Returning to New York...
Posted 11 years agoAs it so happens, I will be back in New York City for a couple week; I just wish it was on better circumstances. My niece, Jeida and my nephew Andrew were badly beaten in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. While Andrew is in stable condition, my niece could not sustain her injuries and died yesterday. Just the images of her face and the sight of her smile now make me heartbroken over her loss. I hope my brother is able to stay strong through this ordeal, but one of his greatest strengths is family: and I intend to be there for him. I will be leaving Indiana Tuesday after settling some affairs so that I can bus it to New York and be there for my family. I'll probably stay at my Grandmother's place for a while and stay among family during my time.

MFF 2014
Posted 11 years agoI've been planning to go to MFF this year, but there's been a snag in the plan in terms of my rooming arrangements. So now I'm looking for a room for the con for Thursday-Monday. If anyone knows a place I can crash, just hit me up. I have an air mattress so no need to worry about bedspace.
BIRTHDAY!!!
Posted 11 years agoI'm 23 and OHH MY GOD I had the best date EVER. Went to the club with friends Saturday night and a guy from Indianapolis staying at my friend's house and I were hanging out all night. We danced a LOT and him and I made out on the dance floor. Afterwards we all went to Steak-n-Shake to recover and we snuggled up n the car on the way home. Then we snuggled on his air mattress and... the other part is private. But I WILL say that it was the most intimate experience I ever had. From there, we passed out and had brunch with our friend when we woke up. Shared a shower and then we just parted ways. Not crushing on him because he left to go on a date with someone he knew from Indy, but I can tell we're going to be good friends. And honestly, I love making new friends. Thanks to these guys, I had the best birthday ever. But now I go off to sleep and prepare for work in the morning. Will put up my Feb. Journal this week. :3

FWA 2014
Posted 11 years agoWho am I going to see there? ^^
January 2014
Posted 12 years agoWell, this months had its twists and turns, but overall I made it out okay. For one, I was placed in a more relaxed area of my job and starting to make a name for myself. Also, I feel like I have the job down-pack. While some things annoy me to an extent, I do like my job and I'm crossing my fingers for new opportunities to open up.
Secondly, I finished buying a car, a 1999 Buick Century. It needs some cosmetic work, a new Muffler and Catalytic Converter is needed, the battery is on its last legs, and the 4th Cylinder is misfiring (whatever that means). So after getting an oil change and some fuel injector cleaner, I'm going to get new plugs and wires to hopefully fix the cylinder issue. My next check will be for a new battery. When I get my Tax Refund, I'll get the muffler and catalytic converter so my car can have minimal issues. Also, I got insurance for it as a cheap price and waiting for my plates to arrive.
New Years was a blast and got to go to a local bar in Bloomington with a couple friends. I hope to return there again. Some friends I haven't spoken with in years messaged me and it's like we just talked yesterday. Such a feeling reminds me that people care in one capacity or another. So if you haven't today, text or IM or call someone you haven't spoken with in a while whom you enjoyed good company. You won't regret it.
Otherwise, that's pretty much my month. Now that it's February, I hope it goes by as soon as possible. Not because of Valentines Day; I just hope it was March so I can celebrate my 23rd Birthday!

Posted 12 years agoI HAVE FWA ROOM SPACE
Posted 12 years agoI'll be going to FWA for my fourth year in a row. It sort of has a soft-spot in my heart as a con where discover more about who I am compared to other conventions. Cons like AC and MFF just affirm the friendships I made at past conventions while smaller ones like FurFright (RIP) gave me a laid back environment where I could meet locals and have a good time. Many furries have their Convention Mecca, and for me, it's Furry Weekend Atlanta.
At the moment, I booked a 2-Queen bedroom at the Westin Hotel for Thursday March 20 until Monday March 24th. I requested a lower floor so elevator-waiting won't be a hassle but if I recall, all the elevators in that hotel go to the 45th: so I might get that so getting to my floor would be fastest going both up and down.
As for roommates, I currently have only one, which would be my fursuiter friend from Massachusetts who has helped me out so much back in 2012 and since. The rooms at FWA are a decent size, so I might be able to get up to 5 people in the room. If I get 5 people in the room, the price per-person will be $130. POSSIBLE 6th person might be allowed and if that happens, the price drops to $110 per-person. If you want to room with my friend and I, just leave a reply here or PM me.

The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated
Posted 12 years agoFor anyone trying to reach me over the last few months, I humbly apologize. I did not mean to worry any of you, but I'm in a better place now. Since leaving New York City and living in Indiana, I have grown more self-confident and self-sufficient. It was due to the help of my friends, my roommate, and some of the new friends I made in this state. My only hope now is to meet some of the furries that live in Indiana and get connected with them.
But perhaps that's putting my last 6 months too general. Since July, I worked at a Dollar General and found it productive to my health and my wallet to take the 5-mile bike ride to work. While working there offered adequate pay, I knew that working at most 24 hours a-week was something no one could live on. So after months of applying to many jobs, I got one in a local facility and I'm proud to call myself a supervisor now. The pay is good, the benefits help immensely, and now I'm starting to pay my student loans along with any other loans I owe. But this hard work came at a sacrifice of my social life, as I spent too much time and focus on my job. For that, I apologize to all my friends. I know that some of you worried about me, but it's safe to say that I've improved through my stay in Indiana. Some of the character flaws that many of you seen of me have been greatly reduced. Thanks to introspective and some blunt words by people who cared, I did what I could to curb these social inadequacies. I even speak up more often and engage in conversations more easily than before. All of which helped for my excursion to Chicago.
When I arrived Friday morning to Chicago on the 22nd, I was excited but nervous about going back to a convention, especially after the bad news I received at FWA this previous March. Yet as soon as I walked in and relaxed, I found people I haven't seen in months. I'll admit I was shy to approach many of them at first, but those who knew me called for me and have me hugs. For a while I thought I was just a forgotten memory in the fandom, but I guess this just shows me how friendships can last despite distance. Otherwise it was the usual for me at a con: getting drunk all weekend, dancing to Recca's set Friday and Having Such A Good Time at Rawkz0rz's set. I got to see friends from the Northeast I haven't seen in a year, and I was so glad that we caught up. Floor Wars and the Dance Comp blew my mind so much! The Massacre known as Furternity took the competition to an entirely new level and I hope to see more of them. I'm eternally grateful to Athena for letting me wear AMF and messing with people thinking I was her. Came close to nailing her voice, but apparently had her ass according to a few. I was honestly speechless. Trigger, Carwyn, Taiko, and Roady: the trip to downtown Chicago was pretty awesome and next MFF we're going to Al Bundy's Fountain. Recca: Your room was the most convenient room all con. If you ever need a Crush, hit me up. Starsky: You're an awesome guy and I hope that you and Tigerpaw spend many years together! Terre Haute Furs: If it wasn't for you guys, I would have never made it to MFF and I thank you all for being good friends to me!
On a side note, I created a new Twitter account. My previous one was hacked by a family member and later deleted during my hiatus. However I made one completely separate from the emails I previously used and if anyone wants it, just leave me a PM.
But that's all I can think about right now. I love each and every one of you that has been there for me through thick and thin throughout the years. Next stop: Atlanta, Georgia to represent the Frat Furs at FWA 2014!

Hobbies
Posted 13 years agoThere are many things a lot of the people I met do for their pasttime and for their enjoyment. Some are gamers, others are dancer. Some go out on trips to visit people and places, and others have the talent of the arts. However, I do not have many hobbies, if any at all. Everytime I am asked "what are your hobbies," I honestly don't know how to respond. Growing up, my family didn't let me do much except go to school and stay home. Since moving to Massachusetts, all I can do was just browse the internet and work. While I love going to conventions and chatting with people on IMs (When people actually engage in conversation), I don't really have much to do in my spare time. Like my roommates play MMOs and have a vast amount of gamer knowledge that I don't feel like I can add much to any of such conversations. If I may ask you all: what kind of hobbies do you have, and for a person without hobbies and without a reliable means of transoprtation (And a shitty laptop from 2004 that runs on Windows XP and is dying), what hobbies do you think I should do? Any replies and suggestions are welcome.
