Life Update (and other things)
Posted 3 years agoSo recently I switched over to being on demand at my day job. Essentially that means I’m no longer being scheduled but I’ll still be able to pick up shifts if I really need the money.
I’m probably one of the few weirdos who actually doesn’t mind retail work but I was getting just so burnt out. After some of the other jobs I've had I told myself that I don’t want to live my life to just make money, if it’s too soul crushing or exhausting I don’t want that to be my life just because the pay is decent. And right now I’m lucky enough to be in a spot where I have enough saved to step away from retail and focus on what I really want to do for a career: Art.
This is kind of a leap of faith and I don’t know if it’ll work out at all but it’s a risk I’m prepared to make, and I’m not jumping without a net to catch me. I’ve thought about this for a long time and determined I wasn’t happy with how I was living my life.
I have so much I want to do creatively and there’s never going to be enough hours in the day already and I was tired of wasting my time and energy in a job I had no plans of going further in. I’m also finally medicated properly for both depression and ADHD so now I can actually focus on things (better anyway).
What this means for you

I’m wanting to get back to all my comics I’ve been neglecting and I’ll finally have the time and energy to do that.
I can also spend more time focusing on the species that I own/run (Datagrims and Spectrels) so that means more designs, more events, more activity from me in general.
I’ll be finishing up commissions and trades people have been waiting on faster. I really didn’t mean for them to take this long to all get done and I am extremely grateful to everyone for their patience.
What this means for me
I’ll have to be more active about monetizing my work. This doesn’t mean everything’s suddenly going behind a paywall, but I’ll be dusting off my Patreon and fixing up my ko-fi and advertising commissions and adopts more.
I’ll also be creating more merch that will be available primarily on my Etsy but if there’s other places I end up selling on I will let you know.
Your support is always appreciated but never feel bad if you can’t afford to support me monetarily. There’s plenty of ways to support me that are completely free; just viewing, liking/favoriting, commenting on, and sharing my work is incredibly helpful and also means a lot to me!

Commissions Update
Posted 4 years agoI'm still working on the commissions ordered last month. I'm sorry for the wait. Working retail during the holidays has been very exhausting (and I've gotten sick for like the 3rd time in a row somehow) so I haven't had as much time to work on them as I'd like. But I will get them done, and hopefully soon. Just letting you all know that I didn't forget them!
Feb Raffle Update
Posted 4 years agoThere's no art raffle this month, sorry.
February really kicked my ass for some reason and I don't want to start a new raffle before finishing the prizes for the previous one. Raffles will start again in March!

Commissions Update
Posted 5 years agoSo I closed commissions in December and was planning on opening commissions back up in January but after thinking about it some more I think I'm going to kinda keep them mostly closed for a bit for my own sake. I do still have a lot of projects backed up that I'd like to focus on as much as I can. So for now and into the foreseeable future I'm going to only take one comm at a time. If you're interested in being put on a waiting list then please DM me or reply to this post. Comms and waiting list spots will be first come first serve. If it gets to your spot on the wait list and you currently don't have the money you can ask to be skipped and I'll come back to you later.
New tablet/computer [Commissions Open]
Posted 5 years agoSo uh, some not so great news. My current computer tablet keeps crashing and won't really charge. So I'm pretty sure this is the end for it for real.
Good news is I do have a backup tablet and my desktop computer so I can still work, it's just not a screen tablet so it's going to make things a lot slower for me for now. And I did manage to get my art files off of it onto an external so that's not lost at least. But I'd like to get a new screen tablet and they're not cheap.
So to save up for a new one I'm going to offer $5 off sketch, flat, and chibi commissions and $10 off shaded and portrait commissions for the foreseeable future.
Since it's not any kind of emergency don't feel bad if you can't afford to commission me or anything. Donations are greatly appreciated but commissions are preferred considering it's not an urgent matter.

Car repairs are heckin expensive
Posted 6 years ago
Update: Someone just straight up donated the $1,500 that I need and I'm still reeling that's just too kind. So I guess nevermind then? I still have commissions open and stuff regardless but wow I'm just kinda speechless I guess haha
So there's been some minor problems with my car and it was being looked at today and turns out there's a lot that needs to be fixed before it gets worse and the estimated total is looking to be upwards of $1,500+
So that's cool.
I don't want to alarm anyone or make anyone think this is an emergency, I do have enough in savings for it but that's... a massive chunk of my savings that I was holding on to to use for finally moving out.
If anyone's interested in buying an adopt or a commission I'd be very grateful. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to give me anything especially if any of you are struggling financially, please keep your money if you need it.

You can also donate to my Ko-fi or Paypal if you'd like but I'd rather do commissions, I want you to get something for your money
If you send me $5-$15 through ko-fi or paypal I'll do a little sketch for you (more money means more time spent on it), just be sure to put what you want drawn in the notes/message section or I'll assume it was meant just as a donation
I also have adopts open

New here
Posted 10 years agoHey so I'm still pretty new to this site and still figuring out how things work on here but so far so good I guess. Hopefully I'll be posting more things but I'm kind of bad about that even on my more established accounts on other sites so sorry about that.
