1. A selection of television programs you do not care for.
Lots honestly. Regular Show, most things on ABC, NBC, CBS, or FOX, I can't be bothered to remember the names of them, but I really can't go out of my way to remember. I do not care for NCIS at all, but lots of people seem to really love it. That's all I really care to mention.
2. A selection of musical artists you do not care for.

3. A selection of celebrities you couldn't care less about.
I don't care about celebrities. I may engage in gossip about celebrities if it comes up, particularly if it's over something that might matter, but I think we give too much attention to celebrities, enough for them to get away with murder -_-
4. A hobby you “don’t get”.
I don't really understand the point of making chainmail. I see a lot of people do it, and it's fine, but it's not like you can make a mail shirt and wear it. It doesn't have a practical use. That doesn't mean I'm gonna bitch about it though.
5. A habit you find disgusting.
Eating while talking, especially while on the phone. Chew your food, swallow, and for fucks sake get the phone away from your mouth if you're gonna eat on the phone.
6. Something in school you really liked doing that everyone else bitched over.
Math >.> I didn't like math, but I did it well enough that when we had to do more I was just 'Meh, whatevs"
7. Your favorite household chore.
Taking out the trash/recycling. Just because it's quite satisfying to see a huge pile of garbage or bottles and stuff go to nothing.
8. Popular video games that make you go “meh”.
Most FPS games, though I have been giving them more of a chance lately. I just can't seem to get into Assassin's Creed though. I think it's neat, but something about it makes it very hard to stay interested.

I can't stand Basketball, mostly because of the players.

Aside from MLP:FiM, I caught flack for liking Heroes, but I've lost interest. My roommate rolled her eyes when I got into Game of Thrones, but I love it. My roommate doesn't like anything Joss Whedon, so when I've wanted to watch things like Firefly or Buffy (Though never again will I watch Buffy), I'd have to do it while she wasn't around. But Battlestar Galactica actually people gave me the most shit for.

I've put my furry interests on the backburner, so it's not something that really comes up, so I'd say the Brony stuff people poke fun at me for, which is fine. Board gaming actually, because it's hard to explain to people who aren't into the same kinds of games what exactly I enjoy.

Sweet new car, bro
Posted 13 years agoSo I've reached a milestone in my life. I've gone through the steps to get myself a brand new car. I leased a brand new 2013 Toyota Corolla, and for all intents and purposes, it is mine (Though technically, it's the dealer's, but let's not split hairs). I traded in my old car to cover the money down at signing, and while I'm sad to let it go, as it has been my car for about 8 years now and I've gone a lot of places with it, it was time for me to move onto bigger and better things. My parents are helping me just a little by getting rid of a bit of my debt, but that's all the help I'm getting from them. I'll be making the payments on this one.
I feel like such a grown-up. When did that happen? o.o;;

Stomach bugs are the worst
Posted 13 years agoI spent almost the entire day yesterday in bed because I got a 24 hour bug, or food poisoning, and just couldn't keep much down. At one point even water wanted to come back up x.x By late in the evening, I started to feel mostly better and got some soup and water down, and today I feel about 85%, enough where I could go out and do some errands and stuff (which was a bad idea for entirely different reasons). But I swear, out of all the common sorts of ailments you can get, stomach bugs are probably the worst to me. At least with a head cold or something you can still eat and drink.
Getting out of Magic: The Gathering
Posted 13 years agoI'd been more or less thinking about this for a while, since I just can't seem to find enjoyment in it anymore. I don't have unique ideas for decks anymore, and any I do devise are expensive to build and I don't have the trade stock to get what I need, and I don't have time or money to do drafts. The open-night at Pegasus has two crowds of people: Kids and people who are way too serious and way too good at the game. Just don't see myself getting much more into it at this rate. So I wanna get rid of my cards. All of my cards. Possibly even my beloved Rat deck if someone is will to pay what I want for it (Which I will determine).
What I'm wanting to sell is the massive supply of mostly commons and uncommons from most sets. I don't have a lot of the earlier sets, but I do have a sizable collection. I can't see myself asking much for it, maybe $100 or $150 on the topside, including my binder of rares (Which is lightly stocked, though there might be some gems in there). That's probably a lot to ask for a lot of commons and shit, but there's a LOT, I think. Dunno. If anybody's interested let me know. I'll consider part of the hundred as shipping if it helps, and if it's near by I may even deliver it personally, heh. :P
I have been getting into a different game anyway. I've found I like the Living Card Game (LCG) format way more than the CCG. An LCG is very similar to a CCG, both involving deck building and such, but the LCG format is not collectible. One person gets a copy of the base game and brings it to play with another person who has the base game, and they both have the same card pool to build with. There are Booster-pack esque expansions, but they all include the same cards. Yes, someone with all the add ons would likely have a greater advantage playing against someone who doesn't, but still, there's not that huge of a division. It's all about the deck building.
And the LCG I've come to love most is called Android: Netrunner. Well, that and The Lord of the Rings: LCG, but that's an awesome co-op (and often single player) game. Netrunner is just nifty. FFG brought back an older CCG that was done by Richard Garfield, made it an LCG and set it in their own cyberpunk setting. It's asymmetrical game play and that makes it really interesting. A mega corporation tries to advance its own agendas while setting up defenses to protect their assets, while the Runner tries to break into the corp's servers and steal their agendas, or die trying. It's really fun to play and I highly recommend it!
Anyway, tl;dr I'm wanting to sell my Magic cards and if anyone's interested let me know.

See, I got this Roleplaying game for my birthday, well, rather I got the Beta test for it. It uses a special kind of dice set, which the company doesn't sell yet. So instead they provided stickers you can put onto various dice you need to work for the game. Well, that's neat and all, but they won't stay on forever, and I'd like to have a set for this game, so I was wondering if there's anything you can coat stickers in to make them less likely to fall off.

Posted 13 years agoYeah I'm addicted. To the books moreso than the show. Finished off A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings in less than 2 months, which is pretty outstanding for me. Onto A Storm of Swords now. Maybe I can get caught up on Season 2 now...
Yeah, I have been reading a lot lately. I got Pokemon Conquest but it just doesn't hold my interest. I am sorry to say I don't think it's a very good game. It's so...basic. I can't get into it. So Song of Ice and Fire series is keeping me entertained :3

No AC for me
Posted 13 years agoSo, AC is no longer happening for me. It was, I had my flight all booked and everything, but then something happened with one of the airlines I was flying with where after June 1st no more flights between Milwaukee and Pittsburgh were going to be happening, and any presently booked flights were going to be cancelled. I tried calling Orbitz, who I am probably never going to book through again after this debacle, and after getting the runaround, I ended up having to cancel my flights entirely and get a refund (Which I might see in a week or two. Who the fuck knows). I checked to see how much flights are now, and they're at least $100 more expensive. So there's no way.
Fuck you Orbitz. Fuck you Frontier. The rest of my family gets to travel the fucking country this year, but I don't. Son of a fucking bitch.

Posted 13 years agoGetting kind of tired of seeing the same characters over and over from the same handful of people. I can't really criticize since I don't exactly spend my extra money and practical things, but does one really need that much furry porn of themselves? ._. I don't think I can really wrap head around it. It has been a while since I've paid for a commission, I tend to miss people who are open when I have money, but I think it would be nice for a change for some well-known and popular, hurrr, artists to maybe say no to these people once in a while, maybe reserve those slots for people who haven't gotten 300+ pics of themselves in the past 3 months.

Posted 14 years agoI'm going to sound like a complete nerd right now, but I'm so excited I finally did this. I mentioned a while ago that I absolutely fell in love with the Battlestar Galactica board game and vowed to acquire my own copy of it. Well back in January, I did, but just the base game. That's fine and all, but from my experience, if you've played a board game that incorporates more than just the base game, the base game is simply not enough. So here comes tax time, and I picked up first just the first expansion (Pegasus), and today I got the second expansion (Exodus), and I'm really happy about it, for whatever reason. And I got it in my head that "I NEED TO SLEEVE ALL MY GAMES", so a lot of my favorite games are getting sleeved...But I will not sleeve them all. That's expensive. And they become kind of a bitch to store. But this one and a few others are sleeved and stored nicely, and that also makes me oddly happy. I should probably sleeve my Lord of the Rings card game too, but god I'm scared at that prospect. It would be, oh, at least 12 packs of sleeves if I wanted to sleeve the entire thing. And at $3 a pop....Yeah, not exactly practical. And penny sleeves are garbage.
Buuuut anyway. I applied to like 5 jobs on Monday, and I plan to apply to more. I need a good place to search though. So far I've only been going off LinkedIn.

Posted 14 years agoArgh, I feel so inclined to just make my fursona permanently a snow leopard (as in, use Laguna). I feel like it fits me more than a red panda does. I haven't decided officially though, and if I did make that change YOU CAN STILL CALL ME AFFY. It's kind of hard to think about, considering I've been a red panda for almost 7 years. Just something that's been on my mind is all.
I know it's hard for some people to deal with because they see me as a red panda and only such, but I really am leaning towards snow leopard.

2011 Gaming
Posted 14 years agoBeen an interesting year for gaming. A lot of hype around some that were letdowns, and a lot of hype around games that certainly weren't. Aside from being a crappy year in general, I think at least gaming-wise things have been good. I don't wanna do a top 10 best games of 2011, because I'm not a generic game blogger, but I wanna give my picks. Then again, they're probably obvious. Because as far as video games go, my game of the year is Skyrim ^^;
But, but...Um...outside of video games, I can pick a board game, right? Sure, why not. So now I have to think. One of the best games I got to play this year that didn't necessarily come out this year was Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game. This is one of the most well designed and fun games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend any regular gaming group to get this game, even if you aren't familiar with the show. It's brilliant.
But as for new this year, that's a tough call. Gears of War: The Board Game, while seemingly just a cheezey franchise cash-in, is actually another well thought out and fantastic, albeit FUCKING HARD game. I would be interested to see what else they can put out as far as expansions go, because the main game is great, but could use more player options.
Elder Sign was another fun game based on the Arkham Horror franchise. The errata thankfully cleared up some of the issues it had, and overall will make the game more balanced.
The Lord of the Rings card game is great, but I'm lacking in people willing to play it because it's a non-collectible card game. As in, you make a deck with the cards included in the game, kind of like a CCG, but it's non-collectible, so there's no booster packs (There are adventure packs, but they all include the same stuff). It's also limited to 2 players, but I have all the adventure packs, so maybe I could add another? I dunno. It's worth checking out. I think any game that you can solo-play is a great game. Forever Alone jokes aside...
So I guess I think as far as board games go, it's gotta be a tossup between BSG and LotR. For me. And it's a REALLY hard pick, to be fair. There are a lot of fantastic board games and card games out there.

Breaking Point
Posted 14 years agoI don't need to tell you how much I hate my main job. It's not exactly a secret. But today, I reached my breaking point. If I don't step it up and find a better paying job than Captel (and Target combined, really), then this job is going to kill me, one way or the other. I had a call today that was so bad I felt I would be better off dead than to be on it. Yeah. That's the point I've reached.
I don't want a lot of messages asking if I'm okay. I'm fine now. I left after that call was done. I didn't do anything that would get me fired, so that's fine. But the stress of the job has tweaked my sanity a bit, and I don't think it's going to be doing me any good to be there anymore. I haven't put my 2 weeks in, and I won't be quitting until I get another job for sure, but this is it. It's time, now more than ever.
Gonna be multitasking at board gaming today updating my resume I think. There's light at the end of this hell of a tunnel, but being there really makes me lose sight of that. I know other jobs are a lot worse than this, but in the end it doesn't make a damn bit of difference to me if I think being at Captel is going to be the end of me. There's a company out there that needs me, and it sure as hell isn't Captel.
Do not worry about me too much though. Now that I've come to this point, I don't think there's a chance of me doing anything I will regret anymore. My days at Captel are soon to be numbered, and that will be for the better.

Posted 14 years agoSo glad I didn't work this morning so I could go out and get some stuff. And really, I realized something. There's no fucking point of going out to do shopping any earlier than the store would normally open. I walked to where I went to do my shopping, since I live like a 5 minute walk from Best Buy and the mall, and the crowds were not only manageable, it wasn't really that busy at all. And the best part was, all the doorbuster stuff I might've been interested in getting at midnight, when all the stores opened, were STILL THERE. I got a new pair of jeans for the early bird price from Kohl's, a game from Best Buy that was still at the doorbuster price, and got something from Barnes & Nobles just because it was there. The ONLY thing I got up early for, was the pajama sale at Pegasus Games so I could get some stuff I was looking for at 25% off, which is a great deal. Now I have a bunch of things I wanted and I didn't have to wait through the cold windy night to get them. I got to sleep in my nice warm bed.
Also, Skyrim is amazing. But fuck bears. Seriously. Fuck bears.
Skyward Sword is awesome as well, but I won't talk about it since I don't wanna spoil things for people who have yet to play.
One more thing: If ANYONE was thinking of getting me something for christmas and they don't have any ideas, packs of Magic cards is something I'll always accept. That is ONLY if you HAVE to get me something. I'm not going to be saying to people "Where's your present for me?". I'm not that much of an ass :P

I'm pretty much planning on it, but will be ready if something comes up to cancel my plans. I don't have much more to say on that. It was kinda something I wasn't planning on, but then an opportunity presented itself and I jumped on it. So yeah...Sorry?
