and I just wanted to get that depressing journal off my page.
So poast here and I'll:
1. Tell you something I'll learn about you by looking at your FA page for 13 seconds.
2. Tell you which color you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you. Damn I'm bad at memories with people. Don't expect much.
4.
5. Ask you something I've always wondered about you,
6. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
7. Give you a weird nickname
8.
9. Challenge you to post this on your journal.

New Hampshire Is Now My Favorite State (Photos)
Posted 16 years agoHey all, back from awesome camping trip in the White Mountains of NH. Even though it was only a day, I loved it. It was the perfect weekend, too - the fall colors were at my absolute favorite stage.
So I got some photos with my phone's camera. Some of them are kinda crappy. If there was any sky in the picture AT ALL, it managed to blow out while making everything else look black. Not to mention that most of the time everything was overcast and grey. Not the best lighting. Extracting any semblance of color was like brain surgery, so bear with me. Anyway.
We stopped in the small town of Littleton and walked around. It was a pretty nice place. We walked around and checked out some shops, but we were really there for only one: Chutter's. World's longest candy counter. Oh yes. I am eating some delicious fudge from there as I type this, actually. Awesome, amazing place.
We drove through a lot of NH. One of my favorite stops was a little pull-off near a river that was on the road to Mt. Washington. We ate lunch there and I was pretty taken aback with all the general amazingness. There was a small bridge there that made for very cool pictures. After that we continued down the road to Mt. Washington to check out the Cog Railway station. The Cog Railway is basically a train that just goes straight up the mountain. They had a museum and everything and it was neat. I wanted to buy a cog at their gift shop but there weren't any. :c
After those and a few more stops that day, we finally headed towards the campsite. The rain was on and off (mostly on) the whole day, so the site did not have many people at it. We got a rather excellent spot (photo taken the next morning). Setting up the tent and tarp in the rain was an adventure, and as a reward for it we had amazing warm snuggles. <3 The plan was to wait out the rain so we could cook a neat-sounding chicken recipe on the dutch oven we brought, but the rain never did let up. We ended up just snacking on some granola bars and snuggling and sleeping. The sound of the rain on the tent was very calming.
The morning of the next day held no rain for us, which was welcome. Michael got up before me and started a fire. We had a bit of fun keeping it alive via copious amount of lighter fluid, and then packed up everything to go home. Before we left, we took a small walk to a flowing river that we could hear from our site. Apparently, in New Hampshire, you can walk a maximum of 1/10th of a mile in any direction and find a spot that should be in National Geographic. For breakfast, we stopped at a restaurant that Michael had been to before, called the Water Wheel Restaurant. If anyone's ever up in NH near Jefferson/Gorham, this place is amazing for breakfast.
Anyway, the drive back was a little nicer because it wasn't rainy and we could actually see things. We pulled off at a bunch of scenic places just because. We also got a few photos of Mt. Washington and the Mt. Washington Hotel. The whole state seemed to be just one giant beautiful forest.
We did a lot of other things, but I don't want to bore anyone. I do wish we had more time, but I'm glad it was so good in the small time we did have.
Also, warm tent snuggles to ward off chilly night air? The best.

Posted 16 years agoGoing camping with the boyfriend in New Hampshire, yaaaay
So that's where I'll be if anyone wonders. Not that anyone will wonder.

So, uh
Posted 16 years agoSome of you (none of you) might have noticed I've been offline for a bit, and I'm here to tell you why:
Basically, two roommates and I moved to a new house. In 24 hours. I ache. The reason was to get away from our other roommate, who we've all had issues that have been increasingly difficult to keep contained. She's...well, she's probably insane. And ohoho, could I tell some stories. Yesterday and the day before that was the most "interesting" period of time I can recall in my recent history, from being passive-aggressively threatened with a shotgun to being screamed at to moving everything we have (furniture included) on around two hours of sleep to being threatened again while moving out by some very poetic (read: probably illiterate) goons that were rallied by said insane roommate to police intervention to losing keys. Of course there was more, but I'll save that for anyone who's interested. I wish my boyfriend could have been there to help keep me strong. :<
tl;dr: insanity.
So, I'm pretty much leeching off campus internet right now, and we should be getting internet service in the new house by Friday. I'll probably be able to check comments tomorrow when I'm on campus again. Got the power turned on yesterday, gas coming thursday. Speaking of the new house, we're finally out of our oldawesome ghetto neighborhood and are now located somewhere that I actually feel comfortable taking a walk. It's a pretty amazing neighborhood by comparison.
Also you have no idea how excited I am to finally have a refrigerator and freezer that I'll be able to keep in order. Seriously. It's amazing.
Anyway, right now I just want to get organized and put all the drama behind me. I'd be content with never having communication with this former roommate (or her friends) again. Hopefully, we'll be finally able to obtain what we've all wanted for a few years - peace.
