General | Posted 4 years agoAbout My Commission Waitlist
General | Posted 4 years agoSO!
Where to begin, I built up a small waitlist or just a list of people interested in commissioning me for art and I had hoped that 2021 would be the year to do that,
that did not happen, at all. 2021 sucked, a lot, for a lot of reasons. Mostly because work sucked up so much of my creative energy having to basically be in a
never ending loop of solving problems day in and day out, and making sure the pharmacy could run, on basically no staff.
For those of you who have no effing clue what I am talking about, I work as a pharmacy tech, and if you want to know more about what that entails feel free to ask,
but let's just say that 2021 was not fun with a 2 other tech quitting, and not being able to find new hires.
ANYWAY..... My hope is to start getting through that list of people, and I think the easiest thing is going to be reaching out to those people I have on my list
and asking if they are still interested and if they are get the details so that I can just kind of keep rolling from one project to the next or have other things
to work on while waiting on replies.
And on my List I have something like 10 people, so oof, that will be a lot but I have found so long as I am making progress I can make the coloring stage happen faster
once sketches are done, and sometimes waiting for replies takes time so I hope I can skip back and forth on that stage a little bit. Things will be slower, through those stages,
but if I can at least get those done, then I can whip out colors with relative ease.

Happy New Year and....Life Updates/Plans
General | Posted 4 years agoFirst order of business, Happy New Year, we have all made it around the sun another year, hopefully 2022 will be better than the entire void that 2021 ended up being.
Second: If you heard about the fires in CO, I am fine, though I was only about 30 minutes away from where the fires started and only about 15 minutes away from the areas that were evacuated.
Thankfully once the winds died out Thursday night, the fires started going out and by Friday morning it had stopped spreading,
and all that was left, was to put out the last small areas that were still burning. If you did not know about this news, you have now been informed.
Third: So, those who know me more personally know that I don't usually post about my life publicly and generally just like to talk to it about my closer friends.
Some of you may know that in 2021 I posted a mere single piece of art, which greatly disappointed myself and likely those I put onto a commission waitlist.
I did commission more art this year though, and that is because my job, working in a retail pharmacy, pretty much consumed all of my mental and physical energy.
I did manage to sort of get back on tract with that, and I am not sure exactly how I will progress through the list whether it is get all the ideas at once and work on each one as I have the energy,
Or if I want to just try and knock them out a few at a time as people are willing to have me work on them. I know I am a little slow, so I don't take payment upfront,
usually only once the sketch is done and I am ready to start the coloring phase of it. I don't do commission work for income per say, so I try to be very relaxed about the process.
But damn this year really kicked my butt. Retail pharmacy has been really hard with trying to do vaccines on top of all the regular pharmacy work that still needs to be done.
I am not going to really go more into detail about that. Just take away that I do plan to do all the commissions for people I put on a waitlist,
I am also going to try and space a few personal projects in as well, just to maintain my sanity. But I have a few pieces ready to color,
and with how I have been going a bit slower I have been taking my time to also learn more as I go and hopefully that will show in the works when they get completed.
Fourth?: Just going to put a general thank you here, truly, even with the lack of real art from me, I have still had people starting to watch me,
and I cannot thank you all enough, hopefully I can make 2k watches this year...and I am going to consider if I want to make a Twitter?
Maybe, don't know, I have my reservations about Twitter. So if I do make a Twitter, Don't expect me to follow you just because you are a friend. I am going to really limit it so that it doesn't consume my life.
And I think that is all, tried to keep it brief.

General | Posted 4 years agoJust wishing all my watchers a good and safe Christmas and Holidays this year for whatever holiday you happy to celebrate.
I know I haven't posted a lot here in terms of my own art, and I am sorry for that, but working in the pharmacy takes it toll, I am making my way through some art just very slowly.
Anyway, I will give a more year end update come New Year's Eve/Day! For now, enjoy your day and stay sane and safe.

The really long and short of it is, HIPAA only applies to "Cover Entities," which are health care providers, insurers, and medical billing companies.
And it only keeps them from disclosing your information without your consent to third parties and other entities. And some information can be disclosed so long as it doesn't provide any personal identifying information.
It does NOT protect companies or entities from requesting your information from you personally. You can disclose as much or as little information as you want.
But you have had to disclose your health records to plenty of entities before, such as to attend any public school, and sometimes to even get a job.
If you have taken a drug test, you have disclosed some portion of medical information to your employer or whoever else required.
By opting to not voluntarily give over this information, private entities can and will bar your from participation.

There are likely to be more videos released by other Youtuber's over the next few days I will either update this like journal or I will make new journals for those daily videos. I don't plan to do this for ever single day for the next two months, but as a cetacean within the furry community, this fundraiser definitely means a lot!

Another COVID Video - It's Okay to Be Smart
General | Posted 4 years agohttps://youtu.be/8d8qrDCOnCA
I am going to try and break down the points into little bullets for those who wants a sort of cliff notes version.
1. The COVID vaccine will not guarantee that someone will not get an infection, no vaccine ever has. Flu shots each year have 4 different strains and depending how they were predicted they will have different levels of effectiveness. We also have means today of detecting even just a few piece of viral make up, making our testing so sensitive that you can test positive without actually having an active infection, and sometimes the remnant particles are enough too.
2. The Base Rate Fallacy is what people are falling victim to now, as the number of vaccinations goes up, it will only be natural to see the number of COVID cases in the vaccinated group go up. They use an American Football analogy to illustrate, but in short you have 10 people playing X sport and 5 wear safety gear and 5 do not in the first year. In that year 1 person with the safety gear gets injured and 3 of the people not wearing gear get injured. But second year, everyone wears safety gear and only 2 people get injured. So more people with safety gear got injured, but fewer people total got injured. And this is an easy statistical fallacy to fall into.
3. Natural immunity can sometimes be stronger, but your immune system makes very specific antibodies, so there is no way of knowing if it will protect you from future outbreaks. If you did have COVID, getting the vaccine will increase your overall immunity. Also trying for natural immunity is a risky game, you can't be immune if you are dead. And some people are having months long quality of life health issues, some are even going to have life long health complications going forward.
4. Variants - It is not a matter of if variant will occur, but when they will occur. Each virus makes billions of copies inside your body and almost all of them will have some sort of genetic error, so much so that there will likely be at least 1 of each type of possible mutation. The problem is the longer the virus is allowed to spread and replicate, the rare chance a dangerous combination of mutations will occur drastically increases. It's like winning the lottery, your individual odds are extremely small, but when you have enough people playing, someone will win, and winning in this case, could mean higher infection rates from this virus. So getting as many people vaccinated as best as possible is not only important for your health, but for everyone's health and YOUR future health by helping ensure that it is not given an opportunity to change.
5. Boosters - I think this video was made before Pfizer announced that it's Booster would be open to the people who feel they are in high risk conditions for exposure to the virus, and Moderna has given the okay for Boosters for those who are immuno-compromised. Right now it is just the same vaccine being given again, because Pfizer was showing decreased levels of antibody presence in cases of those who were vaccinated and in the hospital at about 80% were Moderna's was still showing higher levels of antibody presence. Now immunity is complicated, but effectively as time goes on, the memory immune cells slowly decreases the longer you are not exposed to a virus or bacterium. They give you are card to another video that explains it more in detail. But it is why you have a Tetanus booster about every 5 to 10 years.
Now some people are asking, if we are going to be stuck with this, they ask, what is the point of all the masks and social distancing and other disruptions, and the points are basically this:
-It will prevent more people from dying from this disease, because right now about 1 in 500 people in the US of died from COVID.
-It would give us a chance to better understand the disease and find better ways of dealing with it.
-It would give hospitals the opportunity to treat critically ill patients that are not COVID related. (This one, especially, because I have been told a story about about a person's relative going in for an appendicitis, which was triaged as not critical until it became absolutely critical once it burst. What should have been an easy procedure and a a few days in the hospital, became weeks.)
-More importantly it means that we will potentially have a shorter time of having to deal with this as a pandemic. The longer people go without getting vaccines, or following the rules, the longer it will take to get through the pandemic and the more people who will die as a result and the ripple effect consequences that will have on the rest of society.

What Are You So Afraid Of? | Self-Help - Knowing Better
General | Posted 4 years agohttps://youtu.be/gENRqiaS8xM
This is a long one and there is not really a good cliff notes version....but I will at least try to mention what is covered.
-It is definitely a video about psychology of Self Help and how cults kind of play a role in these sort of Life Coach jobs, which don't actually require much education in the way of psychology or psychiatry. So many of these life coaches can't help in all the aspects that would likely want them unlike credentialed counselors and psychiatrists who have degrees and more education in those fields.
-He does also talk how a particular set of sex cults fit into this sort of weird economy of Self Help culture, but also how people spin it as "anyone could fall for this" when he discusses that no, not anyone could fall into this trap, because only so many people are willing to put up with varying levels of requirements, like moving half way across the country or being required to call someone Master and do their every bidding, or hell even be branded.
So I would recommend giving it a watch.

Your DNA is already in a database - Veratasium
General | Posted 4 years agohttps://youtu.be/KT18KJouHWg
I would recommend watching the whole video; they discuss everything from how partial matches that already exist in databases and working their way up a family tree and then back down to find criminals for violent crimes to the privacy concerns about in regards to what it might be used for and where the pitfalls are and where some of the better possibilities are when it comes to being able to solve crimes past, present, and future.
The one biggest concern that they have is if and how insurance companies might use this knowledge as a means of discrimination, if it becomes a thing, but at the moment it is all opt-in versus opt-out, and the information will only be given out to law enforcement in the cases of homicide, sexual assault, child abduction, and one or two other instances.
Genetics is truly amazing technology!

General | Posted 4 years agohttps://youtu.be/RIwrsveZOQM
The video discusses the efficacy of mask wearing with results from a randomized control trial - the literal gold standard for medical based studies.
For all the people griping about wearing masks, here is your research paper and the results of it; IT WORKS! And surgical masks were the most effective at limiting the spread of the virus.
And yes the host is an actual pediatrician and professor of pediatrics at Indiana University of Medicine. So he has plenty of qualifications to discuss and explain the basics of medicine with regards to understanding and explaining the research that has been done and will continue to be done when it concerns the Global Pandemic.
And frankly just by observations alone, when the mask mandate was lifted for VACCINATED individuals in the state of Colorado, where I live, the number of cases was diminishing, but with the lifted policy, the UNVACCINATED took the opportunity took the opportunity to also not where a mask and the spread of the virus went back up thus requiring the reimplementation of the mask mandate as hospitals were being overwhelmed with COVID patients again, sucking resources from others who may need hospital care when it could have easily been prevented.
One of my patients at work is also a nurse and first hand accounts from them are that of the 250 cases of COVID in her hospital 205 of them were unvaccinated and many of them are in critical care. My Mom who is also nurse working, as stated that her hospital is supposed to have a 1 to 4 nurse to patient ratio for the ICU, several months ago that was increased to 1 to 5 because of the number of nurses who were quitting from being fed up with things not getting better, now that things are getting worse again from UNVACCINATED people not wearing masks over the summer, that ratio has now been upped to 1:6. This is not safe for the nurses or the patients under their care, but nurses are quitting because things aren't getting better and they are becoming more content to just let the world burn down around then and let Darwinism take care of the rest.
So for all those who think the mandates shouldn't occur, the data proves otherwise, WEAR YOU GODDAMN MASKS, especially if you are choosing to remain unvaccinated until more data comes out, but understand that a lot of companies will let you be an intentional health risk to other patrons of that event, function, or place of business.
Also Here is a video that discusses the data on the efficacy of the vaccine against some of the newer variants with little cards showing the research papers the data is being pulled from so you can go check those papers out yourself and read them:
https://youtu.be/t4VnlXIiSeY
The short of it is, the current vaccines are showing that they are currently still fairly effective against the new variants, all of them have shown that even if you get sick with COVID you have a high reduction in having a severe cases, which often leave people with permanent lung and/or heart conditions, and so far a 100% prevention of DEATH.
The longer people go without the vaccine and the more people drag their feet, the more likely it is that the current vaccine will no longer be effective.
To back this up, my pharmacist informed me that our current Measles vaccine is having diminishing effectiveness, but because the rate of vaccination for it is still so high, that you are hardly seeing cases with the exception of recent outbreaks in communities where more people were not vaccinating their children against it, and the Measles has a spread rate of about 15-18 people where COVID is only 2-4 people depending on the data you look at.
All previous vaccine efforts should clearly illustrate why this vaccine is so important. When both Swine Flu and H1N1 were a massive concern, it was shown that people who had received that years Flu shot and previous years' vaccines were far less likely to get severe symptoms from both those very major flu strains. Again illustrating the importance and effectiveness of vaccination. Hell Small Pox was eradicated because of the huge vaccine effort that happened in the early 1900's
For those against vaccine mandates, with the number of lives already lost, the current efficacy against the more prominent variants, and the previous demonstrations of the necessity of vaccinations, what threshold is required for it become necessary when it is already a world wide, global, problem. You want to claim that it isn't worth it because all these mandates of masks are being required, well you can blame the unvaccinated people for being walking petri dishes who are not following these mandates. And the evidence shows it.
Are you really willing to risk the lives of your own family just so you can claim to have moral high ground when it could have been prevented by a simple injection that take 30 minutes of your day and may a day of feeling sick?
The long and short of it is, If you want to get through this faster, the only to the other side is to get as many vaccinated as fast as possible to give the virus now where to seek refuge. You can pull weeds all day, but if you don't kill them at the root, they will keep coming back and eventually may become resistant to your weed killer.

Are Biden's Vaccine Mandates Legal? And Story Time
General | Posted 4 years agoI am going to point this out, regardless of your opinions of the man, you can go look up all the cases he talks about it and it really is just a matter of him going over what has proceeded these mandates and how they were ruled. I am rather tired of people being stubbornly biased against listening to someone because one or two other videos they have made. People are human, people can change, people can grow, and yet the internet seems to forget this with a great deal of frequency. You know who you are also *stares at Twitter in disdain*
https://youtu.be/iyVrqtWbV3A
The Short answer is basically yes, because there were several instances in which people tried to refuse a vaccine back in the early 1900's when Small Pox was still a problem and it was determined that at the time it was necessary to prevent a potential outbreak and to prevent the potential severe injury of those around you.
And even the courts at the time ruled that no one is wholly free to do whatever they want whenever they want however they want, there will be restraints placed upon to people in order to protect the populace at large and during times of dire emergency and crisis those restraints can be made more restrictive.
All of the mandates allow for some exceptions such that if the person would be unnecessarily burdened by the requirement or it would cause significant harm or death at the time of requirement, then it can be exempted.
Also I should point out to my more conservative followers that Nixon is the one signed OSHA into existence as a way of maintaining general workplace safety and in a time of a pandemic that can be requiring a vaccine for the safety of your fellow workers. You are not allowed to take a course of action that would potentially cause severe and significant harm to another person without consequences.
Story time from work!! The TL;DR is at the bottom
So I think this is the first time I have every really talked about my job on this website or what my days are like, but I felt an incident today is worth sharing.
For those of you who do not know, I work in a pharmacy, so I get to see a lot of crazy stuff and hear a lot of crazier stuff come out of people's mouths. I should stress that there are a lot of people who believe that us scientists are censoring data because we want people to not know the truth about things, but here is the truth, if there was a miracle cure for COVID would be trying to get it into as many people's hands as possible as fast possible. Unless you are some conspiracy theorist, what reason would we have for not sharing it or wanting it to be as publicly available as possible. Where is any ounce of logic in that?
But the short of the story is that we refused to fill a patient's Ivermectin script from a telehealth doctor, and we called and told the doctor we would not be filling it because the Pharmacist who has a doctorate's in their own right and a license of their own is completely within their clinical judgment to make that sort of call. The doctor said we couldn't, it is a valid script, and as stated before, YES the pharmacist can and will refuse to fill a prescription if they feel it is unsafe for the patient to be doing so. DO NOT think your doctor has the final say on what does and not does not get filled. It is the responsibility of the Pharmacist to do their due diligence and make sure that what a patient is taking is not going to cause injury or death during the course of treatment. The pharmacist is there as the final checker before a medication gets given to a patient. Sometimes that means just getting the acknowledgement that two drugs have a severe life threatening interaction. You will see this is things like Hydroxycholorquine and Azithromycin, the "miracle cure" that mister Trump recommended and took. Yes, this treatment very well could have killed him if improperly administered and supervised. Both medications have their uses, but should almost never be given together unless you are being directly monitored by your physician or you know what signs to look for in order to seek emergency help.
I furthermore got to tell the patient directly that would not be filling her med and she said that she knew 100's of people have taken it and gotten better and we were just censoring that data. Again, if it was actual cure, why the hell would scientists and doctors cover that up? We have a vaccine which we know has a 100% efficacy at preventing DEATH! Yes, that is right, it prevents DEATH from this disease with a 100% effectiveness. And it prevents major hospitalization and long term problems by giving your body the ability to fight back even if it is limited which it seems to be much better than just limited effectiveness. It should also go without saying that just because people have taken Ivermectin and gotten better doesn't mean the Ivermectin made them better, chances are they got better on their own and if anything it just gives them a false sense of security in thinking they are treating/preventing it when they are not and they could just be spreading it around. Correlation is not causation. The other thing that pissed me off is that she asked why when Trump was president did he get all of this and get better in a day and that the paper from last November was only retracted because Trump got treated with these meds. And 1. Trump was president, so YES they are going to throw everything including the kitchen at him and hope it works even if it is against medical recommendations and 2. He actually had it a lot worse than he made it sound and it lasted more than a day AND 3. The paper was retracted for falsifying data, which is a major no-no in the science realm, it is the same reason the Autism-Vaccine paper got retracted and why that doctor lost his license on top of a lot of other things.
Also short video for showing you the inanity of thinking correlation is not causation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUti6vGctQM
TL;DR Your pharmacist has every right to deny a prescription from being filled as it is their degree and license and it is within their clinical purview to make sure that what is being filled is going to be safe and effective for the patient to take. I don't care if you are some big shot doctor, if a pharmacist says that there is no benefit and only risk to the patient, that is their job to know that about the drugs they are dispensing. That is what they went to school for to memorize as much about ALL the drugs as they can. Know you own gaps in knowledge. Just because people have taken Ivermectin and not "gotten" COVID or got over it doesn't mean it was the Ivermectin or other drug that caused it, they likely got better on their own and several studies have shown no efficacy of Ivermectin in treating or preventing COVID, so no benefit for all risk. IT IS A PARALYTIC! It also took a concentration of 1000x the standard dosing to have ANY significant decrease in viral replication. That is likely more than enough to KILL you. So yeah, you are taking a paralytic for absolutely 0 benefit to you. Use it for what it was made for, not something it is not and several paper have shown to not work. Finally Correlation is not Causation.

The short is that with how this law is worded it will basically allow any conservative states to enact and allow enforcement of just about anything that they would want private citizens to sue their neighbors over. Like a business selling cakes to queer couples as an extension of this which IIRC Florida is already trying to allow. By shifting the enforcement to private citizens but then still giving them payouts for doing so is basically an enticement for people to sue each other over frivolous things, or things that would have otherwise been protected by The Constitution.

The Research on Ivermectin and Covid -Healthcare Triage
General | Posted 4 years agoHere is a video that briefly discusses the research showing that Ivermectin is not effective in humans at treating Sars-CoV-2 in COVID-19 infections.
Also to quote the FDA Tweet from the video "You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, ya'll. Stop it."
https://youtu.be/q0jzRPZogTI
Also I should point out that there are already articles out there of people sh***ing themselves in public from taking high doses of this stuff and having "worms" coming out in their waste. Those worms are literally your intestinal lining sluffing off because of the damage the drug is doing to those cells. It PARALYZES parasites which is why it treats them so effectively and rapidly. If it is doing that to them at small doses because they are tiny ass animals, what do you think it is doing to your own cells when you take it at such absurd doses.

My two cents on the "Copycat" designs
General | Posted 4 years agoI know I am likely spinning my wheels here because I have no audience, but I am going to start with a video that I think illustrates the frivolousness of this sort thing and the problems that can arise from it.
https://youtu.be/qX7a2p5_JsM
But at the end of the video, Adam Neely brings up a quote from one of the members of Paramore which goes "[...]This shit happens a lot in creative spaces. [...] we've seen other people create things that feel similar to things that the band created ourselves. This just happens."
And while this was more of a case of deliberate inspiration, I don't think that is anyone's fault really, the design space idea is really interesting, other animals have had neon versions done of it for ages. Hell Umbreon could be considered an inspiration for a lot of neon glow critters. This feels like more that the owner of the two "OG" glow cobra's is just the first design that became popular within the furry space and thus propagated the creation of more of them. But early on it was a lot of outright stealing of the specific design combination that this owner in question created, and that is a fair reason to be mad.
But "glow cobra" as a concept has a lot of ways of iterating on it while also having very limited movement from the most popular design without it fundamentally become something else entirely.
As there are only so many chord progressions to work from, there too are only so many way to make a "glow cobra" look like a glow cobra outside of some changes to the patterns and colors picked. And honestly I feel both kind of riff on the suits from TRON Legacy, and also honestly who wouldn't Those suits were radical!

How the COVID-19 vaccines were created so quickly - TEDed
General | Posted 4 years agohttps://youtu.be/v-NEr3KCug8
The short of it is:
-It is not a standard vaccine that did not require the time intensive processes that previous vaccines use.
-they are mRNA vaccines which are the short lived molecules that tell your body how to make proteins.
-The genetic material only makes the spike proteins that would be found on the outer shell of the virus.
-mRNA vaccines are the holy grail of vaccine development and it has been in development for around 50 years.
-Being this system of vaccine administration uses a basic platform that has 1 interchangeable part, it could mean
developing better, safer, and more effective vaccines for other diseases faster than it would normally take.
