supposed to be fun time of the year
we stocked up on non-perishable groceries to wait out incoming hurricanes and anticipating that dock workers strike (seems to thankfully be done now)
second work place keeps trying to schedule on Saturdays for some random reason even though that's a core day for job number one, or travel events just get fully canceled out of nowhere
two of my good friends are in the middle of money related life emergencies, at first it was one and it was help-able but then that turned into two people, so that's got us in the red too
theeeennn this morning our partner's car got side slammed at speed by a running deer, so now there's hundreds of dollars of repairs going to that
but the other household car is probably in need of some important maintenance fixes that we really can't get to looking at until December-ish maybe
we can't afford to go to any therapy sessions at all until next month in November with all of this flying around suddenly
might search for a third job somewhere or do some gig work on the side through apps to level out our finances to a better place
what in the wide world is happening, universe please slow down this is too many things at once

Follow-Up; Health
General | Posted a year agoDoing what I can to quit nicotine. I've already cold-turkey-ed off from smoking twice in my life. I know I probably can do it again. (Some uncomfortable text details are included below.)
Problem is, I'm not the most..... Motivated to stay in good health these days? As in, my desire to be alive in general just isn't the strongest and hasn't been so for years. I don't always know what or who I'm staying alive for, if that makes sense. But.
Still, I don't exactly want congestive heart failure either. Last night, I was seated on an outside patio chair. Barely, slightly leaned forward. Couldn't stand up. I tried to stand up from that chair again, and again, and again. Immediate, lancing stab sensations right in my chest. Pains wouldn't abate until I downed aspirin, three doses worth. (I never travel without an extensive medical kit.)
If anyone else reading this has also faced addiction, you have my tired sympathies. Anyway, this marks day one without carrying my vape around everywhere, like some sort of a sadness-security-blanket-delusional-mobile-inanimate-best friend-false-sense-of-control-baby-bottle. Yup.

Health - Short Post
General | Posted a year agoHey there,
For those who know about this already:
As of tonight, my prominent heart attack symptoms are back again. This'll be a very vague warning to people, not including details.
I had one a couple of years ago. Visited the hospital over it at the time. As someone who's immuno-compromized, I tend to avoid hospital environments for as long as I can. If I go there, it means matters are relatively spooky.
I'm safe right now. Won't respond to new messages for several days, to a week. Uh. Anyway, yeah. Thanks for reading.

Weather
General | Posted a year agoThere's so much upheaval happening around the globe. It's plastered all over my social media feed. I wish we could physically go be a part of the rescue efforts.
To everyone in the United States who's been ravaged by hurricanes and flooding, you're in our thoughts. To the individuals and families, to the destroyed buildings people once called their homes, to the civilians banning together to save each other from disaster, to the good samaritans who rented private helicopters to help evacuate the stranded. To the outraged and begging crowds gathered in front of grocery stores with no electricity that opted to let their food rot inside, rather than open their doors to feed their communities.
There are more storm surges on the way. Be as safe as you can out there. To who it applies, may you be able to get ahold of your loved ones.

Welcome
General | Posted a year agoWell. Uploading my favorite past artwork up onto this new FurAffinity account.
In short, we've been locked out of our old e-mail account due to a password hiccup. I suppose that's what tends to happen when you have a poor memory, then never learn your lesson when you continue to not write down important information you'll need in the future. I'm hoping we're able to get access to it again, but for now this is where we're at.
Anyway,
Welcome to our page!
