A little housekeeping - and MFF!
General | Posted 10 years agoSo… yes, things have been busy for me! Lots of writing, publishing, writing, more writing… and artwork! I have some new original pieces that will be ready to post soon—they'll go up here along with my weasyl and on twitter.
DID YOU KNOW THAT…?
*I will be at MFF in a couple weeks (I will: Friday-Monday)
*My work will be in the art show!
*I will be on a couple writing panels on Friday evening
*I will also be doing a READING of MY WORK on Friday night (!!!!)
*I'll be doing an interview with
ino89777 about Telephone and the Dutch Angeldragons
*
attacktachyon will be there—you'll be sure to find him at the DAD meet right after Telephone's interview.
*All these events can be tracked at the Midwest Furfets sched: http://sched.furfest.org/speaker/AgentElrond
*I would LOVE to see you there!
…NOW YOU KNOW.
In other news California is doing its darndest to have an actual winter. It's adorable. Yesterday there was actual frost on the ground. It's been raining and I am freezing my butt off in this house with shitty heat retention and I could not be more happy.

Full details are over here. Note: You do NOT need to be a member of Weasyl to order a badge, that's just where the info is!
Full Badge examples:
https://www.weasyl.com/submission/7.....s-from-ac-2014
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10685181/
Four slots total—if it says OPEN in the journal title then there are spots available!
Hit me up!
EDIT: 3/4 slots filled!

Post-AC Report and Plans for the Future…
General | Posted 10 years agoIt's up and you can read it over on my Weasyl account, right here:
https://www.weasyl.com/journal/9023.....ac-2015-report
You can also check the status of my take-home orders on my Weasyl main page.
Speaking of which, and this is somewhat awkward timing considering I just got a handful of new watchers, but I'm going to be shifting my activity almost exclusively to Weasyl for the foreseeable future.
Oh no, what happened? I hear you ask.
Well, actually, nothing. I mean, LIFE happened. LIFE has gotten so busy I really can't afford the time to keep two furry profiles active and up-to-date. And of the two, I find I like Weasyl's UI better. In the past FA has kept me around since all my friends are here, but since most of you are also on Weasyl, and since FA has grown quiet for me lately, I find myself less drawn more and more to Weasyl, with its markdowns and instant previews and lack of annoying banner ads (yes I can get adblock but it's the principle that matters!).
So is this account dead?
Not at all. I will likely continue to post art here when I get the chance, but journals and commission info will no longer updated, and I'll just nuke submissions and journals without reading them. (I will, however, continue to read/reply to notes and comments.)
But I don't have/don't want to get a Weasyl account!
That's fine! You can follow me on twitter—I post art there as well, not just silly noddles about my life.
As always, I wish you the best! I hope you continue to enjoy my art, and if you're ever moved to leave a comment know that I will read it and cherish it.
Cheers,
Rondie

Hey new watchers!
General | Posted 10 years agoSo I know I haven't been super-active here for the last few months, but with AC approaching I've gotten some new things posted and hola there are new people watching me.
HI!
I'm not sure how you found me or why you decided to stick around (maybe leave a comment, let me know?), but thanks! And welcome! I'm going to be at AC this coming week/end, manning table B 19 in the den during the day, and suiting as
attacktachyon at night. I'd love to meet you either way!
I'll have prints and originals at my table—and BOOKS! Yes I write books, and I will have them for sale! (Mostly general sci-fi/fantasy, but there's some anthro characters in them.) And of course I'll be taking commissions (both at-con and take-home). I'm doing these cool little paintings where I turn your character into a viking, in honor of the theme of the con (Viking Invasion). Should be fun! Also, gonna have some neat stuff in the art show (Nebula, Gildenvern and more!)
More AC info is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6840856/
Hope everyone's well, and if you're not going to AC—well, maybe I'll see you at MFF this winter?
Cheers!

AC 2015 Info!
General | Posted 10 years agoBecause everyone loves a meme, right?
Where are you staying?
Dealer Central (AKA the Courtyard)
What day are you getting there?
Bugnugget early on Wednesday, so I can see some of Pittsburgh before the con consumes me.
How are you traveling?
AEROPLANE
Who will you be rooming with?
My bestest ladies
nyomi
rinthedragon and the fabulous
shiramina
Who will you be hanging with during the convention?
Got so many folks I want to catch up with, I'd break the journal trying to name them all. So, probably different people depending on the time/day.
How is the best way to find you?
Dealer's Room, Friday-Sunday, at Table B 19! After hours, look for this fuzzy beast:
attacktachyon
Are there any panels you might be attending?
Entirely depends on how the stones fall. Obviously must catch 2's show, plus the Charity Show. I will TRY to sneak away from the den on Saturday afternoon so that Tachyon can go to the Dutch Angel Dragons meet—and maybe crash
hali's show too. But no promises.
What do you look like?
Angry, racially-ambiguous, vaguely feminine person with shaved sides. Often accompanied by a little red dragon. Badge says AGENT ELROND.
Will you be suiting?
Expect to see Tachyon roaming the halls at night!
Do you do free art?
Only under very special circumstances. No I won't tell you what they are.
Do you do trades?
Not usually.
Do you do badges?
Heck yes. Come to my table. B 19. I will fix you up!
If you have an Artist's Table, what will you be selling?
Yep! Table B19. You can get custom badges, sketchbooks, and character onsies. Plus prints and some of my books! I'll have a couple new Odds and a few proofs of the latest Apsis.
What is your gender?
Category V Kaiju. She/her pronouns plox.
How tall are you?
About 5'7"
Can I talk to you?
You can always talk to me, bulldog.
Can I touch you?
If you dare.
Can I visit your room?
I'm actually gonna have to say no on this, just cause it's not just MY room and my roomies value their peace and quiet.
Can I buy you drinks?
A single malt, neat, please. Bonus if it's Lagavulin, Tomatin, Glengoyne or Ardbeg. Or Irish.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Try asking again in-person. I am always fine for greeting-hugs.
Are you nice?
Such an awful thing, really, to say someone is nice. (I try.)
Will you be going to parties?
Um… I'm going to AnthroCon. That whole thing is a party.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
"Hello, I would like to order a commission/purchase a print/buy a book from you!" "Hey Rondie!" also works.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
SUNDAY EVENING. DINNER CON. MEET IN WESTIN LOBBY AT 7 CHECK YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
If your hands are clean and I'm there to supervise. You'll understand when you see this thing.
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Strictly invite-only, but I do have a guest page I'd love for you to doodle on!
Can I take your picture?
Pictures always fine; advance warning is appreciated.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
MAKE LOTS OF ART. Hang out with friends. Actually eat at the Ten Penny Grill. Tachyon all over the place. Survive.
SEE YOU THERE!

Hello, and thanks for all the watches!
General | Posted 10 years agoUsually I try to visit everyone who gives me a watch to leave them a thank you note, but I've been absent so long they've really piled up—so I'll have to leave one of those lame, blanket thank-yous here…
THANK YOU KINDLY FOR THE WATCH I HOPE YOU LIKE MY STUFF AND SORRY FOR THE ABSENCE.
However, with AC coming up expect to see more activity from me! I'll be there, you can be sure, manning table B 19 in the dealer's room, between
nyomi and
floppybelly near
alectorfencer and a few columns over from Sandy Schreiber, Diana Stein, Heather Brutton,
darknatasha and Ursula Vernon. Seriously, that corner is just supercharged with art amazingness this year. Like wow.
Hope to see you there!
ALSO!
Did you know I write science fiction? Yes! And right now, you can get some of my eBooks for FREE! Here's how:

HAVE FUN AND STAY REASONABLY SAFE!

What's up, mah fuzzies?
General | Posted 11 years agoBack from FC. Had a great time hosting
nyomi and showing her my dinky little town and all its quirks. Getting back into the swing of arting and writing and publishing and so forth. Got some new art to share, and I think this is a pertinent time to remind folks that I'm on Weasyl, and that I update there a day or so before FA. So if you want to see my latest piece, you can see her here:
https://www.weasyl.com/submission/861531
And of course my twitter handle is Agent_Elrond—which is probably where I am most active.
Looking at a looooong break before my next con, which will be the Big One: AnthroCon this July! Looking forward to seeing my extended furry family there, and also to doing lots of artwork for you guys.
Until then, commissions will probably remain half-closed, while I knuckle down on book projects and work for art shows in the second half of the year. But if you have an idea for a picture, don't hesitate to contact me! Only go through my official site: http://www.goldeenogawa.com/contact instead of sending me a note here, as that could go unread for days!
As always you can keep up with the writing and publishing side of my work by following my human twitter: GrimbyTweets, and keeping an eye on my company's site: http://www.heliopauseweb.com
Best wishes and safe travels and use your powers for good!

Head's up! FC!
General | Posted 11 years agoContrary to what the activity on this account might lead you to believe, I am indeed alive, and you can see for yourself just how alive I am if you go to Further Confusion next week! To aid you in finding proof of my condition, here is a handy meme/chart/thing!
Hotel: Main (Marriott)
Arrival/Departure: Gonna be in attendance from Thursday morning to Sunday night!
Means of transportation: Driving to Mountain View, parking at my aunt's house, then taking the train to San Jose (I HATE dealing with parking in downtown).
Sharing a room with:
nyomi and
arofatamahn
Who do you hang out with? Anyone I like!
Gender: Category V Kaiju
She/her/hers pronouns tho kthx
Relationship Status: Happily married to my work. We are monogomish tho, so it doesn't hurt to ask!
How old are you? Twenty-seven
How tall are you? 5'7"
Are you an Artist? (I like how Artist is capitalized here.) Why yes, I am an Artist!
Do you have an artist table? Absolutely not! :D But I will have art in the Art Show.
Do you take commissions? Not currently open for commissions, and can't take any on site. You can, however, bid on my art in the Art Show.
Do you do trades? Not generally. Like, once in a blue moon it happens, but it's rare. I have been known to make surprise gift arts for people I find cool. You can, however, trade in some of your money for some of my art in the (wait for it) Art Show[b].
[b]Do you have art in the art show? I am SO glad you asked! Yes, yes I will! The originals for Riding and the Wolf, Mother Chaos, Escape from the Celestial Palace, Ligno, and Ferro (in progress) will be on display and available for sale! Bidding on my stuff in art shows is the cheapest way to get an original off me, since minimum bids start low enough, even with some bidding wars, it's still less than if you commissioned it off me. So… GO FORTH AND BID! (Did I mention the pictures come matted and ready to display?)
Are you a Fursuiter? *screams internally* FUCKING YES. FUCK YES FINALLY. I will be dancing around as
attacktachyon and tearing up the parade and generally being a giant doof. Possibly collecting for charity. If you ever wanted to hug an Angel Dragon NOW IS YOUR CHANCE.
Attending parties? Maaaybe. Depends on if there are any parties worth going to!
Do you drink? Water? All the damn time. Alcohol? In strict moderation!
Can I buy you a drink? IF YOU DARE… my booze of choice is expensive-ass single malt scotch, neat. (I like Lagavulin, Tomatin, Glengoyne, Laphroaig, and Highland Park, but any single malt will do.)
Do you smoke? Hell naw. But if you slip outside for one I'll keep you company if I can stand up wind.
Are you attending any panels? Nothing planned, but probably will!
How do I identify my self to you? Stating your name and holding up your badge is a good start!
Rules of engagement (physical contact)? Out of suit? I'm an easy case: no triggers or physical liabilities. Hugs are a-okay and I return them as they are given (i.e. only squeeze as hard as you wish to be squeezed). High fives, hand shakes, fist bumps, even surprise tackles, I can deal. Ask before kissing or groping, however, and be ready for a negative answer.
AS TACHYON: General fursuit etiquette applies: present yourself to me and wait for confirmation that I see you before approaching. No surprise tackles or grabbing the antlers. Innocent hugs and petting are fine and welcome, but Tachyon has a sensitive nose and prefers people not to pet it (fellow fursuit boops are fine, though).
How can I find you? Look for the woman in badass boots with the little red dragon and fabulous shirts. Also, can follow my activity via twitter: Agent_Elrond
Can I talk to you? At this con? Always. Unless I'm, like, on the toilet or something.
Can I give you lots of money? Please no. Give it to the hard working artists in the dealer's den. Or to the nice people in the Art Show in exchange for some of my art!
Can I hug or snuggle with you? The answer to this depends entirely on a case by case basis, and may change at a moment's notice. Feel free to ask, though: I won't punch you for asking.
Can I hang out with you? Yes, actually. This is the con for hanging out with Das Rondchen. However, I can be a bit of a con butterfly, so if I flutter off please don't be sad or offended. Often I want to catch up with so many people that I usually spend only a little time with each of them.
Can I take your picture? Generally yes, but please ask first! It will make your picture better, I promise. Same goes for in suit!
How do I know if you're not looking to socialize (angry, busy or upset)? You will not see me. Basically, if I'm out and about in the con space I am open to socialization. However, if you see something like this swaggering down the hall, get out of its way.
What's your goal for the con this year? Relax, have fun, suit around! Hopefully sell some art! Gonna try to make it out to Japantown to visit some cool shops. Also want to take Moth to Psycho Donuts and Phillz!
Any questions?
Yeah… WHO AM I GONNA SEE THERE?

Are you a Fursuiter? *screams internally* FUCKING YES. FUCK YES FINALLY. I will be dancing around as
attacktachyon and tearing up the parade and generally being a giant doof. Possibly collecting for charity. If you ever wanted to hug an Angel Dragon NOW IS YOUR CHANCE.Attending parties?
Post-Con Double-Whammy
General | Posted 11 years agoHeeeeey guys!
Yes, I am safely home from my epic European Trip! It was very epic and very awesome! If you are waiting on a commission from me, rest assured I will be working on it as soon as I am able!
But first, a fair warning:
I am extremely tired.
Still.
I mean really I flew back to the States last Tuesday and while the jet lag sorted itself out all right (I got back with the Pacific Time day/night schedule within a day), on Saturday I found I was able to do two things: 1) read a book. 2) nap. I'm still having to take naps during the day, even on a full night's sleep!
I'm not sick or anything. It's just my body, after being pushed hard for over three weeks straight, is clearly calling in all the debts its owed. So gotta take care of that. Body wants, body gets, or body doesn't let brain and hands do things like making art and feeding the dog.
But in brief: Eurofurence was a blast. I had a wonderful time thanks to
rinthedragon and her lovely Dutch friends. Also got to get better acquainted with a bunch of other cool folks—Coco and Ray and Sirana and Giza and Pegla and Kyell and Alector and Kiffy (he knows who he is)—and for some reason I kept running into Ursula Vernon. Which was fine. *flails* (I know I'm not tagging them properly—I think you all watch me and I can't be bothered to look up your FA handles THAT'S HOW TIRED I AM.)
Had a blast suiting as
attacktachyon and spare-changing folks to benefit the con's charity (Stiftung Fledermaus) and of course… you know… SEEING BERLIN AND ALL (thanks Ray for being my touring companion and sharing your maned wolf stories! Good luck with your studies and keep being awesome!)
One fun thing to come of this trip: I have developed a taste for whiskey. Specifically peaty, smoky, single malt Scotch. So far I've sampled Lagavulin, Glengoyne, Glenfiddich, Laphraoig, and Talisker and I can say I prefer them all to Dalwhinney or whatever it's called. I think Lagavulin is my favorite, unless I want to taste Liquid Christmas in which case Glengoyne. The upshot of all of this is that my aunt gave me her bottle of Laphraoig so now I will have something to put in my 2 the Ranting Gryphon shot glass. *grins*
There's more, but it's half past eight now and I can feel my body shutting down. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have caught up on sleep and will be able to post more art/stories for you.
Everyone take care!

Heading over the pond…
General | Posted 11 years ago…for WorldCon (LonCon3) and Eurofurence! More details on my website: http://www.goldeenogawa.com/plans-f.....aphelion-1357/
For those of you at WorldCon: I'll be on a few programme items (search for Goldeen Ogawa), and
attacktachyon will be making a special appearance on Saturday night to assist some Brit Furs + Kyell Gold with their panel on the Furry Fandom.
For those of you at EF: I'll be in the main hotel with
rinthedragon, partying it up all weekend! Mein Deutsch ist schlecht but if any Deutchefurs want to come talk at me in German that would be awesome—I am trying to become at least conversationally fluent! Tachyon will be in attendance as well, and I MAY have some pieces in the art show (currently on the waiting list).
If you want to keep totally up to date you can follow me on twitter: Agent_Erlond — though for LonCon I'll probably be tweeting mostly through my human account: GrimbyTweets.
Take care all!

General | Posted 11 years agoHey all! Back from AC. It was a blast. Full report coming soon. But first! I've been doing my accounts and it looks like I finally have the money to purchase the rest of the fabric for my Hyacinth suit! So I go onto DF and…
and they are out of Cookie Monster Blue Sparkle! Nooooooooooo! I'd been warned about furs disappearing never to be seen again, and advised to just buy all the fur I could need ASAP… but I didn't have the funds after buying the fur for Spix (Hyacinth's little sister, whom I am making first). Now I do… and they don't have the sparkle fur in the color I need. :<
They do have the sparkle electric shag in a blue that looks promising (it needs to match their regular 2" pile royal blue as close as possible) and I've ordered swatches for comparison, but it's much shorter than the other sparkle fur and that was kinda what I needed—so I thought I'd try throwing this out there—since I know some fursuiters watch me.
If you have or know someone who might have some DF Sparkle Fur in Cookie Monster Blue that they'd be willing to sell me, I'd be very grateful! I only need one yard of it (provided there are no holes in the cloth from previous cuttings). You can send me a note or email me directly at gorondie[at]gmail[dot]com.
Even if you can't help, a signal boost would be appreciated!
Stay sexy y'all!

The Elk Dragon is out of the Bag
General | Posted 11 years agoSeeing as I've already announced it on twitter, I might as well make it official here too:
I am the player/performer/owner of
attacktachyon, designed and built by
skyprofursuits. :> I adopted him back in December and won the bidding to have
ino89777 make him into a custom fullsuit for me. He was delivered at AC on Wednesday, but I've been keeping mum about it until I could surprise a friend with him.
Well, that has been accomplished, and I can't keep quiet about it anymore. Go check out his dedicated page:
attacktachyon if you're interested in seeing pics of him! I have been having SO MUCH FUN. ALL THE FUN. IT IS GREAT. Ino did an amazing job and the suit is major top-quality solid awesome. I'm still learning and exploring his character and mannerisms, and practicing with the elk reed call, but it's been a blast.
Some notes:
Tachyon is a completely separate character from me.
Tachyon does not know he is a fursuit.
The AttackTachyon account will not reply to comments/questions related to the suit, it's builder, etc. As far as he knows, Telephone is his Mama and the other angel dragons are his cousins.
I, however, am more than happy to talk about the suit, if you have any questions.
For those of you at AnthroCon: Tachyon will be out and about Saturday night after 9, and on Sunday nine after dinner. He is nocturnal, because the person playing him is chained to her dealer's table all day.

What's Rondie doing at ANTHROCON?
General | Posted 11 years agoStolen from
nyomi and
rinthedragon
Where are you staying?
Dealer Central, AKA Courtyard Marriott. Rooming with these cool cats:
nyomi
rinthedragon
When are you getting there?
For purposes of socialization, I shall be out and about starting Wednesday afternoon!
How are you traveling?
Giant metal burd!
How is the best way to find you?
Swing by Table B18 during Dealer's Den hours! Otherwise… *laughs nervously* good luck—I'm all over place after hours.
What do you look like?
Mildly androgynous lady with Lord Vaako hair. Often accompanied by a little red dragon.
Are there any panels you might be attending?
There are so many I want to…
foxamoore's "Come Find Me" release… the National Aviary's Drawing Birds… of course I'll be at the artist/dealer's reception,
2gryphon's show, and I'll do my best to make the charity performance as well.
Do you do trades?
Only with very good friends.
Do you do badges?
I do all the badges. Come by my table (B18) and I will take care of your badge needs.
Can I talk to you?
Always, darling.
Can I touch you?
I have absolutely no problem with friendly hugs, high-fives, hand-shakes, head-butts, butt-to-butt rubs, and impromptu dancing. Whatever you're comfortable with, babe.
Can I buy you a drink?
You can buy something from my table! (B18)
Can I give you stuff?
You're a darling. Gifts are always appreciated.
Are you nice?
I… try hard?
Will you be going to parties?
Perhaps!
Will you be performing?
My life is a performance, baby, and you're in the front row.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
"OH MY GOD IT'S AGENT ELROND!" usually works. XD I also answer to Rondie.
Can I take your picture?
Give me fair warning! I will put on a good face for you!
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
To bring home less artwork than I brought. XD You can help with this! Also… visit with all my friends and have fun.

Summer Con Schedule
General | Posted 11 years agoHey folks! Thought I'd put up some notes about my con schedule for the coming months!
Firstly, I'll be dealing and arting at AnthroCon next month—July 3-6. You can buy merch and/or commission me at Table B18 in the Dealer's Den, and you'll also be able to bid on my artwork in the art show—gonna be posting some of the originals that will be going in the coming weeks.
After that, I'm going to pull a reverse
foxamoore and head over to Scotland for the first half of August, before heading south to London for World Con—that's a sci-fi/fantasy lit con that's sort of a big deal—from August 14-17. I'll be in the art show there, and I'm also looking into running a Diana Wynne Jones appreciation panel.
Aaand right after that I fly over to Germany for EUROFURENCE…where I will probably collapse in a heap on the floor of
rinthedragon's room. J/k I'll be partying it up in Berlin, since I won't be dealing, won't be in the art show, and won't be running any panels (that I know of). Eurofurence is all about having fun and relaxing for me, but if you catch me at the right moment I might doodle in your conbook.
Hope I can see a bunch of you at one or more of those cons! I'm especially interested to know if any furries will be going to LonCon 3 (World Con), since I won't know many people there.
Take care all, and have a great summer!

BADGE COMMISSIONS - CLOSED
General | Posted 11 years agoIt's that time of the year again! AnthroCon is around the corner, and I'm open for badge commissions! I do this maybe once or twice a year, so even if you're not going to AC (actually especially if you're not going to AC) now is the time to get a badge from me! I will be accepting orders (no limitation on slots except for where noted) until Midnight Pacific Time on Sunday June 8th. That gives you a week to get your orders in—afterwards you'll have to come to my table at AC or wait for me to open up again… which looking at my schedule for the remainder of 2014 might not be until next year. (See the bottom of this journal for ordering instructions.)
EDIT: ORDER WINDOW IS CLOSED! You'll have to order at my table at AC, or watch this space for next time!
First, the badges!
I have several different badge models to choose from, for people on any sort of budget. You can see examples of them and their respective cost listed below.
Some things to keep in mind: These are Flat Rate badges, which means I need payment in full and up front. In the event that I am unable to make your badge I will refund you in full. Tax and domestic shipping are included, but international shipping may incur additional fees. Also LAMINATION IS AN OPTION… for an extra $5. *Unless* you're picking the badge up at AC, in which case lamination is included free of charge.
BADGES:
Gazing Badge
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10698009
Cost: $25
Standard Badge
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10685181
NOTE: You may chose either watercolor OR colored pencil as your media of choice with no effect on the price.
Cost: $55
Black Badge (LIMITED TO 6 SLOTS; lamination N/A)
NOTE: this is a new type of badge that I'm making. The board is painted with a water-resistant varnish, and it comes with a ribbon and clip. This badge will ONLY be available as a mail or pre-order: I will NOT be doing them at AC.
Example: https://www.weasyl.com/submission/6.....un-black-badge

NOTE:
I'm phasing out the Pony Badges, but if you absolutely must have just ask and I'll send you the Pony Badge order form.
Speaking of order forms, if you'd like to get one or any of these badges, simply copy and paste the order form below, fill it out as best you can, and email it to me at:
gorondie[at]gmail[dot]com
I will not be accepting order via note or private message: only emails count! Also, payment will be via PayPal unless otherwise discussed.

BADGE ORDER FORM
Badge Type: [Gazing//Standard//Black]

Finally, a special note for those of you going to AC. I think it's only fair to warn you that prices for these badges will go up for at the con. I've found this is necessary due to the limited number of orders I can fill over the course of the weekend. You'll still be able to get the prices listed above for take-home orders, but if you want your badge ready for pick-up at AC it's gonna cost significantly more. So really the best thing to do is pre-order it now, and I'll have it ready for you to pick up from my table on Friday. You'll get a better deal, and you'll have your badge to wear around the entire con.
Once again, I'm open for orders until Midnight, Sunday June 8th (Pacific Time). Send an email to gorondie[at]gmail[dot]com if you'd like a badge, have any questions, or just want to chat. Looking forward to seeing you crazy people at AC—and for my European friends…
Eurofurence is coming up. >.>

Once again, I'm open for orders until Midnight, Sunday June 8th (Pacific Time). Send an email to gorondie[at]gmail[dot]com if you'd like a badge, have any questions, or just want to chat. Looking forward to seeing you crazy people at AC—and for my European friends…
Eurofurence is coming up. >.>

Year of the God-Fox Book 4 Launch!
General | Posted 11 years agoJust a reminder that Book 4 of Year of the God-Fox launches on Friday! To celebrate, I'm making the entirety of Book 1 free to read for tomorrow (Tuesday the 22nd). Book 2 will be free to read on Wednesday, and Book 3 on Thursday! So if you've been having reservations over shilling out for a webcomic, now's your chance to get a time-limited peak at what's been going on!
Note that you still have to purchase a book to be able to comment on the pages themselves, and the books will revert to their normal viewing status at the end of their respective day. So keep your browsers pointed at
http://www.yearofthegodfox.com
for some exciting times.
Already bought the comic? Spread the word to your friends about this opportunity! And you'll be seeing the exciting conclusion on Friday!

Summer Badges -- Waiting List
General | Posted 11 years agoWe're getting into convention season, it seems, and I've been hearing some noise about people wanting badges from me. Which is great! I'm always delighted, and rather honored, when people ask me to make such an important piece of art for them (because badges are important!)
Now, unfortunately, I can't take on badge orders right this second. HOWEVER, I do plan on opening for badge orders in late May/Early June (in time for all you AC-goers to order your badges in time for Pittsburgh). So with that in mind I am opening up the Summer Badges waiting list! Simply note me, email me ( gorondie[at]gmail[dot]com ) or leave a comment on this journal.
Please let me know what sort of badge you'd like, and how you'd like to be contacted (private note/email). You don't have to provide references or anything, and if you're not sure what type of badge you want, that's okay too. This isn't a binding contract or anything. Being on the waiting list doesn't mean you HAVE to buy a badge from me—it just means I'll let you know as soon as I'm accepting orders. Whether you want to order one at that time is up to you.
You can find a list of my flat rate badges over on my commission page, here: http://www.furaffinity.net/commissi.....s/agentelrond/ But for the tl;dr crowd:
Simple, Gazing badges are $25
Pony Badges are $35
Standard Badges are $50
And if you want something different (extra big, double-sided, etc.) contact me with specifics and I'll whip you up a quote.
You can also add lamination for an extra $6 (I work with
sssage to bring you super-good lamination).
I am also obligated to charge an 8% CA sales tax. :P
Shipping is $5 Domestic, $10 international. Pick up at AC is, of course, free.
Payments will be done with PayPal, please.
Waiting list will be open until May 15. HAVE AT IT!
(If you leave a public comment, please let me know how I should contact you. If you'd like to be noted privately, say so, but I prefer to communicate via email. In which case you should note me with your email, or email me directly at gorondie[at]gmail[dot]com )
THANKS!

So what's up with commissions?
General | Posted 12 years agoSo I had a couple people come up to me at FC and mention how they had things they wanted me to draw for them, but that I was never open for commissions.
I had to admit they have a point: I try to balance my "personal" professional work (illustrations for my books, comics, art shows, etc.) with "for hire" professional work, and the result is that I rarely make big, grand, I AM OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS announcements. And forget to take down my "closed for commissions notice." XP
Truth this, you can query about a commission AT ANY TIME. Basically all you have to do is send me an email (this works best, since I don't check FA every day) and… ask! Tell me what you want, ask how much it would cost—I have the flat rates for badges posted on my Commission Info page, and you can find my hourly rates for custom work posted here so you can get some idea—tell me if you have any time constraints (need a badge for a particular con, say) and I will let you know! I may not be able to take the job immediately—especially if it's something big—but I can at least give you an idea of when I will be able to. I'll still post updates when I have an opening to take commissions—usually between "personal projects" where there is a short window of time where I can work for hire. But if there's something you really want done—just contact me! You can get in touch with me via email at
gorondie[at]gmail[dot]com
and I will write back as soon as I can.
Hope everyone is doing well! Over on my end I'm warming up to get the last book of Year of the God-Fox ready to post, a couple of (le gasp) commissions, and of course the next batch of Astral Chimera. And there will be some new releases coming from Heliopause Productions in the coming weeks/month.
Best!

Wrestling with Weasyl
General | Posted 12 years agoSo last year I decided to make a Weasyl account. I went, I made it, I uploaded some art… and then nothing.
Nothing happened. I got a few comments, a few followers, but over all, most of the action and activity was over here on FA. All my friends were here. So the Weasyl account fell by the wayside until the Great FA Blackout of last Fall. It was at that point that I was motivated to dust off my Weasyl account and tidy it up a bit. And the reason was not that all my friends were there now—I remained in contact with them via Twitter and Skype, mostly—but simply because, without FA, I now had the raw energy to spend time on Weasyl. And you know what? I enjoyed it! I like Weasyl's design, I like the way they have tags instead of categories, I LOVE the live previews for comments/journals. There are some things I'd prefer they did differently—featuring your favorites on your page along with your own art, and also custom thumbnails instead of the square ones—but for the most part I find it easier and more pleasant to use than FA. Also, the fact that they apparently give out TARDISes to their admins which allow them to respond to your problems WITHIN SECONDS is a nice perk.
Now that FA is back, I've been trying to keep active on both sites and it's just not working. Something's got to… not necessarily go, but get cut back.
So from now on I've decided to prioritize replies, comments, favorites, journals, announcements, commissions (which are mostly over email now but whatevs) AND art posting… over on my Weasyl.
If you've been wanting to get art from me, or just want to know what I'm up to, that'll be the place to go. Whatever energy I have left will be channeled to FA and interacting with the friends that remain here, but from now on, if you're on Weasyl, that's where you'll be hearing from me.
This has been a slow change that's been building for several months, but in the interest of full disclosure the changeover has been expedited somewhat by certain events, and I suggest EVERYONE go read that journal. What you decide to do with that information is ENTIRELY UP TO YOU.
For myself…

you'll see me around the internet, but not so much here.

FC Master Announcement Post Thinger
General | Posted 12 years agoMy itinerary for Further Confusion in San Jose this weekend!
Arrival: FRIDAY (late, I know!) but in the morning so I can set up for the Art Show.
Departure: SUNDAY NIGHT (early, I know!)
Hotel: Marriott
Items of Interest:
•I will be exhibiting in the Art Show with all my Astral Chimeras. I highly recommend you stop in and take a look, even if you're not interested in buying. I've put a lot of effort into these babies and the scans really don't do them justice—you MUST see them in person.
•I will probably be at karaoke Friday night… goodness know what will come out of my face.
Other than that, FC is pretty much a free con for me. I will probably be bumming around the fursuit panels quite a bit and hanging out with
nyomi and
arofatamahn and trying not to get sick on Psycho Donuts. If you see me around feel free to say hi! I will also likely accept meal invites provided I have nothing else planned.
SEE YOU THAR!
