Why I voted for Trump (please read before unfriending)

Allow me to introduce myself, sir, I am the most credulous buffoon that you'll ever meet, and I couldn't help but overhear, sir, that you think Donald J Trump is bad. Now, sir, I believe we have a contradiction here... for you see, sir, I myself voted for Donald Trump and I am a good person... therefore, it follows that every action I take must therefore ipso facto also be good. This is simple logic, sir, and if you ponder upon it I am sure that you will be forced to acknowledge it as quite correct. Surely, of course, you would not have the boorish manners to tell me that I am wrong, not after I've been so unfailingly polite in all my interactions with you. Check and mate, good sir!
Why, I have done extensive research into Donald J Trump and I have determined that he is simply a spirited individual who, when he speaks of stripping away the rights of women and queer people, of criminalizing trans people, of banning books, of making pornography illegal and imprisoning all adult artists, of classifying all queerness as pornography and thus of justifying the persecution of LGBTQ people, of ending the affordable care act, of dismantling our nation's education system, of outlawing entire fields of research like history and sociology and psychology and English and the arts for being too woke, of leveraging the full power of the state to crush his ideological enemies, of destroying the economy with tariffs, of decimating our nation's food safety regulations, of banning anti-depressants, of pushing a nationwide abortion ban, of rounding up and deporting immigrants regardless of legal status, of attacking unions and the power of labor, of abandoning Ukraine to Russia's ethnic cleansing, of escalating the Gaza genocide even more, of criminalizing cannabis, of turning over the federal government to his cronies for looting, of deflourinating the water, of drilling in our national parks, of banning Muslims, of ramping up fossil fuel production in a time of climate catastrophe, of empowering police to be even more violent, of leaving the Paris Climate Accords and NATO and the UN, of withholding disaster aid to American citizens if they live in blue states, of not having any future elections, of ruling like a dictator, of how much he admires Hitler and wants to govern just like Hitler, why he's just lying for fun! He never means anything that he says. That's why I simply had to vote for him. You see, his constant lying is an indication of his scrupulous honesty.
Oh, you think that Donald Trump is evil? How laughable! Clearly, you have not given this matter intense thought and scrutiny as I have. For you see, sir, I have never once heard Donald J Trump stand up in front of an audience and say "I am evil." And, sir, if you lack the smoking gun... how can you make such a slanderous accusation against our president?? I thought that the tolerant left was required to be unfailingly polite even in the face of the most outrageously vacuous stupidity? That you would judge me by my beliefs and actions is simply absurd... perhaps it is YOU who is actually prejudiced.
Ah yes of course, I see that you think Trump is bad. But that only reveals your own bias, because, you see, it differs from my supposition that trump is good! Perhaps if you spent more time patiently listening to me, you might even learn something. You see, I have many deep intellectual insights to offer.

Posted 8 years agoJust one week to go to make 'Firebrat' into an actual physical reality! We’re 90% funded, so, by my exceedingly accurate calculations, we only need another 15 people pre-ordering the physical book to actually MAKE the physical book happen! I don’t know about you, but I continue to believe in Christmas miracles! I think there must be 15 people out there in Internet land who have the taste and refinement to want a physical copy of this fine Christmas tome on their shelves. You should definitely follow the lead of the 74 wisest, smartest, most beautiful people I know and back this project while you still can!
And, heck, if there’s MORE than 15 people out there who’re down for a zany Christmas treat full of krampuses and giant yuletide cats and other shenanigans, why, we might just get enough to make it HARDCOVER!! And if there’s even MORE than maybe even in full color!!! You should check them out, because they're looking really sweet, like a sugar plum dipped in shiny foil tinsel or some other appropriately holiday-esque metaphor.
