Posted 12 years agoIt is mid-2013, and I am still alive and getting back into drawing. I took a pretty long break, and during that break I didn't draw at all.
But I'm drawing again, so expect new stuff. :) Maybe not right away, I've got a short vacation coming up in the summer to visit family, BUT SOOOOON!

Posted 14 years agoI'm not quite back yet, but I will be soon... I think I needed the break.
I'll be coming back as soon as my A/C is fixed so I can draw without sweating all day long... being hot really dampens your desire to do things... you just sweat and feel icky.
When I come back, I'll start by finishing up
knottyfox's pantyshots... then I'll note the people on my waiting list and see if they still want to buy a commission... then I'll open up commissions again when those are all cleared. =)

Commission Break

I'm taking a short, short break from art
Posted 14 years agoOnly until Monday. Yesterday, my eyes started hurting REALLY BAD when I was working on my latest commission, and got to the point where I couldn't see part of the art. I put on my sunglasses to continue working on it, and that helped, but I want to rest my eyes for a little bit so that doesn't happen again.
I'm sorry about making my paid commissioners wait. =[
And FYI, it isn't like cataracts or anything. I think it was a mix of a migraine headache, which can make your eyes light sensitive, and the little bright spots I saw that blocked part of the art were the same kind of spots you get if you look at the sun straight on... you know, there's just a slight part of your vision that's obscured, but your eyes aren't really damaged. I think I've just been spending too much time on the computer lately, and my eyes are telling me that by making it hard to use the computer. xD
Oh, and after using my sunglasses for an hour or two to finish my last piece, and taking a break from the computer, my eyes seemed to be back to normal. No more weird spots obscuring my view. =) Just wanna be sure that doesn't happen again. xD

Posted 14 years agoThat's the upside! The downside is, apparently the reason the internet was out at all was because of vandalism. Someone broke into the Comcast box and unhooked our internet. The comcast guy said they usually do that, then go to your house pretending to represent comcast and ask for a fee to "hook you up" again.
Luckily, whoever did it didn't get far enough to come ask us for money, which I wouldn't have paid anyways because I'm a smart cookie and I know how scammers work. But it's still very uncool, and I'm glad the comcast guy said he put a lock on our connection so it can't happen again.
Now I'm gonna get something to eat for lunch, then answer my comments and notes, and get back to those commissions! ^_^
I hope everyone else had a slightly less annoying weekend than I did. xD

Posted 14 years agoFriday, about midafternoon, my internet decided to die. Why? I have no idea. But it's down, and I can't work on commissions until it comes back up.
We have a guy coming over tomorrow from Comcast to try and fix it, so hopefully that'll go well and I can get back to work. Otherwise, I'll let you guys know what's up and what's going to happen next.
Luckily, I have a nice friend who let me use his computer to type this. xD
Hopefully, I'll see you all tomorrow, and I apologize for the delay to my commissioners and those who may want commissions.

Posted 14 years agoBut I don't want to adhere to a "date" for starting them just yet. I'm going through a small art slump, and I want to be sure when I SAY I'm starting commissions, that I actually will have the drive to DO the commissions I get.

Something I think everyone should read and understand... as I've read it all the way through several times, and still find the disturbing realization that this is the kind of culture we live in.
If you're easily-offended, I'd suggest not clicking on the many links in the document, because they go to stories about people blaming children for their own rape/kidnapping/etc and other ruling by JUDGES that are simply the most insulting things I've ever heard...
I think there should be a class to teach this stuff to people. I wasn't aware of most of it until I read through this stuff.

Posted 15 years agoNo joke here. I bought Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, an old gamecube game, to try it out because it only cost me $11 and if in 7 days I didn't like it, I could return it for a full refund.
I've done this before with several harvest moon games because I LOVE the REALLY REALLY old one for the gameboy (which I now play on my SP since I can't play it on my DS) called Harvest Moon 3, and every other harvest moon game I've played or tried just didn't appeal to me. I either didn't like the gameplay, didn't like how the buttons were set up, or didn't like the way the graphics looked even... (I know, pretty silly reasons not to like a game, but it's "me" we're talking about. >_>)
So I thought I'd try another, just to see how badly I'd hate it, since I've hated all the others that came before it (besides that HM3 one I still play off and on). I got it, played it a little bit the first day I bought it... and initially I wasn't too fond of it. The way they do the map is annoyingly unclear, the achievements are listed but they don't tell you HOW to get the achievements, so I have to google them... minus points there... and I didn't like how 7 seconds in the real world equated to 10 minutes in the game. So 42 seconds in the real world equals an hour, and you can play from 6am until about 10pm, because if your character stays out past midnight, you get the ever joyful benefit of watching your character get tired at NOON the next day... or earlier. >:[
The thing about your character getting tired is, when they're tired, it takes more stamina to do something. And you have a finite amount of stamina. And it's extremely difficult to get your character to stay out of this "sleepy" mode for more than a few hours, wasting time finding things to wake them up and wasting stamina cuz they consume it like it ISN'T a finite resource...
ANYWAYS, the first day I didn't like it, so I didn't play it again for a day or two. Then my hubby got on my case and said I better play it more before I decided whether to keep it or not, cuz I only played for maybe 3 or 4 days in-game before quitting the first time... and so I started it up again and played.
And played.
And played.
AND PLAYED!!!!!
So, that's what I've been doing since... the 27th. Every day from 3pm to midnight when my hubby gets back from work (he's on swings for awhile, usually mids), I'm playing this game, taking quick breaks for food, any cleaning that needs to be done, and casual checking of FA and email.
WHAT THE HELL! xD
I'm addicted. =[
EDIT: Even as I wrote this, I was looking at the tv and thinking about playing the game. *cries* God have mercy on me! TT_TT

Any Role-Players Watching Me?

Posted 15 years agoIf you read my last journal, you already know that while flying home from vacation (which wasn't much of a vacation since my husband's aunt died while we were there) the airlines lost my luggage. Inside my luggage were the cords for my computer, my wii, my external hard drive, my brand new camera I got for Christmas, my GPS, as well as a whole lot of other Christmas gifts we had received while we were there. If I could have fit everything into my carry-on bags, I would have...
But in any case, the worry and the dread at having to spend over $600 to replace everything I lost (if that bag was never found) is over. This very morning, at around 9am, a Continental worker called me and informed me they had found my luggage and were sending it to my local airport on rush delivery for me. I received my luggage at 4:05pm today, and upon inspecting it, found EVERYTHING I had packed completely unharmed and accounted for.
*takes a deep breath of relief* Thank God. It had been missing since Dec 30th, and I had just begun (yesterday, in fact) to fill out the necessary paperwork to claim the bag as being lost...
I am happy. ^_^

Whoops! My vacation ended on a bad note...
Posted 15 years agoI'll update this later, because I have limited time, but on my flight back from Rhode Island my (1) flight got cancelled and I got rebooked onto another airline, (2) my connecting flight from Atlanta Georgia to Shreveport Louisiana was cancelled last minute, and I was unable to get another flight until the next day (so I actually drove it with three other passengers because we all wanted to get home asap), and (3) the airline lost my checked bag. They STILL haven't found it, and I'm going to start the insurance stuff and lost paperwork tomorrow.
EDIT: Another bad thing that happened over this holiday season, Nick's (hubby's) aunt died on MY BIRTHDAY while we were flying up there... >_> So we ended up having to go to a funeral while on Christmas vacation...

Posted 15 years agoWith the help of my fiancee and story-teller-hakiri, I've come up with a good list of jobs that can be SEXIFIED for my pinups... but I'm kinda stuck on who would look good as what profession. Bunny's was EASY, because she's dressed up as a waitress before... the others? Not so easy.

I've been lingering on the PG side of art for a long time now, and I think I've gotten to the point where I should start learning how to expand my drawing ability into the MATURE and ADULT. Posted 16 years agoI arrived safely in Louisiana late on the 8th, the day after I started driving there from Maryland. I drove 8 hours the first day and 12 the second day. It was a LONG, PAINFUL trip. But it was worth it. ^_^
Sad news is, just before leaving Maryland, my computer started giving me some probems. There are popups coming up even though I KNOW FOR DAMN SURE my browsers should be blocking that shit... and then there's this "Security Tool" fucked up shit. It takes over my computer, claiming EVERYTHING is a virus, and demands I download the "full" version of it to let it fix my computer. It won't let me open anything, or CLOSE IT... and I NEVER downloaded this piece of shit. It found its OWN way onto my computer...
I want to find out who created it, hunt them down, and castrate them slowly.
In any case, it has royally fucked up my computer and internet abilities for the moment (I am typing this on my fiancees computer). I'm going to take my computer to Best Buy or something and get the geek squad to fix it for me. Might be a little expensive, but I don't give a damn, as long as it fixes the problem. >=[
I've tried to fix the problem myself, and had semi-success with it... but the popups still show up when I'm browsing, and my internet speed is FUCKED. It takes my laptop 3 minutes to go from the FA main page to the login screen. >=O
So... until my computer is fixed... I gonna be kinda halfway internet-less. I can check my stuff maybe once or twice a day from my fiancees computer... but I'll be saving the hard work until after we finish furnishing our apartment and getting the shit-ton of boxes and packing paper out. xD

Posted 16 years agoJust a quick FYI that I'm in the middle of moving from Maryland to Louisiana. Why? I have finally finished my four years in the military and am heading down to the base where my fiancee is stationed... so we can get married... and frisky/kinky... not necessarily in that order. ;D
