Posted 6 months agoBuenos dias muchachos! I am very much still alive and creating "content" as the kids say. I just haven't been posting anything in this gallery because I lost interest in the site (to put it gently). At the moment I don't plan on updating this gallery, I don't think I've even kept track of the policy changes since I've left. Do they still ban you for shit you post somewhere else? Is Riolu off limits? Was hypnotism banned, or was that Patreon? Whatever.
I did at least update the contact info listed in my profile so that I'm a bit easier to find. I've got an Inkbunny account (you've been warned) and might open up one or two other galleries.
I won't be deleting this account, so you don't have to worry about scrambling to archive the good shit. Then again, I don't have a lot of faith that this site is run well enough to last another year, so maybe that's not a bad idea...

Galleries
Posted 4 years agoI'm currently on my final warning here on FA, so if my archive here on FA suddenly disappears, you'll know why. If you still want to keep track of my art, I do have a Twitter account, but that's about it. I'll look into creating other galleries as well, but for now, this is pretty much it:
https://www.twitter.com/ajinarts
In addition, I do have a Patreon account. The only thing special about it is that it's where I post all of my high resolution files. Everything I post there gets posted somewhere publicly, so there's nothing exclusive except for the high quality images.
https://www.patreon.com/Ajin
I'll be updating the files there later today, so look forward to that.

Hi Res Kineta Animation
Posted 9 years agoThanks to all my Patreon supporters, I was able to take time off to put some time into TVPaint! As a reward, I've made a 1920 x 1080 version of the Kineta animation available to my patrons.
If you are not a Patreon supporter, maybe one of the supporters will be nice enough to send it your way if you treat them well... Or you could just become a supporter! I'm moving on to the next project, and the more supporters I have, the more time I can devote to fun projects like this! The next projects will be a short loop and the Goat x T-Rex piece. Thanks a bunch!

FA: User data and notes stolen. Forced to reset my password this week.
Tumblr: User data stolen. Forced to reset my password this week.
Steam: Accidentally served other people's accounts.
Patreon: Personal info stolen.
Kickstarter: User data stolen. Forced to reset my password.
Target: Personal and credit data stolen.
A year or so ago, I thought Dropbox got hacked but that turned out to be a hoax. Reset my password anyway.
And these are just the most recent ones off the top of my head.
Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the internet.
Enjoy your stay.
As for me, I'm going to pretend that no matter what website I use, shit's going to break. I'll probably have some other galleries added soon though. Stay tuned!

Patreon Hacked; Entire Database Posted Online
Posted 10 years agoIn case you missed it, yes, Patreon has been hacked, and unfortunately it’s looking like they pretty much scored everything that was stored in their databases and it has all been posted online. You can read about it here http://observer.com/2015/10/patreon.....c-can-now-see/ , but here’s the gist of it:
• Passwords (encrypted, but there some buzz going around that they might be decrypted with the source code)
• Private messages
• Email addresses (hence if you use the same password for several accounts, they will know which email address to try it on)
• Who you’ve backed
• Shipping addresses
• Tax Forms (Also supposedly encrypted, but…)
• DMCA Takedowns (for creators that have had them filed against them)
You may want to take some steps to mitigate the damage, but really for the time being that includes changing your password ASAP, and doing so if you use the same one at different locations. And if you’ve been anonymously backing any creators, prepare to have that data publicly available. And supposedly, Patreon does not store complete credit card numbers.
That said, if anyone is still supporting me after this breach, thanks! For the time being, my Patreon page will remain open, but we’ll see what the future holds.

Rat Tumor: Suggestions?
Posted 10 years agoI'm looking for affordable tumor removal for a Rat in the Los Angeles area. I have two rats that need them removed, but one of them is more urgent than the other. I got a quote of 450-600 for one rat from a local vet. They're still active and run around, but considering they're older and not in perfect health, I'm not sure I can justify that. If anyone knows a place that is good with rats, let me know. Thanks!
(It's possible the tumors are already too large to remove, but I guess I'll find that out when I speak to a pro about it. I'm used to my rats becoming sickly before the tumors practically devour them, but these guys seem to be an exception to that.)

FA and GIFs
Posted 10 years agoHa! Looks like I finally figured it out.
Normally FA takes GIFs and displays the last frame for the gallery/browse view. But many times this frame is blank due to the way GIFs are optimized (if something isn't moving, then it just overlays a blank layer when a new frame is called for). That's why many times you upload a gif, you get a thumbnail that can't even be clicked, or one that looks like just a blob of pixels.
One method of keeping this from happening is to tell Photoshop that you want to dispose every frame after it plays, meaning even if an image is static, it will dump that frame and display a new one. You won't see it move, but the image is being replaced. The problem is that for large GIFs this means the file sizes can quickly go from kb to mb (not a problem for smaller GIFS).
Well I tried out something, and it appears to work: In Photoshop, select and dispose of the second to last frame, and the second to last UNIQUE frame. Those are the only ones that appear to require disposing. I tried just disposing the second to last frame, but that didn't seem to work, i just got a blank canvas (but at least it was clickable). It's possible you may just need to dispose the last unique frame only, but I didn't try that.
If it doesn't work, let me know. It seemed to work for the most recent thing I posted, but it might just be that one case.

Is your internet in danger?
Posted 10 years agoYou best believe in conspiracy theories, cuz you're living in one.
MPAA Emails show a plot to damage and devalue Google with the help of media outlets and Attorney Generals if they don't give in to their demands on blocking certain content.
https://www.techdirt.com/articles/2.....show-wsj.shtml
Leaked Sony emails from the recent hack show that several studios along with the MPAA planned (or may still be planning, if that first story is any indication) to create a narrative to help them censor the internet.
https://wikileaks.org/sony/emails/emailid/104331
Of interest in this link:
The objective of the session is to put us in the best position possible to make a decision as to whether we should proceed to the next steps in seeking site blocking in the US.
* The first step is a pre-phase in which we will get prepared and try to create a more favorable environment for site blocking. This would involve multiple parallel tracks. Without attempting to be exhaustive, those tracks include:
* Outreach to respected technologists to begin to forge agreement on technical facts and site blocking efficacy — and, where possible, garner policy support for site blocking (or at least dampen opposition to it).
* Continued research and record building on the effectiveness of site blocking.
* Outreach to academics, think tanks and other third parties to foster the publication of research papers, white papers and other articles that tell the positive story of site blocking: e.g., it is commonplace around the world and working smoothly; it has not broken the internet; it is not incompatible with DNSSEC; it is effective; legitimate sites/content have not been blocked; etc.
* Building the record (and telling the story) that the sorts of sites at issue are dangerous. It is not just copyright infringement. Kids are one-click away from identity theft, graphic porn, malware, etc. Parent groups, consumer protection groups and other third parties can be cultivated to speak out against such predatory sites.
* Telling the positive story of the widespread availability of legitimate content.
* At the right time, we would quietly approach ISPs with which we have good relationships and which we believe might consider cooperating with us to test US site blocking.
Looks like we're gonna need a healthy dose of skepticism in the near future. Do you remember how Cyber Monday started? One day a bunch of media outlets started reporting about "Cyber Monday: the busiest online shopping day of the year." As someone that lived on the internet 24/7 at the time, I was shocked as I'd never heard of it. I read into it and realized the whole thing was marketing bullshit. And yet, here we are, several years later, and Cyber Monday is practically an official holiday. Never again...
EDIT: BTW, if you think the MPAA isn't a big deal, just remember how much clout the RIAA had back in the day when it came to music on the Internet...

About Animated Commissions

YCH Animation Deadline Extended
Posted 10 years agoBecause I realized that some people that could potentially bid on it might be at Anthrocon, lol. I kinda forgot that was a thing. Even if the auction fails though, I have a really good excuse to tell people to stop asking for animated commissions, so it's win-win, lol.
Of course if any good FURSUIT makers wants to cut in line for a custom animation in exchange for me cutting in line for a suit then that's a different story...
Anyway, deadline pushed to Wednesday.

Of course, if anyone's curious, the finished product should look similar to this: Inked, colored, 12fps, etc.

No Cons This Summer
Posted 10 years agoUgh... So my plans for the summer were to attend Bronycon since I had a table there. I had initially thought I could also attend Anthrocon but decided against it when I found out the two cons were less than a month apart, so I wouldn't be able to make it work with my work schedule. Then my work schedule changed, and now I can't even go to Bronycon either (and it'll cost me $400 to cancel the trip, with nonrefundable table and partial refund on plane tickets). So to anyone going to Anthrocon, I'm sorry that I'll be missing it this year, but I'll do my best to attend again next time around! And for Bronycon, you all have fun too! I'll be here doing... stuff.

Fursuit Shopping and Commissions Closed.
Posted 10 years agoThanks for the commissions! I'll send out some emails and get to work on them shortly. I may open up another two next week, depending on the progress I make.
Meanwhile, I'm going to have to start picking out who I should have do my fursuit. I've got friends on the lookout as well, but if you have any recommendations as to who could do a suit of this character
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4212678/
Then feel free to let me know. Obviously I can only pick one sadly, lol. Hope I make the right choice.

BLFC! And other cons.
Posted 10 years agoRumor has it I'll be attending BLFC this year! I won't be a dealer or anything, just your average attendee, but I'll probably do some art while I'm there anyway!
Should I take a sweater?
As far as other cons are concerned, I will be at Califur as usual, probably in the artist alley. But I'm not likely to be at Anthrocon this year, but I suppose it's still a slight possibility.
I will however be attending Bronycon as a vendor! So if you plan on going, I'll see you there!

Time to panic about Paypal!!!
Posted 10 years agoOr you know... You could try reading the actual clause.
"When providing us with content or posting content (in each case for publication, whether on- or off-line) using the Services, you grant the PayPal Group a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable (through multiple tiers) right to exercise any and all copyright, publicity, trademarks, database rights and intellectual property rights you have in the content, in any media known now or in the future. "
"When providing us with content"
"When providing us with content"
The only content you've ever given to Paypal is probably a little banner for your profile. Most of the content people are concerned with normally goes to YOUR CUSTOMER. This kind of clause is used usually so that Paypal can publish your stuff on the VERY SITE YOU WANT YOUR STUFF PUBLISHED.
I swear this stuff is like clockwork. It'd be nice if legalese was the same as plain English, but alas, that's not the world we live in. Maybe wait before spreading misinformation.

Puzzle and Dragons
Posted 11 years agoSo I started playing Puzzle and Dragons on my android phone. There's some kind of friends list that goes along with the game. Guess I should ask if anyone's interested! Especially since I keep getting requests from random people whose monsters I borrow, lol.
Expect some PAD artwork soon too!
