doing art!
General | Posted 15 years ago...not today, but by tomorrow i'll have this place clean and i'll be unpacked so i can get working on some paintings I owe. I can't wait! Look for updates from me about livestreams and progress
Dreamscape Montage (skating video)
General | Posted 15 years agomy brothers friends put together a video recently of some locals of the Westmont/Lisle area of the Chicago Suburbs.

I'm at 2:28 w/ just a backside nosepick on a jesey barrier. That thing is fun. It's a lot sketchier than it looks and there's a drop off behind it where the river goes when it floods

screen printing tips.
General | Posted 15 years agoFen said you would like some tips on screen printing.
Inks: I would select inks that are water soluble. It's a very messy process and the non water soluble ones would probably never get off of anything. That being said, controlling the mess is the hardest thing to do at first. I've found that Fabric inks have a more staining power and seemingly more pigment. Make sure to get a Retarder or Transparent base, these will help the ink from drying in your screen which makes it near impossible to do fine line work, causes imperfections, and could permanently damage the screen. I usually use minimally 1 parts Transparent Base to 3 parts Ink. I would start w/ just the primaries, black, white, and transparent base to get all the colours you want through mixing. When applied the ink dries darker by 5-10% so I would make sure it's lighter than what you think you want. Color theory and how they react to each other can't really be taught through words. Experiment. More Transparent Base Extender the more transparent the color gets and the more mixing can occur. Some inks are transparent out of the containter so you have to add some opaque and possibly a tiny bit of opaque black to counter the lightening of the white. I would also use a digital proof of the piece you want it. This allows you to match the colors so that when mixing you can see if the colors are correct b/c all color is just relative to the colors around it.
Screens: I go w/ a 156 mesh count screen. It's much easier to use than a higher mesh count screen for beginners, doesn't dry nearly as fast, and puts more ink down which is good for fabrics. You can get really cheap aluminum ones here: http://www.victoryfactory.com/aluminum.htm
the ones in the special sections are very nice, the perfect all around sizes, and very cheap. I would buy an aluminum screen. I have both types and the huge problem w/ wood is that it warps. Mine slightly warped after only 2 uses, same w/ the rest of my class. Only big downside to an aluminum screen is that you cannot re-stretch the screen. On a wooden frame, one may remove the screen and staple on a new clean stretched one; where as an aluminum one is held by a glue that only manufacturers have access to. They are only $20-30 plus shipping so the price really doesn't matter if it's not going to warp.
When prepping the screen for printing, use a 2" roll of masking or artist's tape (NEVER GAFFERS/DUCT TAPE IT WILL RUIN THE SCREEN) and put it around the bottom side (the one that's completely flush) over the glue that holds the screen to the frame and onto the sides. This will help the screen last as the glue can degrade or the screen can start to shed from the edges. Also on the top side (the side the screen and frame are not flush) and put the tape along the sides where the aluminum and the screen meet (this prevents ink from getting under the frame which would both degrade the glue and also put pressure and loosen the screen. This tape should be removed after each time the screen is Reclaimed where as the other tape can stay on indefinately. Reclaiming means to make the screen blank again.
Squeegee: I would get the largest squeegee you can that will fit onto the screen (so about 2 inches less than the printable surface of the screen) you can find them here online: http://www.silkscreeningsupplies.com/
Designs on the screen:I would always keep at least a 3in from the edges of the screen surface. If too close to the edge it's near impossible to make consistent strokes w/ the squeegee to get good prints
Stencil method is the cheapest but by far the most frustrating. Making a stencil takes time, it's undetailed, it's limiting, and if the stencil degrades that's the end of the printing. To make a stencil i would make a design on paper. Spray the back of the paper w/ Easy Tack adhesive and put it onto some mylar or thicker transparency. Then cut out. Spray easy tack again onto the front of the mylar and then stick it to the bottom of the screen. I don't suggest you do this method or any one do it. It's really only used if one doesn't have the chemicals for better techniques
Screen Filler (typically a redish liquid) method has it's plus and minuses. One can paint this on w/ a brush to give a painterly/handmade effect. It prints the negative of the image painted. DO NOT GOOP IT ON. This is non water soluble and requires Greased Lightning (a cleaning solution) and a lot of elbow grease to get off when reclaiming the screen. If you want to paint what is going to be printed, you could use Drawing Fluid (typically a blue/green liquid). After it's dry, with a raised screen (so the exposed screen is not touching anything underneath you pour a small bead of Screen Filler and with a squeegee spread a thin even layer over the surface. Don't worry if not everything is covered. If there are missing spaces, you can use artist or masking tape to cover up the spaces you don't want to be printed. I would apply the tape underneath the screen so that during printing the squeegee stroke won't be affected and won't affect the tape. You can greatly speed up the drying time for the Screen Filler w/ a hair dryer. After it dries, spray water against the screen, the water based Drawing Fluid will dissolve leaving the red Screen Filler. Let dry again and ready for print. To reclaim the screen apply Greased Lightning and let it soak for 5 min, come back and work it w/ a lot of elbow grease w/ a hand brush found at dollar stores. Then use a power washer or the highest pressure water you can get and spray it like hell.
This last method is by far the best. Photo Emulsion is highly accurate/detailed, a computer can be used to make the designs, how the professionals do it, and much easier to reclaim than screen Filler. The stuff is light sensitive and heat sensitive so just fyi don't apply it light (usually use a safe light or just a dim room) or use a blowdryer to dry it. The container of it should be kept in a fridge. We use a trough designed for the application of the emulsion, but one could also use a squeegee. W/ a squeegee one would hold the screen at a 70-80 degree angle w/ the bottom of the screen tilting to the ground. Hold the squeegee at about and inch or 2 from where the screen meets the aluminum frame at the bottom of the screen. Ten put a bead of the emulsion across the squeegee and run it up the screen. You will have to go over it a few times to scrape as much excess emulsion as you can. The thinner and more uniform the better. If it's too thick it could still be wet during exposure and may not get exposed enough to get a good image. Practice and good technique is essential. Put it in a completely dark room w/ a fan going on it for at least an hour and a half (depending on the brand of emulsion the drying times vary) or until the screen is COMPLETELY DRY. Using a computer, make what you want printed black. Remember that it's a binary process so if you want gradients or photo realism you have to convert it to a bitmap halftone which i would be glad to show you how to do, but it's demo in it of itself. Print it out on using a lazer printer if possible b/c it will give you the best dark blacks on the paper. If you don't have a lazer printer, you could go to kinko's and get it done there or better yet get them to print it on transparency (i've never tried it w/ inkjet printers and also transparency will speed up exposure time emensely) You'll have to look up peoples experiments on the emulsion or what they suggest for the approximate exposure time, but I think 30minutes in bright sunlight should be a good starting point for transparency, maybe an hour for paper. After exposure spray w/ water under till the image comes through where it didn't get that much exposure. Let dry and ready to print. If there are places where it didn't get exposed and there are holes in the emulsion apply either tape or Screen Filler to them to cover them up. The speedball version of it comes w/ a reclaiming agent that will let you reclaim your screen but also a thing called Dual-Strip works well. http://www.ehow.com/how_10855_expos.....-emulsion.html
Use: screens can be put directly onto a surface such as fabric, the wall, an object, or etc, but it requires that another person holds the frame down in place while printing. Usually the set up I use for flat prints is to to put hinged clamps as seen here: http://www.ryanrss.com/2HingedClamps.html , onto a thick board. Home Depot has some good .5 inch think composite plywood boards (just make sure the surface is completely smooth or you will get indention in the paper). I would always tape a piece of newsprint down first under the screen. Then put down a piece of transparency down, taping one edge of it to the plywood or table (this will be used as registration to make sure you know where it's going to print). Apply ink liberally in a bead at top of screen. Take squeegee and with your body weight pull the squeegee towards you at and angle. The more pressure one puts the more ink that will get through or in a thinner more even layer, as well as, the more at an angle (the more parallel to the screen) a squeegee is the more ink will get through or the thinner and more uniform it will be. Don't be afraid of muscling it like the bitch it is.
Finally wash everything and reclaim the screen. Hold it against a back light or the sky to see if there are any of the holes being blocked (YOU MUST GET RID OF THEM ASAP OR THEY WILL BECOME PERMANENT) Dry and you are done. Sometimes too much pigment used will cause Hazing which is the pigment particles stuck in/on the fibers of the screen. It shouldn't effect later uses, but raises the chances of that those holes will clog and then become useless. It's a binary process, so ink either goes through it or it doesn't.
Have fun!

The art of ejaculation and Priapus is the best God ever!
General | Posted 15 years ago(NSFW and 18+) http://www.johncoulthart.com/feuill.....f-ejaculation/
Probably one of the best things on the internet is this as well:
also the roman god of fertility Priapus: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....%C3%A9o_03.jpg
"Statues of Priapus were often hung with signs bearing epigrams, collected in Priapeia (treated below), which threatened sexual assault towards transgressors of the boundaries that he protected:
Percidere, puer, moneo; futuere, puella;
barbatum furem tertia poena manet.
Femina si furtum faciet mihi virve puerve,
haec cunnum, caput hic praebeat, ille nates.
Per medios ibit pueros mediasque puellas
mentula, barbatis non nisi summa petet.
I warn you, boy, you will be screwed; girl, you will be fucked;
a third penalty awaits the bearded thief.
If a woman steals from me, or a man, or a boy,
let the first give me her cunt, the second his head, the third his buttocks.
My dick will go through the middle of boys and the middle of girls,
but with bearded men it will aim only for the top.[15] "
another one says:
Non rudis indocta fecit me falce colonus:
Dispensatoris nobile cernis opus.
Nam Caeretani cultor ditissimus agri
Hos Hilarus colles et iuga laeta tenet.
Adspice, quam certo videar non ligneus ore,
Nec devota focis inguinis arma geram:
Sed mihi perpetua nunquam moritura cupresso
Phidiaci rigeat mentala digna manu.
Vicini, moneo, sanctum celebrate Priapum,
Et bis septenis parcite iugeribus.
I am not hewn from fragile elm, nor is my member which stands stiff with a rigid shaft made from just any old wood. It is begotten from everlasting cypress, which fears not the passage of a hundred celestial ages nor the decay of advanced years. Fear this, evil doer, whoever you are. If your thieving rod harms the smallest shoots of this here vine, like it or not, this cypress rod will penetrate [i.e. sodomise] and plant a fig in you.[16]

Anniversary!
General | Posted 15 years agoSo now marks the 1 year anniversary since
woody and i have been boyfriends, we were dating for 3 and a half weeks before that. We spent Sunday night at a gay campground called Campit in Michigan and as you can assume some of the craziest hot sexy romantic stuff went down. 1st time skinny dipping or being in the woods naked. The answer to your question is yes.
Me and woody have come up that we probably going to go as a big fur group next year either as a group of friends or as an open invite to furs as a furmeet for a weekend in the summer. We'd probably be asking a lot of Chicago, LAFF, Michigan, and Columbus Crew to head up w/ us. Incentives are: only $10 for year membership, have to pay for a site to camp which can be split between how many people you want to cram in, trailers to rent if you don't like camping, alcohol is encouraged, community and individual showers, nudity and sexual conduct is ignored, 2.5hrs from chicago, heated pool, outdoor fitness center, 35 acres of land.
On monday, we drove down to Warren Dunes where we set up camp and then headed off to go climb the 200ft dunes and watch the sunset together. After that, dinner and a campout w/ smores and snuggling in the tent. It was my first time camping.
On tuesday we got up, packed up, and headed out to go to some premium outlet malls for food and where we went to this leather store and tried some on. We stopped at this really old theatre and saw Scott Pilgrim and it was fucking amazing. Then off to Starved Rock for hiking / climbing in the canyons. It was slightly drizzling but that made it perfect
All in all, it was one of the best weekend/summer/year/friend/lover ever!

Cirque Du Soleil (warning: discussion of circumcision)
General | Posted 15 years agoThese are just my opinions so if you are easily offended don't read or don't make a flamewar.
I've always wondered why so many furries say they like uncut penises over cut ones. I've come up w/ a few guesses myself and just want to throw them out there for discussion. I just sick of going to a drawing of an uncut guy and there be a shit ton of posts saying "uncut ftw" or "I <3 uncut" and then later in the thread they say that they were "robbed at birth" and don't actually have one (and probably don't see them that often). People that are cut seem to be ashamed in these discussions to say something like "i think he would look hotter cut" or that they are cut. I used to really be into uncut when i was 13-18 in porn b/c i just found out what it was. The part about myself not having it was alluring to me, but after a few actual experiences with it, I really don't like it in a sexual way.
1. animals are uncut,
ergo if one finds the animal penis hot or the anthro hot, they would like the sheaf. In my anthros, the anthros are neither cut nor uncut in the human sense, but the sheaf acts as a foreskin to the anthros human penis (this makes it appear cut when aroused but when soft it looks like a sheaf). I don't understand how an antrho is going to have a sheaf and a foreskin (double foreskin paradox) or if they look uncut when aroused after looking like a dog sheaf (stretching foreskin paradox) as no animal can really do either of these.
2. the weird kids were uncut growing up
. In the US 85% of white men are cut. The fandom is mostly white men from America, so probably most of the fandom w/ a penis is cut. Growing up in Chicago, easily 95% kids are cut in the suburbs. The only kids that I saw w/ them growing up were the strange ones (foreigners included no offense) That is not to say that if you're uncut that you're strange, it's just the kids that were uncut at my schools were very much so the outcasts. I can understand how this may make the furry fandom % go up as this is a group of misfits. Circumcision is as old as the Egyptians if not older making it one of the oldest customs still practiced.
3. homo/bisexuality:
I really don't know one girl who prefers uncut to cut. all of them that have talked to me about this have said that they prefer it to the point of not wanting to do anything w/ an uncut one. All girls that i have been w/ are like "oh thank god you're cut" (I'm sure there will be some girl to respond to this that they like them, lulz). The reasons are from religious to aesthetic to cleanliness to that cut penises allow for the corona to pleasure the inside of vagina where the uncut penises pleasure the man more. My non-fur gay friends have sided on the cut, i can't think of one that prefers uncut who I have talked to, but i'm assured there are many who do, although acting upon it would be another thing b/c of the amount of cut to uncut here). Fur friends on the other hand seem to say that they like it more, but then again some to most that have said this have had cut boyfriends.
4. I don't have it so i want it.
It's like the child who wants the ball b/c he doesn't have it. Why does he want the ball? b/c he doesn't have it. What is a good reasom someone who has no idea what it's like to actually live w/ an uncut dick want one? b/c he doesn't have it or told it's better. There is the whole, "I want to make the decision if i'm cut or not". Given the choice I don't think a man for the most part would want to put a knife to his dick, plus I don't know if it would look more scarred if it was done at a later date. If cut, you don't have the decision to grow it back easily, it's either operation or you work that thing for years. I do wonder what it's like to be uncut, but w/ my experiences of it being rather meh to negative, I could not see it worth it.
5. it's not that hard to clean.
My experiences tell me other wise. Also a friend was saying that even after 30 minutes after a shower his boyfriend would have to clean out his foreskin due to how it would get gross after that amount of time. I've never had to actually go out of my way to clean my dick and i can't get dick cheese or smegma.
In short, I'm cut, proud I'm cut, and proud I prefer cut over uncut. Best 9:51am post ever.
10. Who sleeps on what side of the bed?
woody l ryan ( he sleeps nearest to the window usually)
11. Whose feet are bigger?

13. Who’s better with the computer?

23. Who kissed who first?
he did........again sex...not really romantic, I was very much so pulling away while he was trying :/
24. Who asked who out?
he did. We ended up dating prior to him asking me and we ended up falling in love during that time. I was planning the whole time on going to KC completely single and w/ no strings or even probably visits back, but at the last minute I gave in to him. Best concedement I've ever ended up doing. I couldn't be happier becoming the luckiest man on earth.
25. What did you do on your first date?
it wasn't meant to be a date. I only knew him for about a week and a half at this point.
unshackledfenrir didn't want to go to 6 Flags on this wednesday. Woody called up 3 others and none of them could/wanted to go. Called up me and I was ecstatic to go. I hadn't gone their since like 8th grade and loved it then. I had a very fuck it let's just go out have fun, no holds bar personality at this time (just came out of being depressed and lonely from a bad breakup / relationship). The other people that were there were: Lobo, Fitz (who were dating), Woody's sister and her at the time husband and his 2 nieces. So they just split off and left woody w/ just me. I told him that b/c of all the couples together this totally counts as a date of some sort. So we spent the whole day from 10am till 10pm at the park as a date. He said he had never been so open being w/ a guy in such a public place. We shared some amazing romantic moments at the end. After holding each other on The Condor, he said "I think i'm falling in .... murr w/ you". We both don't know what he was trying to say, but I like to think that the romance of that moment just hit him and that's when he started falling in love w/ me. We went back home and made love as he was sorta passing out. He precame and I laughed my ass off, he was so embarrassed partially b/c i think he still thought in the back of his head that i just liked him for the sex. I grinned and kissed him. That was one of the best days of my life.....I'm tearing up b/c of it.
26. Who’s more sensitive?
depends: i would say i'm much more protective and defensive when it comes to other men not respecting the boyfriend relationship and thinking they can treat him the same way they did when he was single in front of me. I remember him calling me b/c he was in tears in his office b/c he was looking at a photo of me and just had love come over him........ I love him so much.
27. Who’s taller?
he is by 2 inches or so, but he usually slouches so we're pretty much always eye-level
28. Who has more friends?
that's hard to say
He's a popufur and has a lot of gay friends
I have a shit fucking ton of them, but it's b/c i'm in a fraternity and know the sorority girls and go to another college and still talk to high school friends.
The amount doesn't matter, only the quality. I think we have our own friends and our own lives
29. Who has more siblings?
equal. he has a sister: I, a brother
30. Who wears the pants in the relationship?
hrm.........fuck........... I would say he #
I think as far as mannerisms go, i don't really have gay ones compared to him. Both are equally masculine though. Owns the condo, the car, I do the dishes and the laundry......yep him.

I'm now in Art School.
General | Posted 16 years agoSoooooooooooo.................. :3
I'm here in the lobby of the hotel that i'm staying at tonight before moving in tomorrow and want to give an update to people.
I'm now the boyfriend of
woody D: i know shocking right.......he's just too awesome, ya know?.... (no one would get the joke unless you know him). We even stooped to being FB official, but it glitched and we can't fix it. I mean yikes, the commitment *laughs* But yes, i'm very happy to be w/ him as you could tell from all my joking around. Just.....wow, i don't really think i've had this level of intimacy mixed w/ physical and spiritual connectedness before. I don't know if i have any precedence for it other than to just know we're really happy together. But enough of my romantic and faggoty self.
So tomorrow i move in to KCAI dorms. It's strange that i'm going to back into dorm life; both good and bad. Good in the sense that i'll meet so many people and really enjoy living w/ other artists, bad b/c it's so small and doesn't have as much freedom as a 20 yr old usually has. I think i'm going to close requests for now. I need to focus on school and i won't have much time for drawing for free. I'll mostly just being doing things for myself or for friends as gifts, but i'm thinking of opening up small commissions for badges for MFF and such. Trades are still cool, but i think i'm just closing requests to open commissions although i don't think anyone will want anything.
I will upload the things I do for school as well as my furry stuffs i do for fun. Oh and i have CS4 now and it's tits.

'erro. So........... (update of where i've been and such)
General | Posted 16 years agoI guess b/c i don't have a Live Journal I just say what I'm thinking on here. First off i'm really well. I've been mostly been staying w/ my fur friend and his roommates these last few weeks and haven't really had time to draw or be on IM's. Sorry to those that miss me and the like, but I'm very glad I'm not online more than what is necessary to read emails and keep up w/ my pages. I like to think that i'm only on b/c i'm bored or want to really draw or talk now-a-days.
I'm now dating the fur i'm visiting and have had some of the most romantic and meaningful memories with him in such a short time. It's not like I planned this when i came here, but it more or less just fell into place and feels right. I leave for KC in a week and i think i will go there w/ open paws to catch the next great thing, i don't think a long distance relationship will neither work nor make us happy. Without a doubt though, i will miss him a shit ton. I really love where I am now and the lessons I've learned. In the middle of the night his computer went on by itself so he told me to go on it and see when the sun rises so we can see it together, so i go on it and the window shows a mapquest directions to see how far he is from KC (he would blush and be embarrassed at me saying this but it was such a sweet and really amazing moment when i saw it and looked back into his blushing eyes that i have to share it). Also I would like to share some advice that he gave me that blew my mind, something that I considered the some of the best advice i've ever heard:
(this is paraphrased) One should not be angry at someone for doing something that you did not expect; instead you are the one at fault for having false expectations and should there by change how you see that person.
This summer started so good and quickly disintegrated til i was rather hurt and bitter towards a lot of things. I'm very glad that I have not lost my favourite trait of being able to appreciate where I am and who i'm w/ as much as i can. I've learned a lot this summer and I really don't even think i'm the same man i was 3 months ago. I'm growing up and constantly living and learning. I'm really glad i got to stay w/ people like
Lobosan,
Fitz, and
unshackledfenrir, they don't know how much i really appreciated their advice and being able to live w/ older furs meant to me right now.
Well I can't wait for what life brings, I'm soon to be off to see the hoss

profholdenhossRoughly 30 of my Favourite albums ever b/c 10 is too small
General | Posted 16 years agostolen from
kamui b/c they are awesomecakes but modded b/c i can't stop at 10 apparently so i just keep talking and suggesting. Some of these are my favourite artists and songs, but i left a lot of my favourite artists out b/c i had to pick based on the entire album working as a cohesive collection that said something.
Dark Was The Night -- Various Artist (I have this on vinyl as well and let me tell you that you need to get your paws/claws on this album if you want to know anything about indie music, just look at these artists on it: http://www.darkwasthenight.com/artists. Plus they have fucking lucifer falling from heaven as it's
Takk... -- Sigur Ros (this band is so fucking spiritual and amazing to listen to. This album makes me so happy to listen to during........anyting.......i want to make love, art, happiness, and just.......god..... Y can't all music just have as much emotion as this band makes. Get this album and listen to it till you die. )
both "Palo Santo" and "Rook" (yes i cheated and put 2 albums b/c they are that fucking good)-- Shearwater (2006's Album of the Year according to National Public Radio. I have it on vinyl and my god its.........fucking amazing. I 've listened to it fully maybe about 50 times on vinyl <3 plus it's my favourite band and one of the best live shows ever. So much so that i got them to say yes to play at my school for the spring concert, but as some know that didn't happen b/c the school fucked over our budget. Both been on Misra and Matador indie labels which both have some fucking great music to boot.)( last year saw one of the best indie albums ever thought of. All songs on this album will blow ur mind. Some of the instriments included are the double stringed dulcimer, the waterphone, and one of those keyboard things you blow into a hose to play.)
Our Ill Wills--Shout Out Louds (probably my most listen to album. I listened to it at least twice a day for like 2 months. Go out and buy it.........FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS INDIE ROCK BUY IT AND SUPPORT THIS BAND SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE MUSIC FOR ME TO BE INSPIRED BY.)
(I really want to put a bright eyes album in the list, but I'm more in love w/ all of it and think his best works are off of many albums and to me there was none that had me coming back over and over. but put together and selected out of them all, he's one of my favourite artists and my favourite lyricist, along w/ Ben Gibbard
Push The Button--The Chemical Brothers (This band has always been ahead of the times but I love their fucking great electronica. This Album has so much to offer a listener. Plus so many of the songs are used as comercials and samples it's not funny. What a fucking great band w/ a style and energy that can't be matched)
The Flying Club Cup -- Beirut (This band is made up of members of A Hawk and a Hacksaw and Neutral milkhotel. It's basically a balkan gypsie orkestra that plays at parties for victorian era ghosts. That's how i sum it up. It's a fresh of breath air to listen to this album and drive, just blasing it.)
Ragged Wood (w/ SunGiant ep when you buy it in vinyl :P, suckers) -- Fleet Foxes. ( this one really came out of left field b/c after they got their lead singer the band just got rid of all their old shit and recorded their debut album w/ their new singer. I saw this band live at Pitchfork last year and got their album on vinyl. It's so strang that when i saw them they were relatively unknown, where i heard them on the radio in my car like a week ago. Great music to listen to in the car)
Picaresque -- The Decemberists ( how can i say this.......get this album.......and you'll hate the new one. To grow w/ the band to see them fuck it all up w/ trying to make such a mediocre album is lame. their latest had to much focus on making it all fit as an album and tell a story, and not on what made the band amazing in the first place: originality, victorian & pirate lyrics, folk, unique instriments, and a fucking amazing eye for composition. Every song is treated like they are making a memorial for a lost child. come on....: "We Both Go Down Together", "Eli, The Barrow Boy", "The Bagman's Gambit", "From My Own True Love (lost at sea)", "The Engine Driver", "Of Angels and Angles", "16 Military Wives", and "The Mariner's Revenge Song".......wow what a piece of art that is.
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea -- Neutral Milk Hotel (*cums* there are few things that are better than just yelling and singing along to this at the top of one's lungs, I know all of the over 8mins of Oh, Comely by heart. I love it so much :3. This is what indie music should be. Fuck choruses)
Plans -- Death Cab For Cutie. (I love to listen to this album when i'm down, a lot of these songs have a lot of meaning to me as well. I would have to say that this is the best composed as an album out of any Death Cab album as well as the one w/ the best lyrics. I fucking love love love love "Brothers on a Hotel Bed" as you should know.)
Armchair Apocypha -- Andrew Bird (i've seen him twice, once in the Chicago Civic Opera house. The man is a musical genius and is so much better live. He uses looping machines so he can play a lot of his music with only himself w/ whistling, clapping, singing, guitar and violin. God this is such a perfect album)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah -- Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (What a fantastically strange band that just makes music sound so much fun that anyone can sound amazing and blow minds)
Prompts/Misues--Foundry Field Recordings (think super chill and innocent and loving. It's not really fair but think of Death Cab mixes w/ Architecture in helsinki and Grizzly Bear. God there are so many great songs even one that has made me cry before b/c it was so beautiful: it was broken strings and i'm glad i shared that moment w/ Wuffie, he's such an amazing person.......hahahahah that made me thinking of falling in the hottub just now)
Enter the Wu-Tang-- Wu-Tang Clan (best rap album ever, i don't care what you say you will not change my mind. b/c you ain't got shit on the Wu-Tang Clan)
Masters of the Universe -- Binary Star (unknown rappers from Detroit prison made an album then remade it into this one and then broke up. This is a musical master piece, not just a rap one. If you like rap or even the idea of rap, listen to this and you'll be stunned by how good this shit is)
(i'm going to cheat again and put 2 albums for the same band b/c i can't choose) "The Funeral" & "Neon Bible" -- The Arcade Fire. You need these albums.......now. That's all i really can say w/out sucking the bands dick and saying how much they are awesome >:3)
Fingers Crossed -- Architecture In Helsinki (nothing can really come close to the innocents that is this album. When i play it, it just reminds me of childhood experiences and memories. It just captures those feeling so well)
Ima Robot -- Ima Robot (i can garantee, you've played a videogame w/ one of the songs on this album. hahahaha.... and all the songs are so fucking good on here, it's ridonk)
Starfish -- The Church ( you most likely have no idea who this is and if you do , i love you so much. This is a new wave band in the 80s. They kick The Cures ass so much. Listen to this album and you'll never think of the 80s like you have before. One of their songs was in Donnie Darko too)
Broken Social Scene -- Broken Social Scene. ( let's face it they have Stars and Feist in this fucking epic band. I've also seen them front row and they rock live, what energy and great composition)
A Mad & Faithful Telling -- Devotchka (if you can't tell by now i'm extremely into Modern Folk, and this ain't no diffy. I love them and so should you, i don't think most can, but they did the soundtrack for Little Miss Sunshine if you're into that stuffs)
The Grey Album -- DJ Dangermouse (it's a mix of the Beatle's White Album and Jay Z's Black Album. I don't really like either of them seperate but omg Dangermouse can't do wrong and this changed rap forever and i wish more would take a cue stop likeing shit like Lil' Wayne or most of Kanye or 50 cent. Omg did i mention good rap.... I like it a lot :P. I used to hate almost of it....and still do, but at least i found something really good out of it)
Wet From Birth -- The Faint (saw them live front row, and let's just say i can't stop loving this band. This is what new rock is and should be. Plus electronica is cool people get w/ it :\)
Yellow House -- Grizzley Bear (you'll never find better music to go to bed to and just dream, it's so nice. I've done it so many times. It also helps w/ the creative self i think, I saw them at pitchfork last year)
Hold On Youngsters -- Los Campesinos ( every song is fucking amazing and the lyrics are oh so perfect for that band, oh and i've seen them live)
Before The Dawn Heals Us -- M83 (i've seen them front row and in a tiny venue, omg....*cums again* This is such an amazing album and needs to be blasted as loud as you can)
The Smiths -- The Smiths ( you know you love them, you know you'll never see them live ever in ur life :\ depressing like their music, but it's so beatifully depressing)
Greeting from Michigan: The Great Lakes State--Sufjan Stevens ( such an amazing album of folk music that blows minds and hearts. it's such a treat to listen to it in it's entirety)
F# A# (Infinity) -- Godspeed You! Black Emperor (come on this band fucking is sooooooooo good. It's the sound track to the apocalypse as i like to say and this album was even used in 28 Days Later, my favourite zombie movie.)
and no Beatles will ever be in my faves b/c i hate them.......and if you say something about that i don't care, i just don't like their music. I have some of their albums on original vinyl and i can easily say you have to be on drugs to get it. Most are just sillly love songs or others are just pop hits w/ shitty lyrics. Just my opinion. I don't care how influential they were i don't like them. Hitler was influential but i don't like him......yes i just compared the beatles to hitler, but then again they compared themselves to christ. I respect them as artists and love them for that, but i just don't like their work, and that's all i have to say on that.
kamui b/c they are awesomecakes but modded b/c i can't stop at 10 apparently so i just keep talking and suggesting.
